England has really beautiful landscapes. It would be great to walk around them.
Yes we sure are lucky
Another three off the total. Pity about the mist at the start. It's wrong that people have to work a bank holiday. I would love 8hrs every night. Insomnia. I'm gojng to have to trade my sundial in I think. Thanks for sharing Steven.
Thanks Chris...never used to sleep well but nowadays it's great...sleep is very important..thanks for watching and commenting mate.
Looked beautiful around here even in the bad weather ! Nice that you found a layby to park at 🙂
Beautiful views all around and I loved the music ~ Anna
Thanks ...a lovely walk, that's what counts.
Wow, what a walk! ⛰ Loved the little Bailey Hill detour - those views over Dovedale are stunning! Thanks for the awesome adventure - looking forward to the next one! 👍
Glad you enjoyed it...Baley hill was a real little gem
It definitely looked foggy and windy out. Looks like you ate well. I should bring food and first aid with me but I never do. Only a water and camera equipment. 👍
Thanks Craig.
What a shame the weather seem to get cloudy as you headed over to the peaks. Still it looked a nice hike, great explore. 😊
Thanks Yasmin...really enjoyed this one, despite the weather.
Always nice to join you on your walk experiences. I'v heard of the Tissington Trail and Moat Low, but never been in that area. Atmospheric misty views very effective too and loved the high views. By the way liked your choice of piano music very nice on the ear. I agree about that idea of clock time changing !! 🕐🕞Belated Easter wishes to you both too.
Thanks Shanita...i quite enjoy those misty conditions....thanks for watching and commenting.
You’re really getting after your list… great to get 3 more done! You sure had a bit of weather and a little mud to contend with. Sure is pretty - we love seeing those dry stone walls. I don’t know if I could figure my way around there, lol. Sorry Jaren couldn’t join you- hopefully you’ll have a fun time together next weekend! 👌🥾🥾 Cheers, Jen
Thanks 👍...been out today to do 3 more..storming through them.
Pity about the dull weather.; Some of those views would've been spectacular in sunny weather I think; though the mist was quite atmospheric, particularly at Moat Low. Speaking of which, 'low' sometimes denotes a prehistoric burial/ritual site, and your second shot of it, from a distance, did show the type of high point often used for such. I cannot say it was such a site, but it might be worth looking into.
Thanks Michael, this area of the peak has so many Low's...i bet they all have interesting histories.
Well Steven you have had a fabulous week of walks! This one is very atmospheric in the mist, quite windy too by the sounds of it (oh no that’s just the gopro12 and it’s terrible sound sending ours back) spotted the 🦒 You are right about the sun dials 😂 need to invent a rain dial! Fabulous tops! Avoid the crowds and stay up top best decision! That guy maybe had hardy legs but cold head 😂 ‘medicinal compound is the saviour of the human race’ I believe! Great sing song and nice looking picnic! Nice walk back although we’d find a shorter way not one that extends the walk! What no one should be working if the store is closed that’s ridiculous! Look forward to your next one 👍
Hi Folks...sorry for the late reply, you know what it's like "Work and that"...are you really sending your go pro back?..the wind sound is terrible it was not that bad on my old 7..glad you are looking forward to the next one...hoping to get out Sat and Sun this coming weekend...cheers..
@@atrampinthehills.841 been singing that medical compound song all day at work! You have a lot to answer for. Yeah I did a handful of videos on the 12 with media mod and the audio on each is shocking, did a test with every setting and couldn’t find one that works. Don’t fancy spending £270 on a mic (their suggestion) when the previous go pros all had great sound with or without the media mic attached. Last few videos all been shot on the 10. Whilst the video quality and the image stabilisation is far superior on the 12 that audio is a deal breaker for us sadly.
Very atmospheric misty start Stephen, made for some nice footage especially the giraffe tress. Great countryside to walk amongst and you made the right decision to remain high, never lose height if you don’t have to. Vegetarian seeded chicken roll looked delicious and many thanks for finally letting us know. However, it would have been better if you told us what type of apple it was as there are several varieties 🍎🍏 It’s a shame Karen had to work despite the store being closed but in truth my pension needs paying for and Karens taxes all helps. Hopefully see Karen on the next adventure. I’m giving this a FIVE STAR RATING AS IT WAS SO ENJOYABLE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Well done.
