    You should do a poll of everybody in the communities ranking of each prospect! Would give the average fan's ranking of each talent. Could also get an average mock draft by doing a community poll.

Thanks alot for all your hard work & great content on all things draft, I think you & the craft of the draft guys are really raising the bar in content in this area which seems really un tapped historically as far as media coverage! what’s the plan next post draft? will you continue to expand & make more content in 2025 around the under 18’s & 2025 draft?

    I don't know how they could facilitate it, but aren't Adelaide keen to move from 4 to 2 in order to get Draper before Carlton. Perhaps Norths future pick could be involved with other clubs perhaps Gws in order to get north something decent as 2nd pick.

  • @kenthodder6333

    Reckon Bo Allan could be a sneaky chance for Melbourne with their first pick. They've picked at the WA prospects extensively over the last 3-4 years and have put midfield minutes into the likes of Rivers and McVee over the past year which could lead them to going after Allan to backfill a role off halfback from day 1 given they lack depth there.

  • @BDub2024
    @BDub2024 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I reckon a huge question is regarding the WA kids. There is quite a lot of talent out there and they've really come on leading into the draft. So will be some real gems late in the draft and rookies. It seems to me that AFL develop the juniors in AFL funded programs in squads which ensures the players are well developed by 18. Whereas in WA the development largely occurs through playing U/19s at one of the nine WAFL teams. The country kids can be 400km plus away from Perth and there isn't the same number of players and resourcing. So development is slower, but by the time they hit 23 they would have easily caught up. Interesting that the AFL funds the Vic kids, but the WAFL clubs (assisted through Eagles and Dockers funding) basically fund the WA juniors. But to me its a huge question. How do you see the kids that are going to be stars, but just haven't had the same coaching, programs as juniors.

    On the subject of the North's future first. Would it not be best to hold on to this as insurance for LDU. It seems if he chooses to leave, North will match any contract forcing a trade. Does holding the pick reduce the threat of someone like St Kilda walking him to the draft?

    Its staggering to me that clubs still largely ignore kids that grow late due to physical maturity being delayed. Furthermore, in most sporting leagues around the world the juniors born at the front end of the age group end up having significant more opportunities and more likely to get drafted. Its amazing in the age of supposed professionalism in recruiting that sides couldn't work out that some kids may be 12 months younger than other draftees, plus possibly 24 months behind in physical maturity... hence explaining why they may not be quite as developed as juniors.

    • @DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft
      @DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah it’s an interesting discussion and a pretty complicated one! The amount of potential athletes that get left behind because they’re less developed would be huge and it’s mainly due to an arbitrary year that they are placed in. Ultimately in a draft sport, there’s no incentive for AFL clubs to involve themselves in this process anyway because they don’t benefit from improving practices, so unfortunately we’ll continue to have these problems.

      If Richmond get a whiff that another club is going to successfully trade up for #2 they might be motivated to outbid them. I think Richmond are keener on #2 than they are letting on. Full control over the top end of the draft should be important to them. The notion that it is very even over the first 5 or 6 is what the fans think, but I'm confident that the clubs would have a clear order of merit.

      @widesreentv หลายเดือนก่อน

      @DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft yeah good point
      Feel like tauru at 4 isn't a bad spot for north though and they miss the risk of melbourne potentially taking him at 5
      1 lalor 2 draper 3 fos 4 tauru
      Seems like a bit of a win for all involved if NM and adel agreed on the trade but yeah definitely depends if crows are interested in jagga

    • @DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft
      @DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @widesreentv yeah for sure! If they’re absolutely adamant they want Draper it’s definitely a play! North would get the slight upgrade in 2025 but wouldn’t get the second first round pick this year which I think they want. It’s interesting, I wonder how much Dyson Sharp is on the crows mind too in 2025.

