Heading Somewhere
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 17 มิ.ย. 2018
We aren’t always sure where, but we always seem to be heading somewhere. We make videos to help ourselves remember our adventures and enjoy posting them for those who share our restlessness! Whether it is Europe, Asia, or the Pacific Crest Trail, we are always up for a new adventure!
Post-Trail Adventures
Our post-trail life: A constant balance of reminiscing about our great adventure together and living in the moment to embrace new ones. We have talked at length about another hike, and while that path remains uncertain, we remain steadfast about one thing. We will make the most of our future journey together, whatever it becomes.

Amazing sunrise!!
Beautiful views! Odd looking to gantic crater in the second de of g mountain, early on, before Forester I e heard of drip dry, new one drip wet in the rain!
Love your whole hearted seriously silly arrival to Kennedy Meadows!!!
Georgeous views!
I watched all this series of videos pretty much as soon as you posted them. And you posted them about once a week. Having watched some other TH-camrs post their travels only every 2 or 3 months, I have come to realize just what an amazing task it was to post these videos while you were out hiking. I'm watching a guy bike from Alaska to South America and he posts only every few months. I watched his Christmas episode in May. Another biking across Canada has been posting about every 3 months. Your videos were just a well done as these guys videos, but you were timely. And that kept me interested. Thank you for all that work.
And perfect music throughout;....
Thank you. The music is hard work, glad you liked it!
@@HeadingSomewhere I know you edit when tired in tent or on precious time off resting and the effort shows .You dropped the hammer on that 110 mile highway segment
Twenty minutes miles all day. Rock on .😊 🎉 I am so impressed with any thirty mile day, let alone stacked with other 20s and 30s. Oh man.....you did the trail in one year and had your "shit together"..
Great camera work and editing. Like the way it moves along. I feel like I'm along for the journey
I'm the old fart again and new groupee. OK, you both have changed my entire assessment of physical endurance and strength. We did 8 or 10 miles into a basecamp with heavy frame packs on maybe three day climbs, and not thru hiking. Big deal. I have run two dozen marathons. Big deal. You do marathon repeats daily with a pack and over months of varied terrain. To me, this is the true test of real strengh over flash. My high regards.
I love all of your episodes but in this one your music is epic..perfect....
I'm an old fart who has hiked and climbed since the 70's and I respect you and salute you.
Thank you so much for this. I was PCT class of 21 too, but I was some way behind you guys. I too thought the Harts Pass to Monument boomerang provided a wonderful and unexpected reunion with some special people. The PCT was the most fulfilling time of my life and your videos promoted amazing feelings and emotions. Best wishes
Huge kudos to your thoughtful and steady scenic trail views, too and editing.
I like your consistent good humor which diguises hard core strength and endurance.. You do rock.
I love your good humor and consistent thoughtful narrating and great music.
Spectacular!!!
Rookie error, leaving sticks in'a grown. 😜. Beautiful desert 🏜️ in'a am.
ReWatching this before I head out early next month. Just read your write up in the description for this video, comforting knowing you guys also were told that SJ was treacherous but you went ahead and made it through. I really want to pass through SJ too, but I guess I’ll know closer to my start date if others have gone through and what the conditions are like.
Ah man, yep! The whole trail is full of opinions, ultimately you have to take it all with a grain of salt and do what you feel is best for yourself! I see I'm late to this, I hope the journey is going well for you! Happy trails! :-)
love to see you guys living your best life! you continue to be inspiring. adventure of a lifetime to lifetime of adventure pipeline, hell yes!!
what happened to episode 7? its not in the video list
Great video - love watching train wrecks in slow motion. I did not waste 20 minutes of my life. I skipped the cloudy bits.
Love it! I want to try skydiving. 2:32 was that Cape Lookout State Park by chance?
Just watched this through 1-finale. Great great production. Congrats on such an amazing adventure. 😊
i just love your videos! This made my day.
Great to see you 2 back on you tube. Have missed following your adventures. Looks like life is good!! Cheers!!
Love it. Thank you!
We miss you Cass
Great video, really enjoyed this one!!
well, you have fun with that. I may try the PCT, but I won't be doing too much of that. I would like to skydive, at least once though
Wow 🤩 🔥🔥🔥
I have over 1000 skydives...none out of a balloon. This was awesome! Jumped out of many hovering helicopters...the slow building terminal speed would be the same...but it's still not a balloon!!!
Your life is sooo boring! 😅
Glad to see that you both found found a nice place to rest and relax after your long walk!. Keep on adventuring!
