An Effective Method to Get Bigger Opponents Down to The Mat in Wrestling or BJJ

  • One of the biggest problem areas in grappling, whether it's Wrestling, Gi-BJJ, No-Gi BJJ, or even MMA with Grappling situations, is getting our opponents down to the mat and keeping them there after a takedown occurs.
The rear body lock is the common culprit of this frustration.
You've done all the work to get behind someone, but they decide to "just stand up", so how do we get them down without wasting too much energy?
To be honest, there are tons of different ways to answer that question, but today I'm going to present the solution I most commonly try to use.
This technique is something I learned watching the Penn State Wrestlers back in 2017.
I used it throughout my entire college Wrestling career and still use it to this day in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Hopefully you found the technique in this video helpful.

What are the chances of injuring my partner if I mess this up? I’m worried about their ankle and toes
