  • Adding on to my recent post about the Russian-Tie/2-on-1 Grip.
This tie-up is undoubtably one of the strongest grips in Wrestling and BJJ.
The problem is that it can, and often is, taught without the slightest understanding of its nuances.
I'm not perfect, but in this video, I want to take a step back from showing a full takedown and introduce a few minor details that can make or break your Russian Tie control in Wrestling or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Of course, these details don't always need to be spot on in a live scenario, and attacks often work without these details.
The issue is that once you go against higher level opponents, the less and less you can get away with missing these small steps.
Hopefully you found this video helpful, and if you'd like to learn more, then you can find all my Wrestling for BJJ Instructionals at Brandonreed3x.com/store
    Thanks for watching!

Nice detail on using the body against the shoulder instead of just using your arms.
I sometimes have issues where they pull back and im kind of awkwardly fighting to get close until i let go of the arm.
Will work on immediately engaging body to shoulder, thanks.
