Thanks BB and O for doing this as a follow up to your great PCT adventure. I asked the Fire Question, we live down the road from the Dixie Fire near Quincy. Conditions have definitely changed here in NorCal the last few years. You are absolutely right that within the changes there is still much beauty, but it was the air quality that really sucked beyond everything else and many weeks this year hiking was near to impossible in this region. After each episode I would often comment to the others in my household that "this hiker couple has amazing mental fortitude that will serve them well for anything". Many hikers are also long distance sailboat cruisers / kayak campers, so give that a look if you are looking for the water version of the thru hike at some point. Cheers and good luck with whatever is next and again thanks for taking us along for the ride.

Just want to say what a real pleasure it was to spend (virtual) time on the PCT with you. My old days (60 plus years ago) of tramping around the Sierra was fun for me but was very different from hiking today. Both of you have great personalities. Kudos.

Never stepped foot on a trail in my life. Probably never will. But I watched all of your PCT videos and absolutely loved them. Including this one. Your sense of adventure is inspiring. Cassie, your laugh is infectious and your smile is like sunshine. Looking forward to following both of you on your next adventure!

I second the piece by piece advise! Thinking about the whole trail can be overwhelming. Just getting to camp or the next town are to be celebrated and looked forward too. Also, enjoy and embrace the full gambit of experiences that a hike can present to you. Great video, I really enjoyed your hike last year. Any future long hikes?

For blister prevention, use compression socks. They’re so tight that they almost stick to your skin, preventing any rubbing action to happen.

Asking someone WHY they hiked the PCT is like asking everyone why they do ANYTHING? Why wear that shirt? Why eat that food? Why take that vacation? Why buy that car, that house, that job . . . No one asks those questions so they should not ask why you hike a trail. I've been hiking the PCT for three year and no one has ever asked me why I do it but people like asking it in Q&A's on TH-cam. Why even make up an answer other than "because we wanted to" :p LOL.
