  • This week I have been focusing on the Russian Tie!
So, I've shown some small details, some takedown entries, and more, but today we're going to start from the top and I'm going to show a pretty simple way to get that Russian Tie/2-on-1.
I love this tie up for all of Grappling, whether it's Wrestling or No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
It's just such a powerful grip and also a great way to slow down more athletic/fast grapplers.
Hopefully if you train BJJ or Wrestling, then you found this video useful for you. If you go and look back the past week's videos, you'll find more content on this position.
If you'd like to learn more, you can find all of my Wrestling for BJJ Instructionals at Brandonreed3x.com/store
    Thanks for watching!

I agree with grabbing the arm, however, breaking a “collar tie” can be done with the arm from the same side. (Their right arm and your left arm grabbing for their forearm or wrist). At this point you can use you right arm (depending on the side, but for this demonstration), go over their shoulder and grab your own wrist, setting you up for a kimura arm bar.

Crook of the arm … might be slightly more common vernacular than elbow pit.
    But, I like elbow pit.
