CZ P-10 C Review: When "Good Enough" Isn't

The CZ P-10 C (P10, P10C) embraces the Glock 19's fundamental formula, but offers remarkably intuitive shooting dynamics that exceed what we expect from similar pistols. Beretta PX4 Compact Review: The Reality Check Pistol
I carried a P89 for six years as a reserve police officer. I still own the pistol and I love it. I come from a Ruger family, Dada had a Blackhawk and a Security Six, at the range I never had a malfunction with my p89, it is a rockstar of a pistol. Heavy yes, bulky yes, reliable yes.
The beretta was more expensive however sig replacement parts and magazines cost more . I the end they are both perfect .
@@RichiesHouse Yup. That was my understanding as well. And agree-they’re both excellent. Thanks, brother. Hope you’re doing well!
@ found a w German 220 new in the box today at a show . Original box 1995 and even target from sig factory with 3 holes . It smelled like 30 years in a basement the box and gun and paperwork . Thank god all the youn guys buying micros and passed this .the mags were still in plastic . Going to the range tomorrow
@ ohhhh nice!!! Congrats. I need to get a full size p220 again. I’ve got the P245… but it feels like something’s missing.
@ I regret so much trading my w German 220 years ago back to a ffl for something else . Never again .
Dude, why? Really why? I’m a grumpy boomer, not ever even close to a hipster, and I rock a P07, 01, 09c, and 10c. Along with a few non CZs. I prefer DA/SA hammer fired, but I do own a striker fired pistols as well. Owning CZs is simply a smart decision if you like reliable great shooting guns. And we all know Boomers are the smartest generation 😂 🤣.
@@maybe5883 I agree (about CZ being a smart decision 😉). But the gun-culture zeitgeist has decreed that CZs are hipster guns… so I am obliged to parody that perspective, with a tongue-in-cheek motif that grossly over-indulges the stereotypes. 😎
Heck, didn't the P10 place a very respectable 2nd in MAC's torture test? Second only to the Slovenian Rex Zero?
Make more videos!!!! Your videos are the best!
@@shanegrimmett7 Thanks, buddy! Really appreciate it. If you can find someone to write this presentation comparing brand communication strategies in the smartphone category… I will happily focus on gun content instead 😁

That intro was so spot on and perfect
@@Alexanderofthe9th Thanks, my friend! Appreciate you watching.
I want one . Can’t justify why I’m an Ak guy . My buddy has one and h&k pistols have grown on me

Sig was also my first love of guns, it all started in Counter Strike when I was about 8 or 9 (I'm 33 now). A really fantastic manufacturer for firearms and I owned a p229 and p226 from 2014 to last year. I came to the conclusion that I am cursed with small hands that are just slightly too small for the frame of these pistols and it kind of messes with my ability to be consistent. I sold my Sigs off to a friend for his grandson and I picked up a Walther PDP, I can't complain, the Walther is pretty awesome for a polymer pistol, but I sure do miss fidgeting with the Sig decocker lol.
Oh, yeah… Half Life and Counterstrike were dope. Funny-I have really small hands too and I kinda felt the same way about double stack Sigs. But, no joke, Hogue’s Contour Classic G10 grips changed hi-cap Sigs for me. My P229 and P226 are like laser beams now. If you ever get another, try those grips! Thanks, my man!
@@HipsterTactical Will do, thank ya
I love that you are laying down some truth here. I’m not a Glock enthusiast AT ALL, but they’re reliable…Glock makes a decent pistol I must admit. But being one of the only firearms manufacturers that had as big of a buzz feed around them and so many years have gone by with every Glock fanboy and fangirl touting the design like it’s the end all pistol, I can see why people as of 2024 like to hate on them, however they [Glock] aren’t crazy famous with one of the most hard headed and staunchly dedicated fan bases for no reason. My point, which I believe is your point as well is that they’re nowhere near the quality of the P-10…I’ve never held a more balanced Polymer framed Pistol…or fired a striker design that has a totally crispy and definitive, clean break with small reset. Not crispy like a 1911, or any single action hammer fire gun, but damn good considering the P-10 has displayed zero creep and uber consistent trigger travel, and that is a shocker for me, because most striker fire pistols I’ve fired had what felt like a variable on when the trigger wall would break and the gun would discharge. Not the P-10. Same wall every shot, every time. Lastly, not that really matters where it counts, but the P-10 is also sexier in looks than any Glock I’ve ever laid eyes on. Great review man, I have the same view. It’s a Glock Grinder.
