The Most Powerful COIN FLIP Cards in Yu-Gi-Oh
The Most Powerful COIN FLIP Cards in Yu-Gi-Oh. These are KeyYGO's picks for the most powerful coin tossing card effects in yugioh, based entirely on what I thought sounded cool. One Heads or Tails could be a negate, a draw 2, or something much worse. (Also it's technically a coin toss)

"Combo", "Stun", and "Control" Decks in Yu-Gi-Oh
มุมมอง 13K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
What even are Stun, Control and Combo Decks in Yu-Gi-Oh? Let's talk about how we talk about Yu-Gi-Oh cards, decks, and archetypes. When discussions of deckbuilding perks up Online, Yu-Gi-Oh players tend to use these terms to quickly describe their deck's gameplan. But Where do we draw the line? What is the difference between a combo deck spamming monsters and a midrange deck summoning monsters?...

Tried watching it. Was horrible
I honestly don't understand why Yu-Gi-Oh isn't just played in formats like MTG. MTG has standard, modern, EDH, legacy, etc and I feel the game would just benefit from letting players 'pick their poison'. For example making a format using only the OG cards/mechanics from back when the game was brand new would probably cater to alot of nostalgic older fans. With the sheer number of summoning types and releases the game could certainly be divided into a massive number of options for ways to play.
i could see Konami revisiting "self-deck-summoning" for better or worse( mostly worse) Theyll do something like idk..Metal Posessed Sages™, initially being limeted by needing speciffic monsters on the field to summon from the deck, untill Konami gets greeedy ,removes all limits on deck summoning & permanently powercreeps the whole game ( as is tradition)
Mirror force and drowning mirror force are direct hard counters to the infamous blue eyes deck. Add in a seord of dragon soul and your thier worst nightmare
I love Yugioh with all my heart. It was part of my childhood, I saw all of GX and I simply bought fake cards every time I saw them in a store, not even knowing there were originals. I played all Tag Force on my PSP and enjoyed each one of them. I still love and follow Yugioh, but the current state of the game makes me sad because it is so unplayable for me. I'm from the time when summoning a Cyber End Dragon was one of the most badass things I could see in a game, so for me, modern yugioh is disgusting and toxic. It's a shame that the game I loved and loved watching the anime died.
Back in the day,it's more about battle of monsters...these days...just gay player's setting the board to stop players from playing...ABSOLUTE GAY PLAYERS INDEED
Funny thing is they already have the monsters for the kill, yet their not content, they will special summon another monster, still not content, summon again.. shenanigans keeps going and time wasted...and that's why it sucks
Handtrap...just another card effect copied from magic the gatherings no mana cost sorceries and instants 😆
It’s not playground it’s competitive decks of the era But it is simplified
All of these things are exactly why I love this game. Maybe I'm a sadist lol. Having a resource system significantly hinders my ability to upset my opponent
I would buy all the tactical try decks if printed.
Dude...Chubbyemu would be proud!
2:05 wtf is bro talking about? The going second player gets 6 cards in their hand, you have an extra card on your opponent and there's so many cards that negate possible interruptions. Sure sometimes if you have a bad hand it can feel like this but you are just wrong or making up bs to strengthen your point. You could have just talked about these cards without pretending like you know what you are talking about. Also there's several cards that trigger when you send them to the graveyard. if you nib them your opponent gets advantage but you won't mention that.
Synchro and Fusion era was good.
Konami needs to step up and make a new format with every existing and future archetype since cyber dragon is BANNED. XyZ are ok if they are the likes of N39 Utopia
Performapal Popperup The Big Cattle Drive
I feel like they rely too much on Link and Xyz summoning monsters, that other monsters from GX, 5D;s and old school yugioh cards are obsolete.
*Cough cough* monster club and domhan Rhapsodie *cough cough* Edit: elestrals is pretty good too i guess.
I have anti spell trep
The ressource system was the cards themselves.
MD is one of the biggest problems to modern day Yu-Gi-Oh, to where you have so many cards that aren't banned, that are banned by the TCG for how players abuse their power. There are counters to these cards, it's just the issue of drawing the correct ones so that you can effectively play your own turn. Don't get me wrong, playing a Nexus to counter Appo is funny af when the player scoops after reading your card, it just makes your entire style to dealing with a broken card entirely hinged on running a deck specifically to counter broken cards. This is why a card like VFD ended up on the banlist, because even though you can Kaiju it and there are plenty of cards, needing a required out is just unhealthy for the game, and MD is filled with cards that make it near impossible to play if you aren't designing a deck solely around problem cards Konami has made improvements to your opponent doing less with some of these newest engines, they did create a new problem, your turn also being your opponents turn. Fallen of Albaz is rather tame compared to some of the more recent cards, but now we get the issue of your opponent comboing off of you dismantling their board, so the opponent is very overpowered and easily can kill you once you finish dismantling their board. While this may be good for some of the back and forth between meta decks, we are still far off of having enough good cards that help the rogue player deal with this problem. So now players can easily create good combo decks and counters to common problems, we just don't have good counters to when your opponent pops off on the turn you are playing. Good example of this are cards that pop themselves to the Spell and Trap zone if they are about to be removed. Not only are these cards invincible to spell and trap removal, they get played with cards that'll bring them back to the monster zone. Konami's lack of good removal for situations like this, means that Toybox can thrive without the ability for a deck to have any reasonable counter, which makes the game incredibly frustrating at times. The game is in a better spot than 2019-2022, Konami just needs to address some of the biggest problem for it to get healthier as a game. You'd have a lot more diversity in the decks you'd see in competitive play, rather than only a few players being able to pilot their rogue deck well enough to place
If Konami really wants more players they should make an 18+ adult Yu-Gi-Oh set where everything is uncensored and only includes cards that were censored
Konami: no tits on cards there are kids playing Also Yu-Gi-Oh fanbase: 75% adults and 25% kids who already saw tits Also Konami: charges 100+ for a simple card that's not even iconic
LoR had imo the best solution do keywords, they had every keyword in text marked as yellow while everything else was white + very simple effects like pierce and lifesteal effects are just a symbol on the card, spareing multiple lines of text
I remember when the elements had more weaknesses and were each more balanced together… it’s the negates that need to go away and the weaknesses that need to be added. Tell me otherwise, and you’re dead to me.
