Ryan's existence is literally central to the plot, without him there's no real shot at stopping Homelander because he's basically Luke Skywalker to Homelander's Anakin.

Frenchie and Hughie's subplots i can agree that are boring
But c'mon man, Ryan existence is important since the beggining and is literally tied to Butcher's arc.
And i really think he is the one who's going to kill homelander in season 5

naw hughies subplot isnt boring imo.

A problem with season 4 is that Homelander is at a dead end when it comes to how close he can get to snapping without actually snapping, “Do what I want but don’t really.” Levels of chaotic, however if they drag it out to the finale for him to full on snap this whole season is just setup really. No one waited two years for Firecracker to be the threat they take down this season, at the end of season 3 Homelander was shown he could actually do whatever he wanted but here he is still holding back in season 4. Overall it’s not like he’s a bad character all of a sudden, just hoping two or three episodes of this season will show us a fully unhinged Homelander at the very least.

a good build up will also make a good ending, I think if season 4 is the last it will be very rushed, considering Butcher's attitude towards the ghosts of Becca and Kessler, building Homelander's rift until he snaps, as well as the dilemma of Ryan who is the central figure and maybe important character in the final season

I like the subplot it allows the characters to develop the scene with butcher and his kid Is a 10 out of 10. And how the bright light part hopefully working towards kimiko's ability to speak. it also shows how people weponize fear and religion to fit thier agenda with fire cracker and how most people brush pedophilia off and it's intristing to see how whenever homelander trys to connect with his kid he ironically pushes nit understanding why his son doesn't connect with a sociopath. Also seeing homelanders trauma in the new episode was really good and hammers in the point that homelander will fail because he can't accept who he is and how he keeps trying to be in denile of his feelings. The scene with huey's mom gives him closer about his mom leaving him which was talked about in the earlier seasons and also gives representation to depressed and suicidal parents. great content came from tiktok I'll most likely watch more of your content.

I’d honestly say the Firecracker scene shows how society doesn’t take female sex offenders as serious as males. I feel like they wouldn’t be able to brush it over so quickly if it was a guy who did it. Idk if that was their intention but to me it seemed like an interesting social commentary

You made a lot of good points and I agree a-train’s redemption arc is easily the best part of this season, but ya have to realize this was always how season 4 was gonna go. It was pretty much gonna be a “filler” season(if that makes sense) because they don’t wanna raise the stakes until season 5, the final season where I believe we will ultimately see homelander meet his fate. For now they’re gonna focus on the build-up to setting up the ending of the other characters like butcher, a train, the deep, starlight, neuman, etc. all the subplots are taking up a majority of the screen time so that season 5 is setup nicely for someone(imo most likely Ryan) to take out Homelander once and for all.

I agree with this video completely (nearly everything)
Especially on why the virus that was mentioned in episode 1 hasn’t been brought up again.
It will be the plot of episode 5 onwards but why did it take 4EPISODES for it to come back up when the entire main mission is to KILL HOMELANDER.
This whole season should have been a race to complete the virus before Homelander loses his shit and enacts a take over of the country but this season has no main focus yet.

I actually think Ryan’s story is one of the best parts of this season. My favorite things this season is A Trains redemption arc, homelander being a dad and visiting his past, butcher and Ryan’s father son relationship and then sister sage’s story. good video but i disagree on some things..
    1. neuman considered hughie a friend and still has a soft spot for him despite attempts of him killing her, plus the dirt on her
    2. homelander didn’t kill butcher in the first part cuz he doesn’t want to jeopardise relationship with ryan and he also likes toying with him
    3. s1 was a win for homelander, s2 was a win for butcher and the boys, s3 was neutral.. i think this series will be another win for homelander and the seven7 as the boys are facing their own stories n facing sins n problems..

Finally a review where they have actual criticisms and aren’t just calling it woke. Kimiko and Frenchie were one of the slower storylines last season so throwing their relationship development away to have Frenchie cheating on her with a guy that lost his parents to Frenchie smh.

You can chalk Homelander not killing Butcher so that Ryan doesn’t hate him (reminds me of Gus and WW relationship with Jesse) and yeah the sideplots with frenchie and kimiko are kinda ass prob bc they don’t know what to do with them (same situation in s3), I just hope that Hughie has more screen time and Butchers tumor plot ends up being good

I actually like Frenchie and Hughie’s subplot. For this whole season (so far) has been about Letting Go. Letting go of the past, letting go of their love ones and letting go of themselves. Hughie and his dad had one of the best emotional moments in the show. Frenchie dealing with his dark past is pretty interesting to see & where it goes. The Boys has (in my opinion) been consistent in being itself unlike most shows. Season 4 couldve super trash & go in another direction..but I honestly like this season and can’t wait to see where it goes.

  • @veryneat2331
    @veryneat2331 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

idk man i think the majority of people are interested in ryan and hughie’s parents. hughie’s dad’s rampage through the hospital was like the main thing people talked about when that episode came out. And ryan is important because he gives butcher an actual motivation besides just a boring revenge plot. Becca is now dead and so now butcher has to fulfill a promise he made to her to keep ryan safe, which in his eyes is killing homelander to keep him away from ryan. it adds an emotional depth to butcher and even homelander that the comics were too lazy to give and just wanted to draw gore and action and then have butcher kill everyone in the end.