Thanks so much for the compliments, my friend. Yeah, I think we’re on the same page… Glocks are good guns. No doubt. But with the work CZ put into ergonomics, trigger and overall feel, I just feel-objectively-the P-10 is a better product. Glocks have always “won” on paper, in terms size, weight, capacity, reliability and price. But think CZ adds a layer of enhanced shootability into that equation. Thanks again and take care!
AREX redesigned the G19 via CAD. Bubitz (former Glock Engineer) developed the new Steyr M9. S&W claims an excellent polymer 9. CZ has a long tradition... only makes sense that improved iterations would come along.
I defintely agree, love my springfield mil spec.
Thanks! It’s a damn good shooter.
i don't like the feel of the CZ, any more than I liked the feel of the glock, which is not at all.
Haha. Fair enough.
Shot a Glock, shot a CZ...now own a P10F, C and S. Bang for the buck can't be beat. I had to adjust the rear sight on 2 of the 3, but that's just part of owning a gun. Also did some polishing on the firing pin/block, trigger group, etc and it got even better! Might look at springs next. I might be a 1911 guy at heart...I gotta tinker and tweak!
Cool, man. Yeah, the trigger is already good… but I know there are solutions to make it better. Either way, it’s a great starting point for a great shooter. Thanks for the comment!
@HipsterTactical I agree. I'd be disappointed if it was perfect out of the box and there was nothing for me to tweak on. 4.5# Glock firing pin springs are in the mail and a DPM recoil kit for the C. We shall see.
I choose Glock pretty much because they are generally the lightest versions of whatever pistol they are. My CZ75b was awesome but so heavy.
P07 was probably the most durable and reliable pistol I ever owned. Is the P10C going to be that reliable??
If you only had one pistol Hk would be that one.
@@DTcl6dw Well, I only have one HK pistol at the moment… and it’s a P9S. I haven’t shot a P7, but the P9S is one of my favorite shooters. So I guess that’s my answer. Thanks!
This 'review' or thoughts on the P-10C is easily the most accurate and realistic to what its like to own a P10C. I've owned Sig, Canik, Glock and went to a local gun show and was able to handle dozens of 9mm options. At its price point of $550 and bellow, its easily the best option out there. If i go up in price, then the more refined H&K, Sigs, Walther's and Gucci-Glocks start to make it apparent why those cost 25-100% more. I see this firearm as a the perfect, utilitarian tool. Its like a Casio G-shock if you were to compare it to watches. Its giving you a lot for your money, but its not trying to be anything more than what its intended to be. I really appreciate his perspective on the trigger. I too feel that the trigger could be made better. But here is the thing, It's already better than Sig and Glock, so why should it be any better? its because the platform / foundation is SOO good that it can handle it. It's like driving a base model car like a BMW 320i and noticing a bit that the balance and proportions are excellent. You start thinking, 'wouldn't it be great to tune it?' Next things you know you've got a M3. It is all because the foundation to start with was able to reveal the opportunity for more. Nobody would ever think that for a Prius because it was compromised from the beginning. That to me is why the Gucci Glocks dont make sense. Yes, they feel and shoot great, However, you are having to fix all the problems/flaws to just end up paying 2x the price.
Cz is amazing. It’s without one of the best handguns you can get and extremely affordable. Everyone that told me otherwise at the range went and bought one after shooting mine

@@wyattreeves5608 I believe it. The P-10 kinda redefines the niche it plays in. Thanks, brother!

