I'm a older hiker living in the mists of multiple wildernesses. I appreciate the raw beauty of a high pass and your interpretation of the Mammoth area is hands down the best I've ever seen. Thank you so much.
In my opinion, these are some of the best PCT/JMT videos out there. They capture the reality of thru-hiking, the struggles and rewards. There is beauty in struggle and life lessons to be learned. Well done. Hike on!
I just finished binge watching all 8 episodes. Wow! Thanks for taking the time to shoot, edit, and post these wonderful videos. Thanks for keeping it "family friendly". Thanks for showing the occasional "warts" along with the beautiful scenery and trail. It's not all sunshine and roses. You two are awesome!
Saturday is here and I thought what better way to spend a day than doing a back to back watch of the trek so far. I've watched them from the start as they have dropped and thought I'd binge it all again. From the shin splints, the Bees, the cut knee, the still unexplained bloody nose. From the very first video where Cassie says that her and Rob don't like being on camera it has been a fantastic watch, brilliant commentary, fantastic videography, great soundtrack and a very enjoyable day was spent reliving the journey so far with you guys. At least the umbrellas went early on!!! Can't wait for the next one to drop, you have me hooked!!! ❤❤❤
Thank you. These videos are a lot of work and we have really struggled to produce them with the trail demands and poor service. Comments like this (and certainly many other kind commenters) have helped to make it feel like it’s worth it to keep making them. Thanks for the compliments, they really mean a lot. :)
Absolutely great scenery shots! Nice mix of stills and video. I’m not generally a fan of music, but yours was very tasteful, fitting and well placed. Dialogue was real. Marmot, deers and bears… Oh my! Definitely not Kansas… Such a joy to follow your journey.
As I get ready to do the PCT in 2022 I have watched most of the vlogs done over the past 5 years. Yours are some of the best and actually the most educational without even trying to be.
Just when I thought this video could not possibly get any better you toss in some Ocean by JBT and then sprinkle in a little Eddie Vedder? Yes please! This section is unbelievably gorgeous, I can’t even imagine how it was in person!
Just got off the A.T. after 9 weeks, best my old (66) ass could do. Had a blast, but very crowded. Just discovered you two, so cool. Gonna go back and binge your posts soon as I mow the lawn. Wish when I was your age............well, I'll let you do it for me vicariously. When life is good, suck it in, cause it's not always that way, as you know. Stay safe, carry me along! Crackerjack out.
Hoping you two are hunkered down until this horrendous heat breaks in the Pacific northwest. Be mindful of your well-being during this time. Thank you for taking us all along on this extraordinarily beautiful and incredible adventure. Looking forward to your next vlog...pls let us know how you're doing.
Muir is perhaps the most beautiful pass, and certainly not the hardest, but it's the most soul crushing. It feels like you're just going up forever, over an infinity of jagged softball-sized rocks. Definitely a mental battle.
I have been following you on your journey from day 1, you have done such a great job filming, you are the cutest couple EVER 💑 THANK YOU for sharing your journey !!! OK gotta keep watching now lol
That was lovely! Thank you for making the effort to record and share your journey. You're an adorable couple, and it's a delight to see you experience the highs and lows of your trip. Beautiful scenery. Wishing you well! Cheers!
This is such a great episode documenting your journey. The editing and background music remains superior to any thing I have seen thus far. You two make a great team and I’m so happy to watch each and every episode. I look forward to episode 9. Best wishes!
30:58 I could watch an hour each time. Can't wait for these videos to drop. The scenery is out of this World, the best yet. But the thing that makes the video is you two. When the route map come up I'm like, oh no, it's nearly finished!!! One thing that stood out for me is the video and music, you have matched it perfectly. I don't now how but it really goes perfectly together. That perfect mountain that appears in two shots only? What is it called. I can't be the only one that noticed it. You have both surpassed yourselves this time. Can wait for the next video to drop!!! Happy Trails 👣
I love these uploads. The filming, music and commentary are first class, by far some of the best I've seen if not the best. Of course this means you can never stop hiking.
Just astounding. Breathtaking. The videography, editing, and especially scenery and music. And Andy McKee for the win. Thank you for sharing this epic adventure, and keep up the great work!
Love, love, love your postings!!!! Wonderful filming, editing, and choice of music accompaniment. Thank you for such a thoughtful and sincere story of your journey.
Wow, I was at Devils Postpile back in 2001. Had no idea the PCT went through it although back then I didn’t know the PCT existed. If I remember correctly there was a waterfall a short distance away called Rainbow Falls. -don from Lorain Ohio USA 🇺🇸
Binge watch all 8 episodes. Absolutely beautiful scenery. Love it that you are hiking every step. The filming is fantastic. I’m watching 3 others hiking the PCT. Excited for the rest of your journey.
Guys, haven't finished the entire video, but had to stop and comment-- that 90 seconds from 7:00 - 8:30 was just outstanding!!! Really, really good. Thank you.
