- Who is the STRONGEST Flip Monster in Yu-Gi-Oh? Even though you can't really play flip monsters in the modern TCG or Master Duel, flip monsters are some of the most historically interesting cards in YGO. Heres a history of some of the heavy hitters.

Don't let him read Guard Dog, protect him at all costs
Whenever discussing like custom new rules ideas like making flip monsters flipping into quick effects, you always need to add "(also ban guard dog)"
@@tcoren1 Snake Rain paradox - is what I call it. It could be broken therefore it can never be allowed to be. I do think FLIPs deserve the Ritual treatment of generic support, to fix an outdated mechanic.
It's actually criminal to post this without even considering Subterror Guru, the only flip monster in a long time that is good because of it's flip effect (unlike shaddolls).
In fact it's so good it is the center piece of an entire deck
The other Subterrors matter too. Guru just enables the rest.

@@double2helix Not good enough? I call BS on that. Everyone just does not understand how to pilot the lot. After you see someone win, you will be slobbering over the set like anyone else. You could be the one to make it happen. They are actually pretty damn strong. The meta is warping minds so much that much of the card pool is shunned without factual basis.
They really should give more flip monsters effects to flip themselves up. Like Amaterasu or Deus Ex Krawler.
Deus X krawler is a flip monster while not having the iconic "FLIP:" text on it. Quite an intresting card too with its effect being activated while face down and then just being an activated effect skill drain for your opponent.

Fiber Jar. My vote is Fiber Jar. A card so powerful it will never be unbanned in any format, unlike its Cyber brethren.
It's not powerful. It's annoying.
Banned does not *always* equate to good. Sometimes (quite rarely), it's just "this was a mistake that makes running tournaments stupid"
I.e. Victory Dragon, whose effect does genuinely nothing due to the ability of the player to scoop at any time.
Fiber Jar is probably even more worthless to put in your deck than the other Jars, but for the sake of events proceeding in a timely fashion they just leave it banned so some jokester can'ttry to mess with people with it.. It just resets the duel, it's an obnoxious process to put everything back.
I play Prediction Princess, the ONLY deck in the game that cares about generic flips, (except I guess Empty Jar, which obviously can't play Fiber Jar) and Prediction Princess would not play Fiber Jar. It does not work toward you winning the game (Playing to not lose does not win).
Deus-X Krawler is probably the strongest one.
We got through an entire flip video without any mention of Subterrors or krawlers, or, most importantly of all, TINDANGLE
It is astounding how bad Pot of the Forbidden is, even when grading on a curve now that these "Forbidden" effects are decidedly not broken.
It's like maybe the 4th best option for Prediction Princess to cheat out with Whirlwind Weasel, Deus X, and Guard Dog just being better.
Yep, as a prediction princess player its sad to see those 3 floodgate effect being way ahead of the interactive and fun flip variant
I think if we're talking relative to their time period it probably would be Magical Merchant or Dekoichi. Merchant is arguably still good, just that there are far better means to pull off a massive self-mill than relying on a tiny flip monster (like Grass or Reasoning). Dekoichi is really simple but was basically the poster child of the middle GX era and even saw play into 5D's with the synergy that it got from Black Salvo. Mega-Hamster also is good, especially since it gives you access to other monsters including Ryko, and was fairly regularly seen throughout 5D's and Zexal era.
If we're talking about modern relevance I think there are some people still able to take wins in less competitive environments (such as Master Duel) playing Guru Control and it's still one of those decks you might see represented in a competitive event and be like, "Huh that's weird I guess it's still playable."
Gravekeeper’s spy is so cracked in retro formats. Goats specifically but its good in general for a long time.

Mimicking man-eater bug is menace in the Legacy Pack Only Format(only cards in the Legacy Pack in master duel are allowed) I play. I really helps making flip control a viable strategy, togheter with Terrors of the Hidden City.

Personally I quite like scaoeghosst turning scapegoat into a flip monster makes a lot of sense to me like you can easily get bodied on the ground on both turns to defend and as material

As a flip and pseudo flip player, we have a lot of "op" cards like hade-hane or sumoner of ilusions (that can summon tearlaments so... Yeah) that just are pretty powerfull if you can resolve it.
Honetsly Guard dog is easily #1 because the only thing holding flip mosters back is actual, generic support to flip things up or down at quick effect speed.
But if that ever happens, the only thing these flip decks would do is guard dog turbo.
but they have those. the problem is that the cards are too bad and dont do enough other than flipping flips

Ryko will always be my favorite.
Honestly one of my favorite types of monsters due to how mechanically unique they are in terms of effect activation.
Also: I have 3 Man-Eater Bugs IRL, with one of them being a SDY 1st Ed Portuguese Man-Eater.