TISAS all day long 🇹🇷🇺🇸
FYI: Since your SIG P220 is a German made Stamped Slide Model you should get NEW SIG Recoil Spring or perhaps get the Wolff Spring Hammer which will help cut down the felt recoil and slow down the slide since the Hammer Spring is actually part of the Recoil System by Helping to Slow Down the Slide Velocity. I know that this is a TWO Year Old Video but one thing that I always recommend to people that buy a used Semi Automatic Pistol is to get a Refurbish Kit from Wolff or from the OEM like SIG SAUER who also packages all the Critical Springs that need to be replaced about every 3-5K rounds to keep the pistol in Tip Top Shape. I am a BIG Smith and Wesson Third Generation Fan and I started my Collection with a Very Good Shape California Highway Patrol TSW4006 Tactical(40SW 4006 with the Accessory Rail Milled onto the Dust Cover of the Pistol instead of the Bolted On Rail of the Early TSW series. The Agency Contract LEO/MIL Pistols like the CHP TSW4006, TSW4566 and other have Beefier Slides and Frames that just Soak Up the Recoil no matter the ammo you are shooting. I have also added a very Limited Edition Lew Horton SW Performance Center 4006 Comp which is a Tricked out pistol with a AWESOME Trigger Job plus a Bar-Sto Barrel and Two Chamber Compensator that was made back in 1991-1992 and only 194 pistols were released for sale thru Lew Horton and it shoots like a Dream. My latest addition is my SW4506-1 police trade in that I got in EXCELLENT Condition. I am still interested in getting a 5 inch 4006 Tactical which also used a Match Bar-Sto Barrel with Briley Barrel Bushing and was also done by the Master Gunsmiths at the Performance Center in the early 1990s. Here is the link for the SIG Springs from Wolff: www.gunsprings.com/SIG-SAUER+(SIGARMS)/P220/cID1/mID4/dID6 Make sure that you get the Hammer Spring for the Older German P220 which is slightly different that the current design. Here is the Springs for the SW: www.gunsprings.com/SMITH+&+WESSON/NUMBERED+SERIES/cID1/mID58/dID261 If you are shooting Heavier or Hotter Ammo than 230gr FMJ you should upgrade your Recoil Spring to 18 or 20 LBS Spring which will make your felt recoil much softer that when using the 14 LBS OEM spring. I have started to carry my 4506-1 and I have it loaded with Underwood 45acp Plus P 185gr JHP ammo with a Muzzle Velocity of 1200 FPS and Muzzle Energy of 592 Ft/Lbs but I recently pickup 400rds of Double Tap 450 SMC 185gr JHP Controlled Chaos to be used in my SW4506-1, TSW4566, HK USP45 Expert and Langdon Tactical USP45 w/Optic Plate and for my Springfield Armory TRP Operator Full Rail 1911 Pistol. The Double Tap 450 SMC 185gr JHP has a Muzzle Velocity of 1350 FPS and Muzzle Energy of 749 Ft/Lbs which puts it very close to 10mm Auto numbers but with a heavier bullet.
Regarding "Cheapness" I never really looked into the P-series variants and their specifics until I got P-89. Whenever someone mentioned "Ruger P-series" in my head I pictured a P95 with a cheap looking scuffed up plastic frame. The metal frame guns are really pretty nice quality in my opinion. Getting mine used in near-excellent condition for $250, I think its better quality than most new-manufacture guns you can get today for $250
92, 226, usp all best of the day sa modern era . The 3rd gen da sa although some of my favorites are simply versions of the 39 from the 1950s with upgrades . The 3rd gen smith is amazing and great for carry and police work but couldn’t handle the high round round and environment testing that the big three could . USP is king of durability and 226 and 92 are equal in reliability and durability but need more Maintenance and parts replacements then USP. In the end no one will wear either of these find out unless they getting free ammo for life . And at best a guide rod spring and new mags can keep these guns running decades . Take your pick , 92,226,USP are guns you can trust with your life .
Got a Glock 17 Gen 2 as well with a DPM Systems recoil reduction guide rod. It is so far the softest shooting and most accurate 9mm I have tried so far. With a Ghost Trigger Bar in it as well, the trigger pull is nice, smooth and consistent with a short reset. Gun snobs like to dunk on Glocks but they really are worth the hype.
Hipsters for Cz ,Canik For Mechanics 😂.
Matt’s enthusiast clarity on the action, testing, comparisons & 226’s place in trends of history, not withstanding a romantic infatuation w the tactile elegance. Thank you!! On the list
I have to quit watching the PX4 videos. Makes me want to buy one. There are a LOT of police trade-ins available now for incredibly low prices.
@@DadHominem oh really? Any .45s?
❤I like how it looks.
