    Thanks for the little running dot on the map. It gives us an idea of how difficult the terrain is. God Bless!

    Another wonderfully authentic video. You make an amazingly supportive couple! Hoping you get some reprieve from the shinsplints. Take it easy and pace yourselves. Can't wait for your next update.

    I use to get shin splints when I was in the military. They hurt. Only thing that worked for me was rest and a new pair of running shoes. I hope it works out for Rob!
    *Your videos are awesome too, btw!!

    This may help for your blisters , I learned it on the PCT in 2016. Take a sewing needle sterilize it run a piece of cotton thread through your blister leaving 1/4 inch on each side of the blister. It will act as a wick and within a few days it will be healed Goodluck enjoying the videos. OneGear, PCT 16,AT 19

    Love the map at the end. I have been following Nikki Hughes too and she skipped 22 miles of road. I'm glad you did it. The road walk can't be good on you but when you get to the end at least you can say you did it all. Like the breakdown into A, B, C etc, give me an idea of where you have been. Watch out for that leg. Better to take extra zeros than over do it. Love the Channel and rooting for you. Keep it up!!!

    Shin splints are most often caused by shoes that provide insufficient arch support. Using some inserts (e.g. Sole) will probably help.

  • @roger_is_red
    @roger_is_red 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    hey I am a runner suffered from shin splints for a few years but then got orthotics and now I run with no pain. By the way the first pair were useless so depends on who molds the orthotics.

    How do you make contact with local Trail Angels for transport?

    • @driftlesshermit
      @driftlesshermit 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @mikeb7117
      @mikeb7117 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Comments in the Guthook App and Trail Angel Facebook groups are the main sources of info. In Wrightwood, there used to be a list of trail angels in the hardware store that they showed.

    • @HeadingSomewhere
      @HeadingSomewhere  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree with both of the above comments. Sometimes it just happens, sometimes there is contact into to reach out. If they are available it’s a wonderful luxury, but we have met some incredible people who have offered a ride or lodging at their homes never having heard of the trail or what we’re doing.

    • @chrisbentleywalkingandrambling

    • @HeadingSomewhere

      I am editing on trail. Usually during town stops. No laptop, normally would use my tablet but only using an iPhone Pro to do all of the composition. Tricky to get the chores done and make time for the editing.