Thanks for your comment Mike...Hope you have sorted your Plunger and Rubber gloves problem...RE: The Apple...i am pretty sure [75%] it was a Braeburn...
Good video
Glad you enjoyed
Nice and misty😁
I had never thought about sundials being wrong for half the year!
Beautiful views!
You don't need trousers on to keep warm! I wear shorts all year long and it's fine. Just don't shave your legs and the hair keeps your legs warm enough😀
Thanks Age, really appreciate your feedback
Ey up me duck.
We're so lucky to have the Dales and Peak District on our doorstep, I love it. I rode the Tissington and High Peak Trail many times back in the day when I was a fit mountain biker, lol.
Ay a good'un me owd 👍🙂
Thanks Soggy...yeah we hired a bike and did the Tissington trail a few years back....thinking back it was a real good day out....thanks Duck
That was a good hike. Too bad for the Blue Sky in the morning that turned in to a misty day. Still I did see some blue sky peaking through the clouds!
I also hate the time change. We're now 2 hours away from the time that we should have... 🤔
Oh well, we'll get used to it, again...
All the best! Kaat
Thanks Kaat...i had a great walk.
Great hike and views. Rude that Brian locked his gate on you.😊
Thanks Leon..yes that Brian needs a serious talking too.
Lovely views mate , great video 👍
Glad you enjoyed
You made us laugh with the shorts and woolly hat rant. We’ve said the same thing 😂😂
Ha Ha...yeah...it just seems funny.
Great video, recently found your channel! Love to hear that dialect, I’m a Norfolk gal & my late father was from Suffolk! Have subscribed to your channel, we always come to Derbyshire for our annual holidays! Thanks x
Thanks Sylvia...thanks so much for subscribing...we used to come to the Peak district every year for a holiday...then we thought, why don't we just move up that way?...25 years later and we still walk every week...best move ever, although i still love Suffolk.
Good to hear of the sleep Steve - great for the walks and the hills challenge and hey your sense of humor. Ha ha! I love it mate as we join you on the walks. I thought it was a misty magical day - at least their were few people on the tops there. Ha, medicinal compound? Hills without people. Well, a a decent outing in the end. All the best out there. Mark
Thanks Mark...too sleep well is the most important thing in life...i had years of sleeping badly but thankfully those days are behind me now.....i don't mind misty days, so much better than Windy days..cheers mate...hope you had a good Easter weekend
@@atrampinthehills.841 Yeah, good sleep is so high on the score sheet. Good to hear you sleep well now. Very true about the mist and wind.
Another lovely video from you mate 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
So I'm not the only who moans about the tourists then. 😊😊. Lovely walk.
Ha ha...not just you Roger...i think it's an age thing
Sir Isaac Newton used to put little pieces of wood in every room of the hose as a child so that he could tell the time. Guess it is no surprise he was precocious. Glad spring is on its way. Been a wet one.
Thanks....issac Newton got me thinking
Enjoyed your walk. This is a lovely area ❤
Thanks Dave and Dawn...sure is
I enjoyed watching 👀
Thanks very much...good to hear from you
Hi Steve
Another great video
Made us think about sundials 😂
Hopefully the weather will improve soon 🌞
Views were great from Baley Hill
Poor Karen at work on Easter Sunday.

They just get better Stephen ..love the way you capture all the lovely natural beauty (the odd cottage ..babbling streams ..just beautiful..&all to great music…thank you …your right Bailey hill looks very steep &the rocky knoll looked a bit precarious ..you must be fit Stephen ..anyway another fanatic video 😊
Thanks Ruth...fit me?...fit to drop !!...thanks for your lovely comment, these comments spur me on to make more videos, so thank you very much.
Good that Steven its a while since we've been on part of that walk
Thanks Glyn...
