I'm loving the music being added, Dyl! Great video! Lalor at pick 1 is a big mistake at the start of a rebuild. Why? He's a hybrid mid-forward at a junior level. Hoping we trade pick 7 and maybe a future 1st for norths pick 2. then maybe even 8 and 27 for 12/14 or 15/16. Ideally, I see us getting lalor, hotton, and hynes at these picks.
If you're right and Richmond is infatuated with Lalor, then just take him at pick 1. I definitely wouldn't be giving 2 picks in the top 20 for 1 pick. I heard that Carlton is offering their picks 13 and 14 for WC pick 3. So Richmond will get pick 14 for Baker. I say take picks 1,6,10,11,14,20, 24 and 29 into the draft. There are plenty of good choices in this draft and the more you have it will eliminate 1 or 2 not working out.
The only issue with all those picks is managing contracts, its better to have them staggered, thats the motivation for grouping picks to move up the draft board. Quality rather than quantity.
Yeah i guess it depends how much control you want over your midfield balance. If you ended up with Jagga and murphy reid for example, it might not be powerfull enough and then you’re likely taking key position for half fwds with picks past 10. I’d perhaps get the guys i wanted in the top 10 and sacrifice a pick
West Coast trading pick 3 for picks 12 and 14 and then on-trading one of these for Baker would be some of the worst trading you've seen outside of certain Gold Coast trades in a long time. I'm thinking early Freo days level of bad. Surely West Coast are not so silly as to contemplate this as a legitimate option.
SO... If the Saints don't split their picks with with another club ie GWS... Then really its a clear path for Richmond to get Sam Lalor... I mean it feels like the Saints are almost using having to use 7 and 8 to get Sam Lalor.... and that is if West Coast don't go for Lalor. I think the Eagles will go for Lalor.... The midfield list is aging... and another top end talent to play with Reid...
The fact that nearly every WCE member does not want Baker at all has finally been picked up on by Don Pyke so the Hawks trade was good news for us wont be giving a pick 14 to uncontracted Liam Baker, if Baker wants WCE come via the psd or go to Freo So over Richmond's demands for uncontracted player
I think the Tigers will try to secure 10 & 11 early in the week from Freo for Bolton, then offer Baker & pick 10 for pick 3, then offer pick 6 & 20 to Nth for pick 2.. So Tigers end up with picks 1,2,3, 11 & 23, (if we squeeze it from GC).. Am I dreaming?
I think there's a good chance we (West Coast) take O'Sullivan or Lalor at 3, assuming that either are still available. If Richmond or St Kilda want him they either have to jump ahead of us to pick 2 or trade with us directly to pick 3. I think if St Kilda offered us picks 7 + pick 15 that would be about the money, but we'd have to consider whether we want to miss the first six players of the draft (who are projected to be the top-tier mids). Of course if a Tauru or Armstrong goes in that mix then a top-rated midfielder will be available to at pick 7 anyway. I also expect that our future first might be on offer to jump back into this draft again which might be appealing to Essendon. Personally, if we get Langford/Draper (pick 7) + Travaglia (pick 9) + Lindsay/Allan/Berry (pick 15) in exchange for pick 3 and our future first I'd be pretty stoked.
I reckon it's because freo prioritise WA talent, so i don't think they will chase lalor since he's victorian. However isn't it worth to priorities the talent, instead of guys like shai who's probably got a bit selfish at time, and hence doesn't reflect freo values and baker who's a west coast fan?
Ludicrous opinion, has 5 years to run on his deal and is good for 25 touches a game, look no further than Prestia who's also struggled with injuries while at Punt Rd for some perspective. Guessing you're a tigers fan from your username so maybe try being optimistic about Hopper's upside.
@@edvverd ask the Tigers supporters what we think of him so far..extremely unreliable …I hope I am wrong but I haven’t seen anything to suggest how he can be anything other than an average player …
I really disagree with the suggestion among some commentators that the pick swap between Carlton and Hawthorn has somehow damaged WC. Hawthorn gave up pick 14 and got Carlton's F1 and F2 in return. Hawthorn's future picks (they now have 2 first-rounders and 2 second-rounders) could easily be used to facilitate a deal with WC for Barrass, and WC could then use those picks to trade for Baker. It simply means that these deals would be done with future picks rather than 2024 picks. I'm a WC supporter, and I'm ambivalent about whether WC should be pursuing Baker (particularly for a first-rounder), but the overreaction to the Carlton-Hawthorn pick swap has been wild.
Yeah that’s fair, i don’t think it’s necesarily bad for west coast. I wouldn’t be pushing to hard for Baker anyway if i was the eagles. The issue with next year’s draft is it’s filled with QLD academy kids and key pos talent. If you’re in the midfield market it’s not the go!
Yeah, I'm talking more about the SEN and Trade Radio chuckleheads who lost their marbles yesterday. OMG, the trade period has been "blown up" by a pick swap! It was embarrassing. Regarding the Barrass trade, we probably assume that any first-rounder involved ends up with Richmond in exchange for Baker anyway. And there's still a first-rounder and change in the mix, so I was baffled by the overreaction. Very curious to see the best offer for pick 3.

Ignore hopper …he isn’t part of future plans in terms of starting midfield ..he is massively unreliable
@@jtiger1062 injury prone and not very good. Only gets a game when we have an injury free list if they are selecting on contract length

Rioli isn't worth pick 6 Richmond are dreaming if they think that.