So enjoying you journey. You filming is outstanding! You are both very strong hikers. Rob, you are very fortunate to have such a beautiful, upbeat wife. I noted the very best capture of the ascent to Forester Pass as the trail switchbacks up along stone cribbing trail. You are the only ones that I have seen to film that. I remember that very well and still think about the workers that constructed it. Looking forward to your next episode and I’m sure you will be looking forward to dropping the bear canister in a few days. That care!
Look forward to each video! Rooting for y'all 🤠 as a Californian I'm a little terrified of how little snow is up there already, great for trekking! 😬😬😬 pray for 🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️
Epic sights and a hell of a workout through the Sierra’s . Elevation breaths don’t come easy, but you two are handling it great. Again , love the music selection you two do ( ELO) rocks.
It’s pretty fun reliving the Sierras thru your videos. We were caught in a blizzard for Silver and Selden Pass… fun, fun. I’m not sure how she made it across that Virginia Lake Outlet water crossing without getting her feet wet! It was under water when we passed. Nice!
Gosh I love how your videos really include the trail AND the scenery around you. You make the experience of being on trail relatable and so compelling the next video isn't posted soon enough. Not many other hikers are so talented or aware that they leave out such important content. Oh well, some people do love to hear themselves talk and feel filming themselves is more important than the scenery they are traversing. Best wishes to you two and may the trail keep pulling forward and onward.
Beautiful views! Odd looking to gantic crater in the second de of g mountain, early on, before Forester I e heard of drip dry, new one drip wet in the rain!
I ant imagine having the energy to edit video after all the hard work you are putting in. Thank you for taking the time to create something beautiful for us so we can follow along on your adventure.
Love it! Some parts looked really tough but it’s so beautiful. Thanks for sharing your journey with us. The section videos work really well. Happy Hiking 🥾- Julia from the UK 🇬🇧
What a great PCT Vlog Documentary you two have accomplished in volumes 1 - 8. Absolutely outstanding work. Not only that. But you both are such likable people and seem so grounded and confident. Looking forward to watching more videos of your journey. I am positive you will reach your goal of the Canadian Terminus.
You are an amazing couple… I think I’ve said this before but it bears repeating. Really gorgeous country, just wish you weren’t having to come into the heat. Maybe by the time you get into Oregon it will have cooled off some. Be safe you two!
This is breathtaking scenery relentlessly passing by. Especially after the 700 miles of desert it’s marvelous. Truly remarkable footage and as others commented so much reveals thru hiking or just backpacking mountains. Congratulations on great work
I section hiked Kennedy Meadow (south) to Tuolumne Meadow in 2004. Left KM on June 11th of a typical snow year. Muir Pass was the worst :-p I post-holed once below Helen Lake with both legs and had nothing under my feet. After the pass was the worst, tho. Post-hole hell and fell down at least 7 times. I'm impressed you did Selden Pass all the way from Evolution Valley. I barely made it to Salley Keyes Lakes from Colby Meadow (or was it Evolution Meadow?). I believe you have done the most difficult section now, tho I am sure you will still have some challenges with warmer weather, but hopefully no fires. It's thrilling to see the Sierra Nevada, but a little sad to see how little snow and water there is.
As you can see, I am totally behind on your videos... I knew how very little snow there was in the Sierra this year, but damn... There was practically none in comparison to the years before!!!!
Wow you guys have rocked the enormous passes. Muir pass really makes you work for it. Yosemite is more like Rockville. Gorgeous but lots of granite paths, like slick rock not crumbles. Enjoy section “I” as you complete the Sierra portion of the trail. Thanks for posting .
nice to see your message about youtube putting ads on your videos so greedy from youtube to change there policy and don't even give you anything i myself have the subs and watch time to get monetised but don't want to as everybody hates ads i don't want them don't want any viewers or myself to have to sit though a ad
Refreshing to see hikers who make the videos more about the scenery and surroundings and journey rather than about themselves sticking their big heads in every beauty shot. Congratulations and happy trails.
you guys re amazing-- postholing sucks- the cuts, the slowness, the effort.. totally get it Rob, non-stop rocks suck...but if it's going to suck- might as well be with beautiful scenery!!!!rob-- you crack me up...
I hiked the JMT in 2017 and watching this brought back many great memories - I think we camped at some of the same spots! Also met Siren (and her friend Michael) near Kearsarge Pass a couple of weeks ago. Your videos are amazing and I can't wait to see what comes next.
Each time I watch one of your videos, it makes me happy that I subscribed,.. I hate waiting for the next video, but I'm never let down. Keep up the great work,.. ohh cool to hear ELO.
Another AWESOME video.... I have to say I am appalled that you had skeeters so big you had to put bandaids on the bites!! Holy crapamundo!!! Now you two can forge ahead knowing you beat down the hardest section of the trail. Let's see less of the out of breath look and more of those smiles!!!
It's freaky how easy yall make it look. I mean, I knowwwww it's not easy, I've hiked the biggest portion of my 54 years and I've lived in, or in the foothills of the Smokies my whole life. But your videos are sooo good that yall just make it look easy. Another great video....I think this one is my fav so far.
My favorite channel of all the current PCT thru-hikers. Perhaps you've mentioned it before but what is the app/site you use to visualize your traveled route?