Good one steve your sharp getting thru these I done the same not long ago had loads of time off so posted a few vlogs class had to giggle when you said them folk down the valley would do your head in lol class this is one place ive never visited looks great to stretch the lags like 👍 👌🏽
Thanks 👍..Crowds of People just have that effect on me...
Ha sundials, good point thou. Shame the mist came down on this one. Nice walk. 😊
Thanks Rachel...don't mind the mist really, prefer it to wind...cheers Steven
27 in already, flying through them mate, it's not just sainsburys, my Mrs works for morrisons and their just as bad, great vid as always 👍
@@overthehilloutdoors Thanks Jesus, sorry i mean Rob...yeah flying through them, great walks over many great hills...i can't slow down now i have started.
@@atrampinthehills.841 🤣
I thought there was no way you were doing THE Shining Tor otherwise you would still be walking now😂...nice vid Steven...my son showed me a tik tok vid of Carleton and Mam Tor today ...complete bedlam...in fact the traffic was right back along Rushups Edge and practically impossible to get in or out of Castleton...Mental... Don't like Sainsbury's anyway, too bloody dear...enjoyed this ...Cheers Les 🙂👍
Thanks Les...i can just imagine what Castleton and Mam tor were like..i am glad about that , it keeps them all in one place.
@@atrampinthehills.841 Too right👍
Did you get lost again 😂 too many bloody people doin' mi head in!! Feel your pain 😅 all them locked gates, they saw you coming! Lovely views and your chatter had me laughing all the way through! Bless Karen having to work for that shit company 😢
Thanks Donna...hoping to get out this Sat and Sun for more adventures and chatter.
Moat Low! Classic name for a barrow. I love how these Neolithic and Bronze Age barrows carry old English names that bear no relation whatsoever to the original occupants. History upon history. Don't blame you for avoiding the routes with people - especially when they're wearing shorts in early Spring, for crying out loud!
Yeah shorts...just ridiculous the way some people dress.
@@atrampinthehills.841 I know. Don’t they realise that tweed, ties and fedoras are the only sensible options!
@@WC21UKProductionsLtd I need to get myself a Fedora, to keep the sun off my ever widening bald patch
Nice vid. Some good views, weathers been poor this year so far. Hopefully it will be better soon now spring is here.
Yes the clocks changing is a pain.
Singing in your vid too.😁👏👏👍
Thanks Jamie..the weather has been terrible...been on a local 4 mile walk tonight and the mud was horrendous, when will it start to dry out?...hope you liked the singing..ha ha..
@atrampinthehills.841
I know it's terrible.
I'm going up a mountain Saturday no matter what the weather is like. I loved the singing.😁
That song has funny memories for me.
I'm 45, when I was about 13-14 away at school football training weekend, can't even remember where.
We hid away one morning in the room, one boy stuck his head around our door and said they are counting heads, one of the boys was hiding behind the door and he hit him with his pillow, quite a crack his head hit the door, long story short that song was playing on the radio.
None of us had heard of it and found it quite funny, we were young and it was an old song. We ended up singing it and laughing all week.
Sorry for the long story, you singing it took me back just over 30 years ago. Thanks. 😁👍
loved the long story...what mountain are you off to ?@@JamieHarding5
@atrampinthehills.841
Nice.
I'm going to Abergavenny, it's called The Blorenge, Sounds like orange.
Don't know if you heard of it.
2 nice big ponds there.
Circular walk is just over 7 miles.
I'll have a little swim there too and some food. Just want to get out for decent walk.
Monday night I was at the smallest bothy in the uk. Grwyne Fawr.
Beautiful area. Very small, about 10ft long 5ft wide.
I had it all to myself then dad and his two boys came. It was very cosy.
I moved my sleeping bag and said you 3 sleep up there and I'll sleep on the floor.
We had a good chat and laugh together.
I'll put it up Friday.
I done a 2 shorts of it. Just nonsense stuff, a few seconds. Visual candle stuff then picked it all up and had my beers.😁
Sounds great..dont know Blorenge..been up a few around South Wales...Sugarloaf and Cribarth are the 2 that instantly spring too mind...cant beat a night in a bothy..@@JamieHarding5
