    I have subscribed to several thru hiker channels hoping that someone will make it to Canada. You and one other look like winners. I enjoy the ups and downs both terrain wise and mental. The video and scenery makes me want to get back on the trail. While working for the USFS back in the late 60’s we removed a rock slide on the PCT in Southern Oregon . Yes that makes me old which may explain why I have a hard time understanding what you are saying when music is playing during narrations.
    Cassie's legs aren't scrawny, they reach the ground and that's what matters. Great journey, keep going.

    I think I had the same camping site that you had on the 1st day (1:49 in this episode) out of Tehachapi. I was there on 6/2/21, so as you can imagine it was probably a little hotter. I didn't finish this year, but I can finish this year with one permit in WA, so I hope to be able to follow in your footsteps the rest of the way.

    It's more of a mental Game than a physical accomplishment. You started it, now finish it. Watch your minds. The mind id a wonderful servant, but a cruel master. Watch your minds and kick out any thoughts that will hurt your chances of success. You "CAN" do this. That's a fact. The question is: Are you going to finish this? Wishing you all the very best......

    hey guys! just found you while looking for this section as it will be my starting point of the PCT tomorrow (only got 2 1/2 months sadly since I am German and cant get a visa) - it looks like you guys have a similar pace than I hope to have, so perhaps I will see you on the trail unless the videos are a few weeks back due to editing which will probably be the case for my TH-cam videos as I am still catching up with the Mexico material prior to the PCT :D In any case, keep going! Both on the trail and with the videos =) Cheers, Chris

    Congrats on completing this section. To me it’s the least scenic and the hottest section. The Sierra’s will be a welcome different challenge I’m sure

    You are doing an outstanding job with your videos. I am curious as to what camera(s) you are using. Your footage is really good.
    We are from New Zealand but have spent the past five Octobers hiking in the Sierras. You are kucky it is a low snow year as this will ensure that you are in for a great experience. We will follow you to the end. All the best.

    Question? I’ve heard a few through hikers mentioning like the different sections of the trail ABC D etc.? I watch the true heights from the past and I don’t ever remember hearing anybody mentioning that I’m just wondering if this is something new? I may be a way to just break it down so people can just sort of cross it off our mark the progress or if they want a section hike it or a flip-flop? Etc?. Just musing lol! You Guys are doing great making great progress!

    • @anotherpenny1942
      @anotherpenny1942 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the sections are numbered for mapping reasons. So it breaks down the entire trail into smaller sections, and it’s mapped by section. So you don’t have to carry an entire PCT map with you, just carry the section you are hiking. As far as I know, it’s been that way for a long time, but you are right not many people mention the trail by ‘sections’. They normally just talk about the town stops or landmarks.

    • @mjirving29
      @mjirving29 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The sections are labeled also for the logistics of getting on/off trail so they are mainly at the major interstates and highways in roughly 100 miles segments give or take. The letter sections actually go way back. More recently I recall the PCTA going away from using them but they are still commonly referenced and handy in my opinion. A-Q through CA and then A-L from OR through WA with L at the and of CA and A in Oregon being the same and overlapping as that section is in both states.

    My first question and I didn’t hear anyone ask, is why the hell is there uranium in the water? Secondly, it would be nice if the post office offered a service to put your package in a locker, you scan a QR Code from your phone upon arrival to the locker and it opens no matter what time of day it is. -don from Lorain Ohio USA 🇺🇸

    I was going to make a tacky comment about "are Cassies scrawny little legs going to take her all the way to Canada" but after seeing how she kept up with the giant today, I won't ask that tacky question. You go girl. And did I see "him" S M I LE today? Heart be still!!!!!