I've never seen that price before but that is a beautiful thing
One of the best single stack duty 9mm made ever
I like Sig but I'm not thrilled to hear about this issue, I have a P938 Legion that also has a guide rod issue (it's a 2 piece) and a cast-forged - mim) part, they come unscrewed in use and must be Loctited by the owner lots of postings in forums. Mine actually broke at the "cap" end, of course Sig replaced it under warranty but the part is "sub par" in my opinion and it is also made in India. I was interested in the carry version of the 210 but now that I know of the 210 issue maybe not so much. I will be looking for your full review, thanks!
Yeah, it’s ridiculous that Sig refuses to acknowledge and fix this issue. But in my opinion, the issue is minor-and the gun is phenomenal otherwise. I’m a fan of the OG Sigs, but this gun exudes quality. I’ll also say that the P210 Carry uses a different recoil assembly so it’s completely immune to the breakage issue. Thanks for the comment!
@@steven3379 I have a little bit of a bitter taste in my mouth too about newer Cohen era sigs myself too!! It stinks as this p210 among some others are really cool guns!
To make it worse, SIG is aware of the issue with the P938 two piece guide rod and the current generation of P938 SAS uses a modified slide with a single piece guide rod but which is NOT backwards compatible with the older slides and SIG refuses to update any of the other models of P938 to this new slide and recoil assembly!
Excellent always!!!! Those grips sure ad a nice look to it too Matt!
Thanks, Shane! Appreciate your support. Also… I think I came across your 9mm P220 on GB. Haha. Nice piece. If I get a little money… we’ll see! Thanks again!
@@HipsterTacticalwhat a small world Matt! That would be really cool to see thr p220 9mm in yiru channel!!
Thank you, you are a lifesaver, this grip is a perfect fit to the Beretta 9000s.
@@tonyrosado6137 Glad they worked! And thanks for watching.
It’s the gun from breaking bad and fight club and Miami vice Should I get it like is it accurate reliable and good?
How much you want to sell that g17 gen2 for?
Don’t take your finger off the trigger in between every shot
It's a great pistol for everyday open carry.
So it can shoot 45 Super all day every day straight out the box with no modifications? I plan to buy the 5 inch barrel HK 45 USP Expert with the HK made 22 round extended magazine.
The P10C is my favorite striker fired pistol ever. I’ll never get rid of mine.
@@KGBBooks Yeah, I feel you. I think the Walther P99 is still my all time fave striker gun… but the P10 is up there. Thanks!
Ergonomics “speak” to larger hands - long fingers. For someone with smaller hands, it would not be the best ergonomic choice. In terms of toughness, reliability and overall resilience - there is nothing better. For those looking for the awesome HK “LEM” firing mode, you will need to go with a newer HK model.
In the 80's I found a copy of Gun Digest with a very extensive article on the Seecamp DA Conversion on the HP-35. Unfortunately Only a Prototype had been done unlike His DA Conversion for the 1911 which was mass produced. But the Article also went into depth about how the British SAS had gone to FN and asked Them to produce a DA HP-35 for Them and that's how the FN Browning HP DA was Birthed. But it did not reach the Civilian Market for a few more Years especially in the USA as I tried to get one for years but no one was Importing them till late in the 90s. I'd like to see You pursue an interview with a SAS Armourer or A Pattern Room Armourer that has direct knowledge of the SAS HP DA History and may be able to show, demonstrate and disassemble a SAS HP DA. Thanks for the video.
I had CZ P10S previously and now I own G19 MOS as they are close in size. P10s shoots great and the trigger is definitely better than stock Glock trigger, but new Glock performance trigger is superior to CZs trigger. And since Glock is easier to mantain and replace parts, has cheaper mags and where I live its almost the same price P10 kinda lost point for me.
If you’re too much of a candy ass to handle a 10 mil or a 40 S&W, then you have no business being an agent start with witches, keep softening in dumbing down or peoples capabilities 10 mil it’s not a big deal 45 ACP he’s very similar shoot it all day and I’m an old man give me a break already. What are bunch of candy ass
I’m not a trigger snob. My stock G48 trigger was horrid. It now has an Apex.
The trigger on my G17 is... useable. Not as good as the P-10 though.
My 10F is fantastic. The 10C is just a tad shorter.
Great review. Fantastic gun.
