There are a few questionable claims in amongst these stories. So...Keith reckons they were surrounded by 20,000 Sunderland fans whilst Phil estimates a total of 10,000. That's quite a difference. I'm also pretty sure that the "Yid army..."chant wasn't around in the 70's so that bit seems to be nonsense. Anyway, a bit of scrapping in the past always evolves into something more exciting than it was over a few years of chat, banter and beers. Obviously, nobody died so play on folks!

Bit of bullshit going on here. I was there that day, it was an old 3rd Division game. From memory the crowd was only about 10,000 in total. Millwall did have about 150 that day, but to say Cardiff had 2,000, well that's a feckin' joke. We, Cardiff had about 200 that day and a lot of those were school kids aged around 15 or 16, hanging on to older lads coattails. What this guy says is just total and utter bullshit. Some City came out of the Bob Bank in front of Millwall who were in the lower Grandstand. The majority of City came out of the Grange End behind Millwall. There were skirmishes all along Sloper Road, where the ground is situated, and in the park opposite. The Old Bill were well on top that day, and small skirmishes continued down Ninian Park Road, Tudor Road and to the main train station, where there was a bit of a scrap in front of it, but nothing like this demented bloke is going on about. I heard after that a larger group of Millwall did attack a small number of Cardiff fans waiting to get back to Bridgend, at the central train station. That's about it really

I'm WEST HAM & i was there with my Son who was 10, I'm only a couple of stops from upton park near West Ham station so left with around 30 mins before KO, got to WH st & waited ages for a train as they was being held at Pllaistow, started to panic as thought i might miss start of game but train came & 2 stops i was there, came out & could see a large mob of us on either side of station exit mainly outside Queens pub but also opposite side, that was a first for me as our mob always waited at Queens only with spotters etc, bumped into a mate & i could sense something was going to happen as all were facing the station & locked on obviously waiting for the arrival of millwall, would of stayed but safety of my boy came first etc so made my way to ground,millwall never got off at UP because the oh bill made the train go straight through to East Ham as it would of been mayhem, in all my time going from early 80's i had never seen a larger mob of WEST HAM in all my life, course some were just there for the show but i saw loads of old faces make an appearance & at least 3,000 who were game, there was a bit of confusion as think oh bill kept some WH in station off last train because of the huge crowds still building outside but decided to let them out, as they had oh bill around them the mob outside Queens started hurling bottles etc but were hitting there own fans coming out & those on opposite side, inside ground it was all WEST HAM doing the work to get at millwall mainly from the Westside closest to Trevor Brooking Lower where away fans go & wall were, fighting oh bill in the process, 100% i don't bullshit wall never fancied it, can't blame em they would of been overwhelmed in numbers , we was out for blood that night, you could taste it in the air, yeh we invaded pitch when we scored & could of run at them but most in stands were booing them to get off in fear of game being cancelled & our win Sacrificed i suppose, millwall could of got on as they was invited but chose not to simply because they were so outnumbered, think the evil atmosphere put wall off & took them by surprise as they knew we was up for it that night, hard to explain it but it was pure hate, seen them at away grounds being brave but they looked genuinely scared that night, after game the usual but wall were kept in for an hour or so for there own safety, it would of definitely kicked off otherwise ⚒

Usual Zulu excuses... the taxi was late, the bus had a flat tyre! They knew we were on Moseley Road at half 10, and it took them until half 1 to show up! I was at the boro game when the 2 people lost their lives. We were in the Utd end and a mob of boro were outside beckoning for us to come out and fight them. You could see over the wall from the Clive road end. We all ran down the stairs into the courtyard to get out to them but the big gates were locked .utd fans were asking the police to open the gates but they refused so everyone just pushed at the gates and unfortunately the pillars holding them up gave way and crushed the 2 people. The boro fans legged it chased by the Utd fans who didn’t know what had happened.

Who do they get to narrate these stories??!! Let me wise some of you lot up .. the icf was first formed in 1976… our first away game as a unit was aston villa away .. we entered the holte end .. no we didnt have it our own way we was no more than 40 strong.. our ages were between 14 and 18…. Why do i know this ,because Birdman .. Grant felming and my self formed it .. sat in birdmans bedroom when we was 16 the year being 1976. Thats put all the guessing and stories to bed aint it. ..

2000 Cardiff that day, not 4000!!!

Don't know about 1985 but I was on the Kop for the game Oct/Nov 1981. Saw groups of who we suspected were manc just inside the turnstyles, bottom of stairs. We carried on, took up our normal position as dead centre of Kop as poss and about 2pm they came up onto the Kop announcing themselves. The group splintered, scattered and were getting chased and slapped but a large group maintained their presence for the duration of the game tucked up on the 'balcony' on Kemlyn Rd side - with police forming a cordon of protection. They didn't say much but it was quite comical watching them duck in unison whenever there was 'incoming'. Went to OT '83 & '85 but this was my only time watching Liverpool v Utd at Anfield. I don't doubt similar escapades will have happened at Anfield for this fixture but this was the only one I ever witnessed.

The bloke with the metal pole was a Villa fan. He got 3 years prison. So saying it was blues is totally bollocks. And the fight was taken over to Aston territory. Before the game the vile got hammered at watering hole (McDonald’s). After the game they stayed behind until the streets were empty
