I think that Cyclops-Jean Grey-Wolverine and whoever women is a victim of poor writing. The reason why Madelyn Prior existed was because they wanted to retire Cyclops as a character and actually give him a happy ending. But X-Factor came in and just yoink Cyclops back in by just straight up just leaving his wife, Madelyn, which I think was pregnant during that time? I'm not sure about that anymore. From that point, it was just confusing love triangle soap opera weird romance which sometimes I think it's just a forced made up drama for the sake of drama As for the X-Men 97, it's weird but also in a gray area. Sure Cyclops loved Jean Gray, but she was gone. Then returned as a clone, not knowing about it. Cyclops is technically and legally married and had a child with the clone, so was it really cheating when he was doing that mind sex in the show? I won't argue if it was or wasn't cheating since it would just boil down to perspective. But after that scene, Wolverine and Jean decided to comfort each other with their tongue. It's really head scratching... As good as the show and the x-men comics are, those weird love triangle is one of the worse parts

Here’s the thing about the relationship with rogue and magneto. The fans well told in advance that they were going to do this and they hated it and were telling the writers not to go down that path and they did it anyway. Thankfully he’s since been fired from the show altogether. If you want to know who was responsible for that story it was beau de mayo and he’s a straight up creep in real life.

I know you were just using Foggy from Daredevil as a bit, but he actually has a good reason to be pissed at Matthew in this scene. 1. Foggy and Matt are lawyers and partners. Foggy believed at the time that the law was the right way to stop a villain and that vigilantism is wrong. 2: Matt didn’t just lie about the secret identity, he also has been lying about his abilities since they met in college before he put on the mask. Every time Foggy lied, Matt knew and pretended to not know. Every time Matt walked around with the cane, he could have moved better than Foggy could. Matt lied not only about the vigilantism, but also important aspects of his normal life that could have helped in their personal lives and their law pursuits more if they were both on the same page. 3: Matt almost died the night that Foggy found out. Foggy helped nurse him back to health despite the lies. 4: Because Matt was off doing hero work, often times Foggy was forced to handle the lawyer things by himself despite the fact that they’re partners. There have been trials and jobs that he was kinda screwed over because of it. Matt genuinely treated Foggy badly, especially in the 1st and 3rd seasons of the show. It was still funny to see him in the video though.

Ironic that in the comics Rogue and Deadpool are one of the few characters who have a healthy relationship that dosen’t include cheating and drama.

Gambit is My favorite character and rogue is one of my favorites too, the actions that she did were kinda stupid but clearly this is all set up for season 2, gambit is obviously coming back through apocalypse and I believe this will come with a fantastic story between gambit and rogue.

Superman and Lois Lane are just an all time great comic book couple. That’s the gold standard, and a prime example of a superhero having a non superhero love interest that works.

I'm seeing a bunch of female characters in male focused shows with a lot of potential just being written as negative stereotypes. It's okay to write a female character as naive, selfish, vain, all of the above. But don't glorify it and have the male interest end up with her. But when those negative traits are the only thing that these love interest only shells of characters are written at it's just insulting. You can be a good, strong, complex character and not have powers. You can have character flaws and still be a good character, but this just isn't it.

I think an issue is modern writing hits a contradiction with super heroes and their love interest who is just an ordinary person because they want to beat the trope of a woman being in love with the hero but is used by villains, instead they want the love interest to be strong and independent which butts heads with a super hero genre, so the writers are trying to have their cake and eat it too. This is why TASM Gwen worked well since she was basically just an ordinary girl in high school who liked Peter. This is also why a lot of the time super heroes like spider man and black cat are liked together by fans or Batman and catwoman and so on because the power balance are near each other that it is believable that they’re still strong and independent and can be in a relationship with the hero without being a possible burden

I hate what has happened to MJ. She was one of the BEST love interest in comics. Even before she knew he was Spider-Man she supported Pete and they were amazing friends. Then when she knew his identity she'd help where she could in his civilian life and supporting him emotionally. Because they were so good together writers keep using the shock value of ruining their relationship as drama. However it's been done so much that it's ruined the public perception of MJ. Now it's not a novel thing when they have relationship issues, it's just the norm.
