I'd be shocked if Armstrong doesn't get drafted in the top 12 picks and by one of the Victorian clubs
Hmm, I think Richmond hold steady and take: 1: Lalor 6: in order of availability and preference Langford/Jagga/Reid/Smillie 10: Armstrong 11: Travaglia 18: Trainor 20: Faull 22: Dattoli 24: Gerryn
Fantastic video…amazing knowledge and video delivery for the draft. 😊
@@deanbeissel2807 thank you 🙏
I’d be pretty disappointed with that haul as a Richmond fan. Keep and use the picks …

I think Richmond do get a key forward in this draft so they can be mentored by Tom Lynch before he departs
@@jieking3569 yeah agree! Jonty Faull a big target 🎯
Spectacular selections once again mate! Quite surprised Armstrong has fallen down the order the way he has in your mock draft but the reasoning is quite sound from what you've said. I am sceptical on the idea North Trade their future 1st with the Saints to land Trainor. It's a good idea to try landing him but I feel it'd have to include more for what's potentially going to be a top 6 pick in 2025 draft. Hannaford to the dogs is a really nice fit. Something feels right about this. Jack Whitlock to North though. Wow. That's a statement selection right there. Again your reasoning is sound and tbh it's a exceptional mold to how he can just learn Darling the key attributes and skills to be a powerful and strong key Forward for the future. Stunned to think Shanahan falls to this point and arguably I think I'd like North to select Jobe as he's got the hallmarks to be both a key Forward and Defender. Brilliant mock draft mate. Everyone walks away happier with those selections I find.
@@ShadowLight-kn7rl thanks for the kind words mate 🙏yeah I love the Hannaford to dogs pick 😂 the Whitlock one is a gut feel! They certainly could take Shanahan!
Great breakdown. I dont think Richmond will take 3 talls in Faull, Whotlock and Dodson. More likely, 3 mids (whoch you got correct), 2 tall forwards and 1 small forward. Tall defenders is currently our greatest strength, and for tall forwards, we are looking for combative types. The Faull pick is spot on, rather than Whitlock i think we would take Gerreyn, who can play ruck (alleviating the need for Dodson) and then Alger with our final pick. As always love your work
@@wilsonwilson8668 yeah you make some good points! Definitely agree Richmond’s back line is its strongest line. I think the pick 10 trade I hypothesised is unlikely, just interesting that those trades can go down! So ultimately, I think Richmond’s strategy will be different
"The Eagles basically can't win the ball and when they do, they can't control it" I hate that I laughed
@@TrueFootyAFL 😂😂😂 sorry mate it sounds brutal when you repeat it back me 😝
@@DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft Hahaha brutal but 100% on the money. Amazing work once again my friend
Great work as always. Bombers want anyone who is not a midfielder. The trade could happen but I have a feeling it would be a different player. Good idea though.
Great job 👏
Thank you 🙏
Lachie Jaques I think from the Geelong falcons looks good. What his draft range
@@andrewadam4869 hey mate, yeah he’s a gun! 30-40 I reckon
@@DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft yeah right. I thought Richmond might take a punt on him at 23, I dont see much point in drafting a Dodson or Gerryn really. you can get a ruck man from the vfl
West Coast didn't HAVE to give up pick 3 at all. Hawthorn already offered us pick 14 before they gave it to Carlton. Still seething about our stupidity. I'd love to get Travaglia but doubt he'll be there at 15, neither will Allan or Lindsay probably. Cooper Hynes is probably our most likely option.
Yeah it’s a bit of a tough pill to swallow! Ideally west coast could draft a mid like Draper at the top end.
Look at the quality Richmond have. This is why they cannot trade away their 3rd pick.
Look at the quality Richmond have. This is why they cannot trade away their 3rd pick.
Decent video but I don't know why u would use a edit that displays footage in red when u can't even make out what players are near the ball on the field
Hard to see tigers not getting one of Armstrong, Whitlock or Shanahan. We need 2 key forwards so we'll get 1 this year and 1 next year
@@benjaminfrazer-synnott6640 yeah 100% as I said the Essendon trade is a long shot, just one that could happen if a club gets desperate. Having said that, I’d be pretty happy with Faull as a second tall.
Reid is similar traits to Shane Edwards
I’d be eternally grateful if Travaglia got to West Coast but he won’t make it to #15 and I think west coast slid down the order only to miss Travaglia, Lindsay and Allan. So a total balls up from trading #3
@@JonGarrood I don’t think all 3 will be gone and if they are it means someone else pretty good has got through! Obv rather hold pick 3 though
@ I hope you’re right, Murphy Ried is rumored to not want to leave Victoria so that limits us if he slides…
Isn't taj hotton a better mid-forward than joe berry due to his ceiling?
