Fun fact: Konami didn't know how to word hard once per turns back when they released Twin Headed Behemot, so what they did was limit it, so players could only use that effect once per duel.
This was especially relevant due to Fiber Jar being able to shuffle back Twin Headed Behemoth into the deck. So if you were playing multiples, there wasn't really a good way to tell which one had used its Once Per Duel effect, which could lead to rulings headaches.
As someone already mentioned, at this point we could get a "once per match" text on a card anytime now. But I say WHY STOP THERE? Why not "once per event", "once per day", "once per week, month, year, decade, eon, milennia" or even "once per lifetime". The last one could be quite useful if you just get ressurected and can use it again.
Here's a homebrew card I used: Self-destruction: BUTTON. Type: Trap/Monster. Once placed on the field, immediately transfer to opponents spell zone. This card deals damage based on the total amount of ATK on the opponents side of the field. This Card is immune to card effects. This card activates during battle phase when opponent attacks. Can only be destroyed by transferring it back to the original duelist field. When transfered, it explodes automatically. Attacking this card directly causes it to activate its effect. Atk:0 DEF:0
Still funny watching an 8k Numeron being blown up by Fortune Lady Fire via Fortune Lady Recall inflicting 8k Burn damage to the opponent when they think they would win.
decider won me a duel. Got discarded by a deck that was doing mill burn, would have burned me for 6000+ effect damage, and decider went nope and then I managed to survive the onslaught and win on my turn with double miracle fusion :) which were still in my hand
“Revolution Synchron” is a main card in my deck I use 3 copies with 2 “Tunning” , and somehow I didn’t know it’s second effect was once per duel till now.
Destiny Hero - Disk Commander while not released with a once per duel effect was later errata'd to be once per duel and much worse than the previous effect.
That one is kinda fun cause it's thematically appropriate. At the beginning of the duel when you have no monsters yet he raises the curtain and the show begins, but now that the show has began you can't raise the curtain again
I literally didn't know that the revive effect of the Tenpais was Once per Duel, I just assumed it was Once per Turn. Is just that literally never comes that situation, and i play that deck for a long time, and many games that (for some reason or another) lasted more than 5 turns and it just never comes out.
Interesting card to add: Magical Dog. Once per duel it can bounce an open spell/trap your oponent controls and special summons itself from the hand or GY. Why is that interesting? Because it is a 500-Stat Earth Machine Level 1 Tuner. It is searchable with Ancient Gear Box, it is summonable by urgent Scedule, It can be used as material for Ancient Gear Ballista and opens multiple paths for Level 10 Synchros (Ancient Gear Dragon + Dog = 10. Infinitrack Anchor Drill effect on Dog = 5 + 5 = 10). Not insanely strong, but a nice 1 off in ancient gear and some earth machine variants.
Crazy how Decider has the slowest once per duel effect with the lowest impact and coelistat has the most restrictive despite being attached to a low impact archetype.
3:28 You really don't know how this is gonna be good without locks then because free tuner that is completely free and still can this dude to used for colossus combo to do less brick or just free herlad for any level 2 engine or use any other level 3 earth to get naturia beast
You need to be over 35 to remember old school YGO? The game that hit the states 22 years ago and was a huge hit with elementary school aged kids? Think this dude needs to check his math 😂
*eyes glow red*
Soft Once Per Duel Mentioned
Basically the entire Wind-Up archetype
Worst bingo Square ever
Clinton aid didn't kill himself though
I only get soft once per duel, as well.
Fun fact: Konami didn't know how to word hard once per turns back when they released Twin Headed Behemot, so what they did was limit it, so players could only use that effect once per duel.
Also if I'm not wrong you can actually summon multiple copies of twin headed behemoth with it's effect because the once per duel works for each copy
@@kauanjos3199 as i recall it was a soft once per duel for a while.
This was especially relevant due to Fiber Jar being able to shuffle back Twin Headed Behemoth into the deck. So if you were playing multiples, there wasn't really a good way to tell which one had used its Once Per Duel effect, which could lead to rulings headaches.

They’d probs have to make and immediately put “Duelist Reborn” on the banlist to prevent abusing that last one 😂
"you used that card yesterday, the text implies you may not be able to use said effect until a week has passed counting from the date of activation"
The problem with "Once per event/day/etc" is that there is no way for your opponent to know if you already active that effect in an earlier duel.
When you think about it, Exodia is technically the first once per duel effect
Forget once per duel effects, when are we getting once per match cards!?
Self destruct button as a once per match would be funny
That's instantly illegal stuff like victory dragon.
tbh the effect would need to be reallllllly strong for that to be worth it and it would just be a super sacky card
well, victory dragon and other similar match winner cards

If Yu-Gi-Oh cards were color-coded like the way KeyYGO highlights effects, this game would be so much easier to play.
Isn't it already has, master duel have highlight which effect that are activated or already activated.
@@mhkhat8048but not irl sadly
@@mhkhat8048 Master Duel has it mid-game, I mean on the physical cards and when you're building a deck.
It would also be unbelievably ugly
Yu-Gi-Oh PRISM
XD
I like how red-eyes has a quick opd burn effect cuz they could deal 35 in one turn and 35 in the other with black comet + soul
Bring out Des Koala, give it 2 Vengeful Servants, use a spell card to switch control to your opponent causing 4,200 x 2 via Vengeful spirit.

A once per turn restriction in a game where matches only last a couple of turns anyway is the opposite of tame lol

Did bro forget curtain raiser’s pend effect
That one is kinda fun cause it's thematically appropriate. At the beginning of the duel when you have no monsters yet he raises the curtain and the show begins, but now that the show has began you can't raise the curtain again
That cards deserve an errata for removing the once per duel to a different restriction. Todays cards are much more broken
remember when glow up bulb was released, 1 tuner and easy summon, 1 sync for free and his price was about $100 or more in my country
I don't get it why they gave them this effect and same time is bad like the red eyes support not that level six but before it
I love your editing and presentation, this is great content :)

Yes

Imagine if a lot of powerful "once per turn" cards out there, were actually "once per duel"
And now we get same exact effect card with more broken effect with only restrictions is once per turn
Once per duel:kill your opponent
I think its very balanced guys i mean you only can use it once per duel
Idea for new yugioh card:
you win the duel instantly but there is a catch:
you have to physically destroy the card afterwards.
You can kind of do this by recreating episode 1 and 3 of the Yu Gi Oh anime. Get Exodia, and then throw the 5 pieces of Exodia in the ocean.

My favorite once per duel effect was the wind-up cat
Coughing loudly as a scareclaw enjoyer
Now we have Tenpai
Rank up magic the seventh one has a once per duel
This ability should apply to all orange effect cards.
Just a thought but if a card can only be used once per duel it should be negate proof
Seal of oricalcos
Can wait for once for match!
Oh, how I wishRevolution Sincron was not once per duel. Insta-creation of lv8 synchros for basically free!
Soft once per duel effects still exist; they are worded as "once while this card is face-up on the field".
We need once per copy cards. So after you play the card you just burn it afterwards.
i wonder how yugioh would be if they made every card once per duel and or with make every card limited to 1. would slow the game alot maybe. XD