Only thing keeping me hopeful that A-train doesn’t die this season is the fact that there’s still another season coming and there are already very few OG supes left with fleshed out stories. If he does go though I need the fight to be amazing, we at least deserve that, we just got healthy A-train and all he’s done is steal things 😂,

The stuff with Homelander and Ryan is the only compelling shit so far this season tbh. Hugh’s death was a sad moment but that came completely out of nowhere. The stuff with frenchie is probably the worst of the whole season and it ain’t because I’m homophobic but because this love interest completely came out of nowhere and we don’t actually have a reason to care, it wasn’t earned. I do think tho that Ryan becoming so sadistic this easily is pretty out of character

Imo, Frenchie and Collin is the most uninteresting plotline, followed by firecracker and starlight in second. I like Butcher and Ryan, and I'm interested in where they're planning to go with it, Hughie and his dad I think is about to get interesting, so I won't diss it just yet, although I really don't care about his mom. Kimiko and shining light have... potential. There's been at least one good scene with all of these plot lines, except maybe Frenchie and Collin, but I'm really disappointed we're getting less Hughie. I actually really really like Hughie, unlike most of the fanbase apparently, but it sucks that his best moment this season... happened in the trailer. His "Violence isn't brave" speech is something I'm really looking forward to, but so far I just don't see his storyline cooking.

Part of me was like, Homelander doesn’t want to ruin his image with Ryan which is why he didn’t immediately kill Butcher in Ep1. But then I remember he murdered a dude right in front of him during the S3 finale. “Self defense” ok but Ryan has a connection to Butcher. Plus Butcher’s dying anyway so Homelander probably feels he doesn’t need to do anything. Keeping him alive long enough to see his son become just like him is victory enough. I agree with the Jack Sparrow effect, the Ryan problem, and the Hughie situation. And what they’re doing to Kimiko? Trash. MM being the leader? Trash. Frenchie’s will he won’t he with Colin? Trash. (Not the gay part. But the will they/wont they part).

It just feels like the 7 this season are for more enjoyable and interesting than the boys which is kind of weird knowing that the boys are the protagonists

Agreed in every aspect. Since season one the show is about killing homelander. That is the point of the boys. Thats the MAIN PLOT, THE MAIN THING. But because the boys got so popular its just too lucrative to end it at the right time. So now they just stretch it and create a bunch of filler to wait the finale out and get more money. But sadly this led to the story suffering severly, It was noticable in season 3 and it got really really bad now with season 4 and it drags down the entirety of a show that started out soso well. Season 3 shouldve been the final one already in my opinion, now its just getting ridiculous

I would disagree about ssn 3, cuz i think everything tied up really well up to the final, where ofc soldier boy should have killed homelander. This ssn tho it is getting pretty stale especially bcs some of the main underlying plots from previous ssns have been left behind for a made-up gay relationship and family crisis. Also too much homelander

Oh boy this video didn't age well considering the latest episode and how people are praising the Hughie family drama subplot.

    About homelander not killing butcher
It was because of rayn homelander knows rayn cares about him so what do you think would happen if he sees him killing butcher in front of his eyes

People need to seriously chill, like seriously I really don't get why people hating. It's literally pretty damn close to every other season.

Whats disturbed me the most is lack of stakes
so often the boys shouldve been killed but they are just not
and when homelander couldnt kill hughie even tho he has x ray vision
    that was crazy stupid ngl
also so many scenes are actually unnescary and kill the momentum
they also use brutality and gore as shock value to keep the audience engaged even tho it has nothing to do with the plot most of the time
and it just is the same thing and it gets boring
just the boys as a whole
if u watch one of these episodes it still like the first season (not in terms of writing)
its just nothing changes everything is the status quo

I get the fact that some of them most of the time should’ve been killed but the reason homelander didn’t kill butcher was because he x-rayed him and saw that he was dying so he saw no point in killing him you also argue it’s because Ryan was there but doesn’t really add anything to the point

I enjoyed the viseo and agreed with most of your claims about the show except for Ryan he is so crucial to the plot it is more the just like a minor subplot

Why do people think that Homelander is so terrifying??? He only harms Vought employees. That’s it. All we see HL do is terrorize Vought employees. What is happening this season? So are Homelander and the boys cool now?? Because both groups seem to be okay with existing together. I also hate what this show is doing. Butcher has been obsessed with killing HL since season 1 and when he has a chance to in season 3 he doesn’t take it because for some reason Solider Boy was the bigger threat???? So I’m guessing this season the boys are going to team up with HL AGAIN to stop the head popping lady. This is such a joke. At this point they should just make HL a member of the boys.

I feel like huie has stayed the same every season. He’s gone through dramatic stuff but is still a pussy. I don’t wanna say he should be more like butcher because obviously that would be dumb to have characters so similar to one another but as a character I feel like he hasn’t evolved much. But the reason why homelander didn’t kill butcher in front of Ryan is obvious, he would have lost him. You can see in the latest episode homelander and Ryan’s relationship develops more. I agree huie needs more screen time but Ryan is also very important and interesting to the plot of the show

I agree I really do love boys but something about season 4 issues with one is butcher and hughie don't feel like main characters no more story started with theme theye so amazing season 1 even though homelander is amazing even he doesn't feel like main villain in season 1 stormfront soilder boy and now might be sister sage main villain that's my biggest issue butcher hughie homelander should main focus