@@Gersh7 yeah I’ve got Hotton going to the Dee’s at 9! Love Berry too though, both great attributes
This seems so accurate, but as a Richmond tragic atm i just dont like it. If Richmond can walk away with Lalor, FOS/Jagga (Depending on Pick 2 trade), Hotton, Shanahan, and J Whitlock, I would be so happy. Add Hynes and Dodson - Richmond will win the cup in 2029 🐯
yeah that would definitely be the haul! I don't think the Essendon trade is likely but if Richmond were offered a bounty like that, they'd be stupid not to take it.
@@DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft Also I have some burning questions please draftmaster! 1. If both Jagga Smith and Harvey Langford were available at Pick 5, who would Melbounre Take? And 2. Whats the latest on a pick 2 trade? Apparently Richmond aren't interested per multiple reports, but I don't think I can bear to watch FOS tear up the league in a Carlton jumper. He has so much upside! Not to mention how it feels for a player of his quality to slip to pick 4 (assuming ashcroft bid)
Tell Essendon to shove it and take Smillie
Always love your work you do a great job. My personal opinion is I am not a fan of mock trades. I like the Mock Drafts to be based on the current situation not hyperthetical trades that probably won't happen.
@@jameshotchkin8438 thanks mate! Yeah that’s fair. I thought I’d give this one some flavour. Gives a chance to talk through some stuff related to the draft too!
I'll do 10 for 2 first rounders in 2025. Yep, at 11, I'll take the best available, and our twenty picks plenty of talls for us.
Man Joe berry in that forward line gets me very excited. Do you think freo could be thinking that next year Pickett requests a trade to Freo ? Could that make them maybe pass on a player like berry ?
@@Freo4Life2610 yeah that’s a great observation! I think if they rate Berry as the highest talent it’s a no brainer to take him. He’s so versatile too! I feel if freo were weak in other areas you may pass but I don’t think they are
Nah best available for freo! Our forwards are stacked
Great work mate. Way better content than all these other mongs in the afl TH-cam community.
Happy with Travaglia though seriously doubt he makes it to wc. There are whispers that Reid is another kid who doesn't want to leave Victoria. I felt your sincere pain about giving up pick 3. I'm still dead inside.
haha yeah brutal! it's touch and go, particularly with those teams in Melbourne and saints holding double picks! I think he's the best possible option West Coast can take.
Travaglia. As a personal bias it would actually make trading pick 3 worth it for me (as I would've been happy with taking him at pick 3).
@@spinkscapes775 Travaglia had to make it to West Coast or I thought you’d riot 😂 still touch and go, if I was Melb or saints I’d take him top 10 with the double selections.
Every highlights package I see of him really concerns me with his kicking. Runs his measure and then kicks long to no one. There isn’t going to the space in AFL either so his lack of speed from the contest I think could expose him. I would much rather Eagles take Lindsay.
How does the mock look guys...? Let me know in the comments below!
St Kilda Pick 7 , Josh Smillie , Pick 8 , Bo Allan
@@stephenjago4234 yep! That’s still the most likely
What about Murphy Reid?
Engine - Smith, Reid, Smillie, Langford Strike - Draper, Lalor, Allan, FOS' Would that be your take Dylan
@@Adventurous724 you got it! It’s a combination of role and attributes so they aren’t absolute of course. I’d say FOS is really borderline between engine and Strike. I think he has so many attributes he can play anywhere. Langford and Smillie definitely engine but obviously have some physical benefits of being big too.
@@DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft Thank you for your feedback it is very much appreciated
No way the blues take Draper over Jagga. As Smith develops over the years it allows Cripps to play more forward and extend his career 😉
Fyfe is just a “nice to have” player in Freo’s mix. IMO it’s more a matter of “we have a two time Brownlow medalist. We should play him”. Does not play a role that needs replacing.
I don’t think Essendon would trade their future first round pick, nothing this trade period suggests they will be better than they are this year and are looking to push youth into the side. The Melbourne future 1 is definitely up for grabs though, I think if tobie Trav or smilie are around and Essendon can get back in I think it could happen. Nice video though mate
Richmond will not give up 3 pick. Bad call
Really good video, I would think as a Bombers supporter that Harry Armstrong would be a bigger need if we traded back into pick 13. Smillie is definitely a really good pick, but they have guys like Perkins, Durham, Martin & maybe even Caddy as a hybrid big bodied mid.
