- Time for another Historic English County top...This time we ventured onto Dartmoor to climb Yes Tor and High Willhays, to bag the county top of Devon...i am not going to apologies for the wind noise on the tops, it's just the way it is, no point trying to hid it........High Willhays is near the northwestern edge of Dartmoor, about 1.5 miles south east of Meldon Reservoir and about 3 miles south of the town of Okehampton. Although it is the highest point of the moor, it is relatively insignificant in comparison to most of the moor's tors, consisting of no more than a few low outcrops of rock along a north-south ridge. The largest outcrop is crowned with a cairn. The more impressive, but slightly lower, Yes Tor is a short distance north along this ridge, which is known as "the roof of Devon".
You were right...1951 for the Peak National Park...exploding cows😂...priceless...loved the connection to Yes...16 done and dusted... Brilliant you two... Cheers Les 🙂👍
Thanks Les...i hope i never see an exploding cow.
Nice hike Stephen. Thank you for sharing 😊

Especially the one's wearing spectacles

Thanks very much...i don't know how common it is to find some military debris up there, always best to steer clear of it.....thanks for watching and commenting
Another excellent video, guys. That reservoir overflow looked awesome. 👌
Glad you enjoyed it...the overflow was pretty spectacular
You had the weather with you on this one. MAGNIFICENT
Yeah we were pretty lucky
Makes sense not to pick up the military debris💣💣
Beautiful views up there even when it's cloudy!
A great hiking area😍
Thanks Age....appreciate that
Well at least it kept dry and the way this year is going that is always a bonus! Moody and breezy but still a good hike and some great views, cheers Alan
Thanks Alan...certainly was breezy on the tops...i have gotten used to the wind now.
Oh wow, I think I could have spent a good part of the day just exploring around and taking numerous pictures at different angle of that dam...very cool!! It was fog soup when we first woke up this morning, but the sun eventually did prevail. Lovely to see some of these stream as they seem to appear out of nowhere. Another brilliant adventure for sure!!
Hi Bruce...yeah that dam was pretty impressive....a lovely place to start a walk.

The South West was 1 of my favourite trips. I did Wiltshire, Dorset, Cornwall, Devon, Somerset in 1 trip
@@countytopper8836 Yeah...so much going on....but we will get there
@@countytopper8836 Sounds a great trip...we did Somerset, Cornwall and Devon...had hoped to do Dorset on our return but missed the opportunity...never mind...a good excuse to come back sometime.
Hi guys
Hope you're both well 😊
Great hike
Looked very moody and windy
At least it didn't rain 😊
Hope you've had a good weekend 😊
Hellos again folks...yeah we were lucky to keep out of the rain on this one.
Hi Steve, impressive dam at the start, another grey day this year at least it wasnt raining, nice to see your back doing the county tops cheers nigel
Thanks Nigel...yes good to get back to the county tops...they might take a bit longer to do than i had planned but we will get there in the end.
First things first how do you know cows can’t read?🐄 Very nice Devonshire walk that although sounded a tad windy. Outstanding Gate of the Day👍 You seem to be on holiday now for several weeks, lucky buggers! Cheers an envious Mike.
i am just guessing about Cows ability to read...it was pretty small and high up.
That outlet on the reservoir looked awesome , You're smashing these tops off. What happened to the weather? Another great vid guys 👍
Thanks Rob...the reservoir outlet sure was quite a spectacle...Crap weather but then you can't always have perfect weather.
Bit windy & pretty
The wind seems to follow me around...thanks for watching Bex
