Went to WB v Leeds in about 79. My mate ( Leeds fan) was goading the police and a Belgium Malinois was getting very aggressive towards him. I told him " Hes going to bite you". He did and ive never heard anyone scream like that, took a great big chunk out of his arse. One of the funniest things ive ever seen. Still have a little chuckle thinking about it 45 years later.

Who make's this up? I was there and when the second goal went in they did start pulling the fence down but when it did give in nobody went on the pitch because the Police were all lined up with their Truncheon's out. After that the ground emptied pretty quick and the Police just started arresting people indiscriminately on the coaches.

I was there in the Brummie, Leeds pulled the fence down, then the old bill did a baton charge towards the Leeds fans in the Smethwick end, the police got stuck in fair play to em, but Leeds never came no where near the Brummie Rd, a few got on the pitch but that was it,

I was there that night supporting Leeds. Your account matches my memory of the events. A few Leeds invaded the pitch, probably 50 or so. The WBA fans in the seats cleared out fast, but those WBA standing behind the goal remained standing.

That's correct, leeds got nowhere near the brummie end, nor did they have any intentions of doing so.. Sometimes I think a lot of this is made up.. Plus only a few got on the pitch.. From a personal pov, I went bothered or scared in the least, weird some folks interpretations of things

I was there with my brother in the stand opposite where the players come out, I was supporting Baggies which was cruel to him as he's a Leeds supporter and we got out of the ground very quickly & boarded Midland Red bus for our trip back to Worcester.
Even though it was Leeds fans causing the problems I was scared for his safety--he being the youngest of the 2 of us!

Yes, I was there that night supporting Leeds. It was my first away game. All game your section was taunting the away end. When the fence toppled over with a thud, your section cleared out of the stadium within seconds.

I was concerned about my brother's safety and he's a Leeds supporter, those idiots wouldn't have realised and attacked him...
We were quite where I was sat so read my message again and get your facts right!!

@@JohnHawkins-nw4wi You might have been quiet but there were fans in your section who gave it the big 'un throughout the game. It was funny, after all the bravado during the game, how they melted and ran as fast as Linford Christie on steroids.
I am not proud of our fans for the carnage that night. If it cheers you up, the police really gave it to us after the final whistle. Lots of cracked heads. The walk back to the coaches was a case of dodge the police truncheon. They were hitting Leeds fan indiscriminately. Even though the rioting had fished. The police kept on splitting heads open.
