  • So, today's video is another technique video (of course).
Recently I've gotten on a bit of an Elbow Pass bender myself, so, I thought I'd share a few elbow pass techniques with you in the next few weeks.
Today will just be a short intro on the Elbow pass.
Whether you're doing Wrestling or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the elbow pass is a great hand fighting technique/set up to enter in on Leg attacks or upper body takedowns.
It's especially good if you're like me and you want to limit the number of times you have to hit your own knee to the mat.
With that being said you can definitely hit penetration steps off this too, I just prefer not too (I already have a ton of milage on my knees).
Hopefully you found the technique in the video helpful. If you'd like to learn more, then go to brandonreed3x.com/store to find all my Wrestling for BJJ Instructionals.
    Thanks for watching!

That knee tap after the pass is a really good habit and probably essential to include when drilling this, nice one. How much do you focus on pulling the elbow down to get the opponent's hands - potentially - touching the mat and therefore compromising his base? Some people really seem to push the elbow away whilst others focus on pulling it down more. My guess is that this depends on the opponent's posture so high stance maybe push elbow away and low stance maybe pull the elbow down. What do you think?