If Tigers and North dont swap pick 2 (not including other pick swaps or father & son, academy picks) 1. Sam Lalor (Richmond) 2. A. Tauru (North) (Norths target but may also go with next best midfield after pick 1) 3. FoS (Carlton) 4. S. Draper (Adelaide) 5. H. Langford (Melbourne) 6. J. Smith (Richmond) 7. M. Reid (Saints) 8. J. Smillie (Saints) 9. H. Armstrong (Melbourne) 10. T. Travaglia (Richmond) 11. O. Hannaford, J. Faull or J. Shanahan ... (1 of 3 - Richmond will target a key forward here - if H. Armstrong already taken) This really is a deep super draft. I think you have 6x A+ midfielders, another 8x A, A- midfielders. If i was Richmond, i'd offer 6+20 for Pick 2 .. if North don't want that, Richmond should just keep their picks. They will get another A+ midfielder (likely J. Smith). Can still find plenty of talent in this draft in the top 25 picks. Richmond could and should keep 18 - North still get 20 which will still give them access to a player that still has elite attributes. Tigers could trade swap a F1 for next year for their late picks. Tigers should also keep pick 24 (the first pick on 2nd day i think is too important to trade away). I don't think their is any clear standout this year unlike the last 2 years. However, i think their is more elite talent and the difference between the group of 6 of A+ midfielders is only on style. This years top picks will most likely all be future champions of the game. Has not been another draft like this since 2001. Looking at Tigers draft the last few years, they haven't had any high picks since 2016 given their Dynasty period and trading away their recent high picks for Taranto and Hopper has set back their rebuild. 2024 and 2025 are likely to be the last 2 years before Tasmania enter the field and take many of the top picks for several years. This year and the next - is the time to rebuild, after that it will be difficult to access top talent not affected by the coming changes. Trade only for F1 picks for 2025.
Your top 10 is almost identical to mine: 1. Lalor (Richmond) 2. Tauru (North) 3. FOS (Carlton) 4. Draper (Adelaide) 5. Smith (Melbourne) 6. Langford (Richmond) 7. Smilie (Saints) 8. Reid (Saints) 9. Armstrong (Melbourne) 10. Travalia (Richmond)
I love all your analysis but I just can’t see the Bombers giving up that much for another midfielder, no matter how big he his. Not when they have more much more pressing needs in other areas. I’d rather they look at someone like Travaglia or Armstrong at that mark tbh
A weird choice and dont know what his tank is like but i would put murray in the middle and give him a season to get tongrips with the position. Hes hard at the ball, isnt afraid to dig in has pace a booming kick and has a masive size to him
The worst team in the afl for playing young players and getting the best out of them.
Dylan can't eveb pronounce Serong's nane Its not Serron Ffs
The guys name is pronounced Shay As in Che Guevara How much do you know about him if you can't even pronounce his name
I was genuinely shocked to hear you are a fellow north fan after seeing the tiges pick trade scenario in other videos and this one, if we trade 2 and future first for 6 and 10, surely ask for a something back , a second or 3rd rounder at least
@@kingdarcy28 hey! Yeah definitely a north fan! I didn’t actually condone the future first trade, just said it sounds worse than what it really is. I think if Richmond are keen enough for FOS they’ll do 6 and 18 or 6 and 20 which is solid for North given the quality of forwards around that mark.
@DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft understand that, don't you think if next year's draft is a compromised bunch then the earlier the pick the better? To get in before bids etc, not to mention the top end of what could be a draft that falls off quickly
I don’t see Essendon doing that for Smilie I’d rather they did it for Armstrong!

@@Gersh7 haha sorry mate! Would have discussed them more if they had have kept more of those picks 😝
@@DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft maybe u could do a vid on a world where freo kept their picks and how it affects their premership charge
Exceptional mock draft mate!!! Your analysis and evaluation of the pick 2 trade is spot on and I do feel that a trade for pick 2 alone can certainly net picks 6 and 18 which is acceptable for both parties involved. Loved your reasoning for Melbourne selecting Langford and especially on the idea of them potentially taking Tauru ahead of North. IF they did do that, then North taking Armstrong is a given and by far tbe best plan B to any plan of addressing KP needs. Nailing it mate! Tauru is such a point of difference for North, and especially in tandem for what they have already. Completely agree with the idea of him as the Auxiliary and I'd even suspect the flying Viking gets time up forward too. Will Dawson gets to lock down the emerging key Defender North need moving forward while Tauru could shadow say Charlie Comben and play a rotation with North's line-up in moving Comben or Tauru up forward for more height and aggression while the other sits in the CHB role to cut off defensive 50's. That's a crème de la crème right there. That pick 13 trade in by the bombers absolutely SCREAMS flavour man. Makes so much sense for both sides and is the exact kind of buy in the AFL comp and fan base would want to see. I am salivating to this mock draft so far mate. On the road to Eldorado kind of excitement! Keep up the good stuff!!!
Bombers fan here i was hoping for smiley but I'm thinking its going to be out of our reach
Hey Dylan love your work mate, can’t say as a bombers fan I’d be happy over paying for that pick though, two first rounders next year is not worth it, rather keep them.
Slightly off topic but I think bombers should be trading out pick 28 & 31 for future 2nd round picks before a Kako bid comes in, use later picks (40, 46 53, 54, 65) to match the bid. Then perhaps consider trading back into draft this year at some point late first / 2nd round… with those 2nd round picks just depends how much you have to over pay to get back in. The “tax” of getting back in this year seems high.
great work Dylan, you're the best draft content creator hands down. Looking forward to part 2
@@Benny71453 thanks mate 🙏
Surely if smilie and Allen are still on the board at we taken them at 7 & 8
@@flynnsiassios2788 yeah for sure that’s a big chance! It’s a trade hypothetical so not set in stone but it would be a way of saints bringing more players through the door.