I must of missed it, why did siren leave the trail?
Siren went to attend a friends reunion for a week. She hopped back on trail afterwards but we unfortunately never synced back up.
Time flies. While ya'll were thru-hiking the PCT I was thru-hiking the AT. On July 4th, 2021, I was at the MA/VT border.
Miss you guys ❤️🫂❤️
Wow, and ... Wow If someone wants to know how it is on trail, this is the video I show. Stresslevel Classof2019
Just want to say what a real pleasure it was to spend (virtual) time on the PCT with you. My old days (60 plus years ago) of tramping around the Sierra was fun for me but was very different from hiking today. Both of you have great personalities. Kudos.
I love your videos! Quick question tho, would it kill you to crack a smile? 😂
I don’t know, I might 😂
I watched your guys' videos back in 2021 while I was training for this year's hike - I'd row on the workweek evenings to an episode or two, then I'd go out and run. I stopped watching your videos, like all trail videos, when you hit Washington - I'm from there but wanted to save the element of the unknown, to have that powerful magnet pull to home and yet not know what to expect. I solo hiked, but certain things about your guys' hiking style and attitude stayed with me - your humor, your ability to make the best of it. I'd lose track of the day count, but often find myself whispering "good morning" to the sunrise, after a sip of my cold instant coffee and my dad's mantra: "the day is now possible." There's something about greeting the day, even when you're not filming and nobody else is listening. Your road walk tenacity was inspiring - I too wanted that continuous footpath, and ended up roadwalking for about a week total, around the Windigo/Tolo closures, the Lionshead closure (fortunately there was a shorter way through Detroit OR and forest service roads) and the final PCTA alternate around the Pasayten fire complex closure. Tagged Canada. And then... I felt I'd left my heart at Hart's Pass, and still had unfinished business, so I weighed some factors and did what I had to do, which is all I can say about that - except that it was perfect, and beautiful. And now that I'm back in normal life, I watched the rest of your Washington videos, and this one especially had me in happy tears - what a beautiful document of your journey, and though details and conditions may vary, a great document to help many of us remember our journeys, who didn't film comprehensively. Thank you for making and sharing this inspirational treasure. Hikertrash heroes.
I am so incredibly stoked to hear that your thru was a beautiful journey and that you were able to accomplish it in the way that you wanted to! "The day is now possible." I love that.
@@HeadingSomewhere Thank you!! Lasting joy. Everything I hoped and more. :)) Yep, my dad and his sayings :D pretty much every morning, takes a deep sip of coffee, exhales in satisfaction and says the motto. Kind of an excellent way to start every day!
Really enjoyed following you on your journey. You both gave a different perspective of the trail
I'm a older hiker living in the mists of multiple wildernesses. I appreciate the raw beauty of a high pass and your interpretation of the Mammoth area is hands down the best I've ever seen. Thank you so much.
I'm loving these videos. I can't wait to attempt the PCT one day.
How did you make those map route segments at 19:40?
I'm not positive because Bird Bath does the tech stuff, but I believe he talks about it in the Q&A :-)
What an amazing achievement and experience for both of you I thank you for the video footage amazing scenery. WELL DONE! !
I was completely engrossed with your through hike of the PCT. Your footage was absolutely gorgeous and you were always so consistent with your video taping. I got hooked when I was camping at Panther Creek in south Washington and became a trail Angel there. My trail Angel name is WildOrca. I’ve moved north and would like to treat hikers to a dinner near the Steven’s Pass area. Do you think they would be appreciative even tho there are restaurants nearby?
I don't think I met a single hiker who wouldn't appreciate some conversation with a trail angel and food! This is a lovely idea!
heyyyy love the videos! just curious how often to park ragers ask for to see your long distance permit o the PCT?
Totally depends on the time of season you head through each area. We got stopped once in Yosemite in 2021 and once in Mt Rainier in 2019, but I've heard others have been stopped more in busier seasons.
My brother is doing a chunk of the PCT alone this year and I've been watching your videos to get an idea of what it will be like for him. Great content and editing, thanks guys!
Thanks for your episodes. I’m a couple years away from doing the pct and it was great for my wife to see. Noticed Rob switched packs part way. What happened?
His strap actually ripped a couple of days into the High Sierra stretch. He mended it the best he could to get through that section but it wasn't reliable for the remainder of the hike!
And now? What follows now? The old familiar life, as before? Go nevertheless simply the same woe from north to south. Then further, until Tierra del Fuego. Otherwise you will become aware of the emptiness of everyday life.
