Thoughts on Paul Harrell
Paul Harrell, unfortunately, passed away recently. But I think Paul’s success-and his legacy-proves that people still value honesty, integrity and authenticity. And I think that bodes well for the online gun community. RIP, Paul.

    Germans make all kinds of complex stuff just for fun. Take a look at how a sturmgewehr works in full auto. The russians did the same job, but with ten parts less... al those weird torsion springs. I love this gun and it's good to see that the buffer is available. If I move to a democracy, I will buy one, for sure. In Brazil they cost a kidney and an eye (and maybe a third eye too).

    The Beretta 9000s not only looks great, it can save your life if need be, and, it would make one hell of a nice looking paper weight too. If that's the firearm you own when it's needed to save a life then don't hesitate to use it? An attacker won't laugh after he's been shot by it.

    I owned one in 45acp. She was fat. I have XL hands so I found it comfortable. Field stripping sucked. I would keep a plastic pen cap to remove the slide stop for take down. I think sales were poor because it was a thick gun and had many safety features. If i remember correctly, I think it was marketed as the worlds safest pistol? People hate safe. But it was a pleasant shooter even with 45 +P and it was insanely accurate. Very slick slide action.

      @@shootsouthpaw7771 I kinda wish I would have tried one in .45-I tend to think the .40 version was kind of an afterthought. All they did weld spacers in the mags and tighten the bore. Love the unique design & high-quality manufacturing of the pistol; and the high velocity and ballistical features of the ammo make it a great range or vermin pistol. Quite a conversation piece among my firearm collection too! Plenty of on-line ammo available, albeit not as cheap as before covid....

      Nice! It's an endearing gun--and it's really fun to shoot. I sold this one. At some point I'd like to get another one in a little better condition and see if the accuracy is any better. But can't argue with a powerful handgun that works every time. Thanks!

    I don’t need more than 8 rounds for carry . For home defense is 15+1 . Self defense is right in front of you you unload a mag that would mean he is running away or far in the distance which you go to jail . Real self defense is 1-3 shots there no more time for anything else . That’s why people get charged with murder when they can really understand what’s self defense . It’s quick right in front of you and no time to reload or thinking you need to 15 shots

I don't really use kydex holsters, but I know JM Custom Kydex is highly regarded--and I'm pretty sure they offer holsters for just about every gun that's currently in production. I’m a Springfield guy from way back. I like my XD 9 but last week I went out and bought the Hellcat Pro. It’s my favorite sidearm now. I’m here to get a review on my all time favorite 1911-A which I will be picking up on Friday. Springfield has many models of the 1911 so I been checking them out. I like this milspec because I like the traditional look. I looked at Colt but I don’t want to spend $ 1,200+ bucks for one plus Springfield is my go to. I’m looking at the Ronin but I don’t like the lightening hole trigger. I think this is the one I’ll be getting in Friday. It’s close to a $grand but that’s in the budget.

      Nice! The Ronins are cool. Look into the Garrison, as well. It's kinda between the Ronin and the Mil-Spec. I purchased my DCP89X Series in 1992. Which came with a second barrel & recoil spring for 30 luger to go with the 9MM. Which was a nice option to have. It's been my EDC ever since, as it's a great fit for my large hands. And with its weight there's little muzzle climb & stays on target. So there was no need to have this ported. However I did upgrade the sights for an adjustable rear sight picture. And keeps me within 0.5'" @100' groupings. The only jam it's ever had was some strawberry jam I dropped on it one time. Lol I'm well over 20K down the pipe and never fails to go bang. Even after never cleaning it for a yr once. I won that bet, never had a misfire. So the P89X is like owning 2 handgun's.@15+1

    I have an early 1990s full-size DP51 that was imported by B-West of Tucson, AZ with the lanyard loop. I bought it off a friend of the family (about 2005) when he could "no longer own" it. The accuracy is acceptable but not great. It came with 2x (marginal quality) factory 13-round (flush fit) magazines, and I obtained a 3rd one in a FLGS about that time. At some point about 10 years ago, I bought 3x blued S&W 5900-series 15-round Mecgar magazines from Numrich that were actually stamped "DP51" and not "S&W" or "5900" as most were usually marked. About 2 years ago (after they moved to Winder, GA), I contacted LHI directly and bought 3x of their proprietary polymer mag bases which allow the 15-round Mecgar mags to be used with no danger of over-insertion (which could bend the feed lips). I occasionally carry mine in a Fobus SH-21 roto-paddle basic holster.

    First pistol I evet bought in 1998. Terrible trigger and the levers on it are like razor blades. Reliability was good though. Does nothing a 92 compact doesn't.

      @HipsterTactical 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I have a D spring in mine. The trigger is actually great. I think the rotating barrel gives it plush, silky feel you don’t really get with anything else-and the thing is very accurate. But I 100% agree on the levers. Racking with the safety on actually helps.

      This P229 is becoming my go-to mid-sized gun, as well. It shoots well, it's reliable and it has a reasonably smooth DA pull. Generally concealable with a decent belt. Thanks!

    I got a Px4 compact not long ago. Before then, I was carrying my Ruger Max 9. After I tried the Beretta, my max 9 was gone the next week! Could not be happier with it and shot a better pattern with it right out of the box than I ever did with the Ruger, and pretty much every other handgun that size.

    • @HipsterTactical
      @HipsterTactical วันที่ผ่านมา

      Doesn't surprise me at all. There's a certain magic with Beretta's rotating action. The PX4 is such a natural, intuitive shooter. Thanks!

    I love Walther, after trying a ton of single stacks the PPS was the winner for me. But man do they suck at innovation and listening to their fans. Want a high cap, red dot PPS? Nah heres a PDP in green tho...

    • @HipsterTactical
      @HipsterTactical วันที่ผ่านมา

      Haha. And don't forget the comped PDPs with mag-wells and the threaded PPK/S... that they just announced at TEQfest. Yeah, kind of a disappointment. I still think we'll see a compact 9mm at some point. The PDK trademark still hasn't cleared, last time I checked. Thanks!

    If Walther comes out with a double stack PPS, it will without a doubt be my favorite gun and the new and only carry gun for me. And if it's cut for an optic, I just might sell all my other striker fired compact and sub compact guns.
