Your upfront-ness about feeling "meh" throughout this section is honestly refreshing-I feel like lots of people tend to romanticize what they share online about thru-hiking. It's definitely something incredible & worth showcasing, but only sharing the good can be a bit misleading & makes it makes it easy to feel like "OMG I should be enjoying every single second of this like everyone else does and if I don't I'm going to feel guilty!" Sometimes you feel meh. And that's okay. But good on you both for pushing through it. Thank you so much for continuing to share your journey. :)
Rob is such a champ. My dad and I had to hike out of the Grand Canyon while he was developing the flu, and he was practically delirious when we got to the top. Hiking while sick is no joke! And hiking in the heat like that is just as awful! You both inspire me so much.
I so hope that Rob is feeling better! Get well and hang in there Rob. You both are such strong hikers and that beautiful wife is always so upbeat and setting a fast pace. I really enjoy your videos so much. Some locations bring back so many memories. For allowing us to join in, watching your journey I am very grateful. My very best to you both, Bill
You have to be a little crazy to be a badass thru-hiker, especially in that kind of heat. You'll probably miss the heat when you are in the cold and wet up north. What a magnificent journey you are on. It will be a high water mark in your lives. Many a time you will draw upon the strength you have gained on the PCT when times get hard later in life. Hard as it seems sometimes, it ends so soon and it is bittersweet. Savor the moment. Embrace the struggle. Enjoy!
I really feel for Rob. Being on Trail and feeling like that must be horrible. Sweating, feeling meh no aircon and fighting a cold/flu. I hope by the time you post this you are feeling better. If not a longer reset with aircon is needed. The Trail will still be there when you are improved. Get well soon and I hope the meh has lifted x
Been following your journey and really enjoy your videos. I hope you guys stay safe and your hike isn't disrupted too much by the fire you're quickly approaching - it's a bad one.
We love watching you guys! My husband and I hiked this section a couple of years ago, so it was super special to be able to relive those moments through your video! Praying for you guys!!!
You guys are doing great!! The heat waves this year really suck. I know sometimes it's easier said than done on trail, but, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Best wishes that Rob feels better soon!
man....right now I would LOVE to live the life where all I need to worry about is walking from point A to point B day to day.......thanks for sharing the trek.....I've been with you guys from the beginning.
Good job with your video content. I live in the Tahoe area, the heat has been insane, that makes your progress extra impressive. I hope you are able to avoid as much smoke as possible. Keep on keeping on, I enjoy following your adventure.
This has been a great journey since the beginning. Life will have its ups and downs and sometimes just wondering what the hell we are doing. No matter where your surroundings are, feeling a little meh , comes and goes. Keep trekking you two. This is the first long TH-cam journey I’ve watch and it’s been awesome waiting for the next show. 🤙 keep rockin the Odesza
I probably enjoyed your hike more than y'all did and I'm sitting in my garage in 95 degree heat and high humidity on the Texas Gulf Coast. Loved the sunshine!
UR NOT crazy...I repeat NOT CRAZY. America would NOT B America if not 4 people like U. Your curiousity discovered "new" places. He is NOT CRAZY...I repeat NOT CRAZY. His willingness to keep "the fires" burning is just as important as discovering that fire "place". I wish I could give U BOTH a giant hug. (smiles) It would not take your "cold" away, nor would it make any of your day's shorter, but for that instant, it might, help focus your heavier thoughts on me. TRUST me, nothing U can think of hasn't already been thought of, when it comes 2 me. (wink) "Thank You Both" for the beautiful shots of the Countryside. GOD BLESSES ALL
You two are great and thanks for sharing. Humans are weird. We feel “meh” and we’re aware of it and then wonder what others like us would be or are like. A nice few tell others . It’s so much easier to just let that ship sail. And walk. And something will come next.
I must say that Rob has really grown into the beard. Looking good. Is the plan to keep it or a celebration shave at the end? We won't recognise you without it. It is a testament to the miles and the journey. It's becoming. 😎
Hello. I've recently discovered your channel and your PCT series is a great watch. I loved the song playing at 6:30 minutes into this video but Soundhound couldn't identify it for me. Could you please share the artist with me? Thank you.
Pretty soon OREGON!! It's amazing and commendable that you can stay in such good spirits and always smiling while hiking with that sick dude with a beard. Why is he always looking at a map? It's a path in the dirt!! Follow it North to Canada. :) Stay safe.
As a fellow map-reader on the PCT, that is part of the interest. Being aware of what’s around you. What are the mountains called, the names of creeks, where the side trails lead to, the upcoming topography. The dirt path itself is not terribly interesting in itself. But some people aren’t into maps, so that’s fine too. -GoalTech
Captain Obvious here... let me start off by saying when Rob is firing on all cylinders, he's a riot.....BUT, he has been misfiring as of late so someone needs to send a care package to one of their resupply points.... some bags of saline to put some pep in his step and some laughing gas just for fun and to see him smile for more than 3 seconds. Love ya Rob, but you look so down.....

thanks for keeping it real-- and I cannot imagine hiking in the 90s-- that just sucks it right out of you
Thank you for sharing. I love watching your journey, the good the bad and the meh!!! you are crushing it together.

Thanks for the video! Think I would've wanted a refund after I realized there was no AC in the motel :D
Ok…anyone else wondering if “we slept in this morning” is code for “we had awesome tent sex this morning?” 😆
Love following you guys on the PCT. Interesting how both of you changed over the course of your hike.
Cheers from LA (also hot ;-)

Bed Head - Joey Pecoraro
:)
Awesome, thanks for sharing. It's a cool tune 👍
You’re costing me money. First I bought your hat; now I just bought Bed Head. -don from Lorain Ohio USA 🇺🇸
I would say try the pastrami sandwich at the store in Sierra City but you are long past there by now :o)
Are y'all using the BA tiger wall? 2 or 3 person? What are your thoughts?
We are using the 3 person. Overall we really like it! The extra space was nice
What’s crazy is Timothy Olson doing the PCT in 51 days, 16 hours, and 55 minutes!! 😲
Don't think of yourself as crazy, think of yourself as eccentric. People love eccentrics.

I dont think you are crazy. I think the rat race is crazy.