I remember being 12 going to a tournament once with my Blue-Eyes structure deck, thinking, "Haha, this will be fun."(You know damn well I did not have fun) First match, my opponent summoned five monsters in one turn and wiped my entire field. Second match, the guy went first, spent the entire turn searching his deck, and eventually assembled all five pieces of Exodia. Third match, I finally found someone like me-another 12-year-old kid just looking to have fun. He was running an Ancient Gear deck, and we had a great time laughing and playing. Fourth match, my opponent casually summoned two Shooting Quasar Dragons. Fifth match, the guy flooded the field with monsters like it was nothing. And here’s the kicker: every single one of them had Solemn Judgment. I couldn’t even summon a single monster most of the time. The Exodia guy, bless him, let me play for a few turns even though he had Exodia assembled three turns ago. He must’ve realized I was a noob and decided to let me have a bit of fun. I still like yugioh but I will never go to a nether fucking tournament or play it with someone who isn't a friend for fun.
4:52 no buddy, i dont have to read them all. lol
Slap my hand!
Ah so, Blue eyes white dragon is called that because his body is blue, & Dark magician is originally named black magician because he wears purple, that checks out
I dipped out around the GX era specifically because of all the archetypes. I had fun building a collection of cards that could be combined in a variety of ways. I liked being able to at least play all the cards I get in a booster pack. Nowadays I can open a pack and get zero cards I even have the requirements to use. I've moved to Keyforge for physical card gaming. I've always enjoyed the YGO video games, though, where money isn't an issue.
Soft once per duel effects still exist; they are worded as "once while this card is face-up on the field".
did no one have any of those electric prank hand shake things
Back in my days we sacrificed 2 monsters to summon blue-eyes white dragon... That was the shit kids!!🤣
Branded is unironically the best deck to play for fun, while also being competitive.
I once managed to summon hino-kagu-tsuchi. Wall of text galore. My opponent just said "I don't know what that does but i know I don't like it". I swing and pass the turn. He starts to draw and I stop him. Umm Hino says you have to discard your hand before you draw. He replied "I knew I didn't like that card!!"
Capsule monster colosseum was lit. I think that was a different game from the one in the video though
Hate yugioh now. The games over at the coin toss. Whoever goes first wins if second turn player has no hand traps. You're literally just waiting for the set up/ lock down
Ygo used to be a skillful game that was a lot of fun to play
Alright. Thanks for convincing me to play MtG and Hearthstone instead
Add "Gem-Knight Garnet". This explains "Why you only play one copy of this card if it's good and it's crucial to your combo?", "Well, it's MEANT to be searched by THIS, THAT, or THIS INTO THAT, and also THIS AS WELL." And maybe add how garnets have evolved through the years. Nowadays, garnets are not 1900 beatsticks, they're actual playable cards.
I would also argue for HERO and burning abyss. With ba you have to negate their racism to even have other monsters on the field
I think the taylors correct target refers to equip cards that equips to specific monster types/ archetypes to enforce restrictions of the equip cards.
5:57 or you have exodia
Imagine playing Yugioh with a hobo and he plays the handshake combo. Instant give-up.
Lol we're not boomers, that would be our parents.
Recently I have been dusting off the hundreds of OG cards my brother and I have from when we were kids to make decks and duel with friends. It’s been fun and relatively competitive as we have one finite card pool. Then turning to online modern Yugioh, I was surprised how much nonsense there was, and how much it ruined the back and forth of the duel.
Once started my turn with 0 cards in hand, all had been discarded from my opponent cards during their first turn x)
I need that GX card ASAP
I wouldn't want to play Seal of Orichalcos anyway. Everybody who does loses.
This is hypothetical, but, what if Konami just…removed EVERY card off the forbidden/ban list? Just have a free for all for a few months and try to nail down what cards are ACTUALLY the problem. Like, wipe the slate clean and start over
There are no banlist tournaments. Ishizu tearlaments is pretty much the best deck. I think their version isnt even much different from the the one that was played when tear wasnt banned.