Agreed!
Wonderful, probably best yet. Can’t get enough of the scenery. You all are my favorite PCT TH-camrs this year, maybe any year.
I echo this comment! Thanks so much for the quality, scenery and ample narrative!

Gotta love the Eddie Vedder tune! You 2 are the best! You crack me up! Awesome energy!
It's been 38 years since I've been there and your videos are so beautiful...
It brings me to tears.
Thank you...
Loving your adventures on the PCT. Greetings and best wishes from England. 🏴
As I get ready to do the PCT in 2022 I have watched most of the vlogs done over the past 5 years. Yours are some of the best and actually the most educational without even trying to be.
My second time watching this all the way through. Good as the first time!
So thankful that you put so much work into this so we can enjoy your journey vicariously.
I'll be on the PCT in 2023 and this is making me so excited.
Just when I thought this video could not possibly get any better you toss in some Ocean by JBT and then sprinkle in a little Eddie Vedder? Yes please! This section is unbelievably gorgeous, I can’t even imagine how it was in person!
Great video. This is the best one yet.. I really enjoy all the great views.. Keep on hiking, your doing great...
Oh darn! Not enough snow to glissade down the north slope of Forester Pass!
Great accomplishment nevertheless.
Well done! Excited for the next video! Stay safe

Best thing I ever did. Even found my wife (Heart)
Thru hiker 2012
Gone Fishing
Thank you 🤘 greetings from 🇬🇧
Love the music...Into the Wild soundtrack was on repeat during my PCT section hike this year.
This is such a great episode documenting your journey. The editing and background music remains superior to any thing I have seen thus far. You two make a great team and I’m so happy to watch each and every episode. I look forward to episode 9. Best wishes!
This is one of the best Sierra videos ever. Shows so many passes. Loved it. 😊❤👍
Stunningly beautiful! Great job capturing it all! Thanks so much for sharing it with us!
A great blend of helpful stuff and beautiful well edited footage. Lots of thanks from the U.K.
Rob, cheer up. You are on an adventure of a lifetime with a beautiful woman who loves you, this is as good as life gets.

Just astounding. Breathtaking. The videography, editing, and especially scenery and music. And Andy McKee for the win. Thank you for sharing this epic adventure, and keep up the great work!

Agreed. Video and music combined in that time frame was was some of the best I have seen in any Vlog video. Basicly Hollywood worthy.
@@roberttaylor194 Exactly, the synthesis of that music and video was really impressive
Best video so far guys, and a little bit of Into The Wild soundtrack too. Keep them coming, I’d like to see how you’re editing while hiking
I think the edit is on the zero days but it is done perfectly and the music fits the scene each time.
I absolutely love you guys and your videos! You can never stop hiking and filming!!

Half a Native by Buxton. Glad you enjoyed it :)
Nice Vid. If you think that is pretty then I recommend that you come to Peru , Dept. Ancash and hike the Huayhuash trails.

Nicely done
