Every BJJ White Belt needs to know THIS Underhook Entry
IF you train wrestling or BJJ, then you've got to love a good underhook.
Recently I've been back on my Underhook Takedown kicked because of Adam Saitiev.
He's a former Olympic Champion Wrestler from Russian who was known for his slick Underhook Takedowns and use of foot sweeps.
I love the Underhook for Jiu-Jitsu too because there are so many attacks that do not require you to hit your knees to the mat.
Taking shots in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can often be high risk, high reward. With that being said, I try to stick with as many takedowns from the upper body as I can.
If you'd like to find my full underhook takedown system, I actually have an instructional which covers it in it's totality.

The Strongest No Gi Grip for Wrestling & BJJ
มุมมอง 6514 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
This week I have been focusing on the Russian Tie! So, I've shown some small details, some takedown entries, and more, but today we're going to start from the top and I'm going to show a pretty simple way to get that Russian Tie/2-on-1. I love this tie up for all of Grappling, whether it's Wrestling or No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It's just such a powerful grip and also a great way to slow down m...

A SIMPLE Single Leg takedown finish that works at a HIGH LEVEL (Low Effort Takedown for BJJ)
มุมมอง 72312 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
In today's video I'm going to show you guys a low effort Single Leg Takedown finish that I learned while I was wrestling in college. This finish is called the Football Tackle Finish, AKA the Backside Double Leg finish. One of the best ways to finish a Single Leg is to switch off to a Double. Whether it's Wrestling or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, I prefer switching to a head on the inside Double versus ...
The Single Leg Takedown finish EVERY BJJ White Belt Should Master
มุมมอง 79016 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
In today's video we are going to go over a basic Single Leg Takedown finish that I think every White Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu should master (Gi or No Gi BJJ). The Dump, AKA Running the Pipe, is a very basic finish that comes from Freestyle/Folkstyle Wrestling and is one that works really well against your opponents that have heavy legs/hip pressure. This was one of my go-to finishes as a col...
The Ultimate Takedown & Pass Sequence for Wrestlers New to Jiu Jitsu (Ankle Picks & Knee Cuts!)
มุมมอง 61821 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
In today's video I'm going to break down one of my most successful takedowns and passes. Funny enough, they sequence together pretty well, which is why I teach them in sequence during this video, but obviously you can do them each independent of one another. Whether it's Wrestling or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the Ankle Pick is a darn good takedown. It's energy efficient, keeps you pretty safe from s...
HOW to Use a Feint/Fake in BJJ or Wrestling to Get More Single Leg Takedowns (Elbow Pass Intro)
มุมมอง 1.4Kวันที่ผ่านมา
So, in today's video we are continuing to work off of the Elbow Pass to a Snatch Single Leg. The Elbow pass is a hand fighting/set up technique that can do a multitude of things. This includes giving you access to your opponent's legs, hips, back, head, and can even be used as a feint/fake threat in order to gain access to the far side of your opponent's body. Understanding how to use feints/fa...
How to make Your Opponents Leg WEIGHTLESS when doing a Single Leg Takedown

One of the biggest mistakes I see beginners make is that they lift with their arms and their backs when attempting to get a Single Leg takedown in Wrestling or Jiu-Jitsu. We will not focus on the finishes in this video, although I have a whole instructional at Brandonreed3x.com/sto...

A Slick Takedown Made Famous by the Oklahoma State Cowboys (Works Well for BJJ Too!)
มุมมอง 2.2K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
Recently I have taught a ton of Takedowns and technique from the Over-tie. I've credited a lot of those takedowns to Freestyle World and Olympic Wrestling Champion Kyle Snyder. 3 Ways to Improve Your Takedowns WITHOUT Drilling (I Wish I Knew These Earlier)
มุมมอง 700หลายเดือนก่อน
Whether it's Wrestling or BJJ, there is an over emphasis on static drilling. For me, I define static drilling as doing 1 technique, over and over again, on a training partner who is giving ZERO resistance. I think this type of drilling is fine to introduce techniques. I agree with grabbing the arm, however, breaking a “collar tie” can be done with the arm from the same side. (Their right arm and your left arm grabbing for their forearm or wrist). At this point you can use you right arm (depending on the side, but for this demonstration), go over their shoulder and grab your own wrist, setting you up for a kimura arm bar.

I'm a BJJ guy but I really admire wrestling and need to add it to my game to take my grappling skills to a different level. It’s so lame to be that BJJ guy with no wrestling take down game and just pull guard and scoot your booty. That's weak!

That knee tap after the pass is a really good habit and probably essential to include when drilling this, nice one. How much do you focus on pulling the elbow down to get the opponent's hands - potentially - touching the mat and therefore compromising his base? Some people really seem to push the elbow away whilst others focus on pulling it down more. My guess is that this depends on the opponent's posture so high stance maybe push elbow away and low stance maybe pull the elbow down. What do you think?

This makes Sense because bjj guys sucks at takedowns but not at takedown defense. In wrestling if you shoot for a double leg and fail you restart. But in bjj you get guillotined. Bjj dont want to engage and are super defensive.

Sure, you don't want to sit in the top position for long, it exposes your lead leg. If they try to duck under and get a single leg on you while you snap them down, I think your snap down has a good chance of succeeding because you're pushing in the same direction. What do you think?