    If Richmond don’t pick Sid Draper at 1
    It’s beyond redic.
    You don’t not pick on ceiling height for player at pick 1
    Even then if you were going that way it’s FOS.
    Lalor getting hyped as dusty clearly people haven’t done there research dusty wasn’t like him at his age. Dusty was evasive, burst speed and 2 sided in traffic with elite foot skills.
    Lalor isn’t that at all. Not got any of that in his game. People need to research also look it up. I’m over people trying to play out what looks good for views.
    I even remember they doing the same thing with Cam Rayner saying he was the next Dustin Martin. It needs to stop.
    Draper has been clearly best and is by far best midfielder, proven underaged and against men for couple years. We are being vic biased as it’s not been honest and who is the number 1 pick.
    Richmond will mess up if his not selected at 1 and they can get there bull smillie/langford or even possibly a jagga smith at 6.
    But as for pick 1 you take the best player and Sid’s clearly that

    • @diddy3658
      @diddy3658 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@peterkay3440 it’s funny how they are using Dustin against us here though… just because Lalor grew up idolising Dustin Martin and wears number 4 and goes for Richmond means nothing. Pick 1 is a pick 1 it’s an actual joke and our clubs been fully guttered so i wouldn’t be surprised if we fall for this non sense.
      His not even close just because later in Dusty’s career he was more slower like this young bulky Lalor doesn’t mean they the same sort of player. Its not even close Dusty at 18 man he was elusive as and had burst mind you the foot skills were elite if these people actually watched a clip of Dusty at 18 they wouldn’t say this.
      I’ll be absolutely shattered that we blew a pick one and not taken a min 200 plus gamer sid Draper watch we will look at this draft in 5 years time and go yep he was the best.

      You’re actually so wrong. We won’t even be able to break up play his to slow mate. You obviously are seeing a man child in under 18s we are talking afl downy John 🤪

      100% agree.Draper is clear number 1 from what I have seen.and that's alot

    • @diddy3658
      @diddy3658 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ShaneOKeefe-j1k what really annoys me also Carlton will take him at pick 3. Even though everyone on the drafts all say Adelaide just cause his from Adelaide. So again for views which creates non truth about who’s best in draft and doesn’t get any vic hype.
      Ah delusional people. Thinking what clubs needs. Richmond needs neally every position. So it’s clear as you pick the best.
      I don’t care one bit if his 1hr plane flight away from home. His brother arlo was at Collingwood? It does not matter one bit.
      Richmond badly needs a player exactly like him our midfield hasn’t got a burst evasive gut running serging player. His exactly what we build our culture and future with.
      Our clubs changed. We need leaders! His born leader with great professionalism. I’m shocked how bias we are and how we all need to realise dusty was a once off but his not even close to the same as Sam Lalor
      I see Sam Lalor more like a Sam Powell Pepper tbh and I’m not joking either man child without top end ability or even Ollie wines.. that’s how badly we will mess up a pick 1 for his quality.
      If Richmond fall for this non sense with Sam Lalor I say sack the lot of them. Because this picks so clear who’s the best Draper. Who’s got most upside. Which is FOS not Lalor.
      Best players that are eligible to pick
      1 Draper
      2 Fos
      3 Jagga smith and he’d be higher pick if he could play another position other than on ball. and his got a few flaws. But as a footballer his arguably as good as Draper just not athletically/body shape.
      If Richmond want pick 2 that’s when you take best upside.
      If they keep same with pick 6 they need to stick to best. Which by the sounds of it they will have a choice with a smillie/langford which is the big body player or if jagga smith is there you obviously take him.
      At there pick 10-11 which be 12-14 start to look if can get a key tall or what they think they might need or who has upside then. The depth of draft is fantastic that’s another reason why at pick 1 you take best player. (Sid Draper) his that good he was injured and still getting 22 Averaged disposals in national championships mind you he was all Australian as a bottom ager averaged 24. Cuts games opened but his style is exactly how Richmond play serge. Exactly what you build rebuild with massive bonus of future captain. Hence what we did with Trent Cotchin. Changed our culture which is what we need now as club has transitioned you need young leader that will show what is required.
