I still sing "Be prepared be prepared this lesson must be shared..." to a lot of people when something's happening. Unfortunately nobody gets the reference outside of my family😢
I’ve been trying to get my girl to watch this for like 5 months now. If I weren’t overseas for work I’ve steady clockwork Oranged her already. This for comedy and monster house for being the scariest children’s movie of all time. I remember seeing it with my nephews and nieces in the theater and kids were crying in fear and I was laughing my ass off.
About time someone talks about this peak cinema I quote it with my family daily “Watch out for Keith.” And “flippers! Go flippers!” Lives rent free in my head And the goat really is a 🐐
I would love to see a video about bringing back good heroes. And I’m not talking about antiheroes or grey heroes. I mean bring back the real good heroes, the altruistic self-sacrificing “I wanna save someone” heroes I’ve been missing for a while now. One example I can think of is Horton from the Jim Carrey Dr Suess animated movie Horton Hears A Who. Horton is legitimately the most selfless hero protagonist I have ever seen now that I think about it. The intro for the movie has him established as a fun loving guy who also happens to be a very responsible when it comes to the kids. Sure, he’s clumsy and not really the brightest elephant, but you gotta admit, he does live up to his reputation. Then he hears the speck from which the other main character in this movie Mayor Ted of Whoville lives, places it on a truffula flower, and as he gets to know Ted (whom he only knows as the Mayor), his goal throughout the whole movie is to find a safe place for Whoville to live unharmed. Think about it. He’s not trying to cause a revolution, not telling everyone else about the truffula containing Whoville, and he’s certainly not deliberately defying the authority of the main antagonist of the movie. Horton’s whole goal is and remains the same: find Whoville a safe place for their world to be safe. He’s so committed to the goal that when Vlad the vulture kidnaps the truffula, he chases after them, surviving falls and snow plowing. Where most would give up after a few days of searching, he keeps looking for the truffula among the literal millions of truffulas, he recognizes the real one among the ones flying away, is sad when he can’t hear his new friend’s voice, and he’s genuinely happy when he hears Ted’s voice joking and calms down as Ted asks him (it’s also worth noting that at this point is when Whoville finally becomes aware of Horton, as throughout the movie Ted is the only one who really knows about Horton, and spends his time trying to communicate better to let Whoville know of their situation). Even when he’s caught, roped and caged up, Horton is still desperately trying to save Whoville (who take matters into their own hands to try and reveal their own existence themselves), and above all, Horton forgives the Kangaroo for all her transgressions. Instead of gloating about how he was right about the speck having people, Horton celebrates that they finally did communicate, and even offers the Kangaroo his own cookie as a way to forgive her. The Kangaroo had caused him so much trouble, even nearly killing Whoville in the process (granted she had no idea there were people on the speck, and she didn’t believe Horton when he mentioned hearing them, but still, real Karen move as she also is convinced that she’s right and she also forces her son Rudy to stay inside her pouch as a sort of controlling figure), and at this point, Horton has no reason to forgive her after all that, but he does, and that’s the biggest thing about Horton. Given that nowadays heroes in media are all gray or have selfish reasons to do everything, I am more desperate for a real lovable hero. Bring back evil villains? Bring back GOOD HEROES!
watched a couple of your more viewed videos, but I'm so happy i stumbled across this video because i just watched the movie and it was straight FIRE very good rec !!
0:16 I know how you feel, bro. I happen to have a bit of experience with that happening. For me, it happens whenever I think about movies like Open Season, Horton Hears A Who, or even Paolo Conti’s movie Worms (which is a claymation family animated movie that I hate watch but still find somewhat entertaining regardless). I could excuse people forgetting about Brother Bear or Atlantis The Lost Empire, maybe even Shark Tale, but ain’t nobody tell me you forgot about Open Season (1 and 2) or Horton Hears A Who, no siree. And yes, I did actually watch Hookwinked myself, I love it..😍
Wait you like this well honestly When I was a kid, I used to I loved it. I mean, I haven't seen it since when I was a kid, but I mean. While watching it as a kid, I thought it was weird and a little okay, but as an adult I haven't seen it at all like I totally forgot it existed
I first watched this movie in science class because we were studying forensic science and stuff, I just watched it and it’s peak cinema
