Are these blokes aware that Will Dawson is on North's list and would be a clear head & shoulders 195+ cm key defender above any other 195+ cm defender in this years draft?
Last time I checked Wil was 201cm and he is barely older than this year's crop because he only just snuck into last year's draft by about a week. Definitely a candidate to lock down a KPD spot next year.
@@gustaaf1892 Furthermore, he's waaaaay better than O'Farrel & Mraz. North need someone to take over from Corr in a couple of years, and you don't do that with pick 2 in any bloody draft mate! FFS, Tauru couldn't even crack an AA spot!
North need to bring in tall defenders and forwards quickly. You could either split a pick and use it on a tall or two. Or push one of the draft picks into next year and try to use it to trade in a key defender in his mid 20s. Fact is that taller guys are longer to develop, so they actually need to bring in talls quickly.
As a North Supporter I believe the preference would be to split pick 2. There's greater value to be recognised and weilded in the 2nd best pick of the national draft. That said if North don't split the pick, I have no doubts they'll select best available. And not just whoever Richmond don't pick in Lalor or FOS. I believe North would back in the selection of Alix Tauru. Why? Because in a even draft with serious depth it begs the question it's no reach for Tauru at pick 2. North get their man of interest, facilitates a list need for both ends of the ground and most importantly its uncompromising in the slightest for what other teams think they can pull over in what can only be a mutually beneficial exchange.
I think if Richmond and North were going to do a pick swap it would've already happened. In fact looking at all the other teams picks you can also see why it hasn't happened with anyone else. No one has what North would be wanting and the depth of the draft itself discourages a 2 for one deal inside the top 14 or so picks. Unless North would accept a first and a future first or 2nd from say Melbourne, Saints, or WCE then I think they won't have any option but to take the best available talent at #2...another midfielder.
We could be depending on what the outcome of splitting #2 is. Personally I don't have a preference between Viking and Armstrong, but there now seems to be more hype about Viking, which could be based on nothing at all. I agree that we have a greater need for a KPF than a KPD, unless Chom is still considered to be a forward option. I prefer to see him as an intercept defender/3rd tall.
for me i would not take two backs if north trade 2 for 6 and say 18, I would want one of them to be a forward to partner Larkey. the exception would be if you could get Tauru and Matt Whitlock who can play both ends really well, so if it turns out you needed him as a back you are not one short, but also look to use him as a forward. I hope Matt is the one which plays both ends, twins get me mixed up. If trainor was there at 18 I would take him too, maybe tauru is the one who can play a little forward as well.
@DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft I guess you also delisted that guy you only got from the tigers a year ago, maybe taking a Whitlock is a bit too similar to a Will Dawson who you already have. also what the hell are you doing with Goad, his vfl stats make it look like he is playing some games as a ruck, some as a forward and some as a key back. haven't seen any vfl games to confirm though.
Richmond don't need to trade. 4 picks in top 11 is going to get you 4 great players No club will trade with Norf for pick 2. Tauru is not a pick 2, and no one will swap. If and if Norf want to trade picks, then either they give offers or walk away
Tiges aint giving 6 and 18. Tiges would give 10 and 23. If North think Tauru is still there at 10 then that is a fair deal as a gun will still be had at 23. What people don't realise is Richmond will get their two gun mids at 1 and 6, no need to give away another pick
@@13conita Are you sure you don't want North to just give you #2 for a F4? Entitled Tuggers supporters who think they can have whatever they want. How about at least three spoons in a row, which right now looks extremely likely.
Pick 10 and 18 and richmonds 2nd round pick would be good Can get tauru and probably the 2nd-3rd best key fwd/def And will probably be able to trade that 2nd rounder back in the next yrs 1st round
Keep dreaming ✨️. Richmond won't give 10,18, and 24 for pick 2. The word is Richmond are very comfortable with their picks and don't need to trade up. There isn't that much between the players in the top 10 to 12 of this draft, so it's silly and reckless for Richmond to part with their hand.
Surely North have already built a big enough Chocolate Factory full of Oompa-Loompas. Time for a different movie, as I'm numb with this repeated looping. I reckon "Valley of the Giants" is a better watch and may also do better at filling the cinema.
Not sure I buy that. I think they don’t rate the draft as high, are expecting a bit of a bounce this season and are worried by how compromised next year is.
@@DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft, I think a top-three pick next year is worth more than pick 12 this year, given the level of player you are getting. I realise they want talent now and not in 12 months.
The reason why we and teams are willing to trade future firsts are: A) this years draft is very strong B) from next year you can trade 2 years into the future, so more options to trade back in to the first round with futures. C) hopefully we rise up the ladder considerably so it won't be as higher pick D) get the talent in now so it develops quicker. We have a great chunk of talent ready to take off! LDU not going anywhere
Not a bad shout! Would essentially come down to how highly Melbourne rate the top 2 of this draft. If they desperately wanted an O’Sullivan/Lalor it would make sense.
@DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft can more than 1 - 1 club be involved in a live pick swap on draft night . So say 3 clubs switch picks at the same time or is this limited
Makes sense for Roos. P2 for Melbourne's P5 plus small change, hopefully secures Tauru and gets some more steak knives. But will Carlton or Adelaide bust the bubble with their 3 & 4? Always a gamble, but perhaps better odds.
Can we please, for the love of God, draft a key forward. If we are drafting Tauru with the intent of playing him forward, fine, but if not, draft a Whitlock, Armstrong, or Shannahan.
Tauru and Chom, the swing twins. Liking that, double trouble. ... and North already traded in some WA old bloke, to help Souv, that can hold his own as a bash crash, it has been reported he knows how to kick & mark too!

Could tauru be used as a forward possibly? Just curious on your thoughts. His contested marking would be a welcome addition up forward
Absolutely! He’s even played mid this season! Great hands, super competitive
@I know many hate putting comparisons on young players but would you have a comp for tauru as a forward?
Surly the Tigers 🐅 could just get Tauru at pick 6 ? if North don’t get him at pick 2 ?

No. Tiges will pick elite mids at 1 and 6 and then look at key position at 10, 11 or 18

Draft Tauru and a key forward. If not, then swing Comben up forward and draft a Cooper Hynes as a big bodied midfielder with their later 1st pick
