Victory Dragon stays winning, as the only match winner card that can legally be played (but it's also permanently banned because it's a match winner card)
It consistently does well in traditional format tournaments, as rare as they are. Turns out dragons are a little crazy with no banlist

So if I had the card “Get Your Game On!” and wanted to use it, would I need documentation that I was actually present at the event?
Either your opponent is not allowed to confirm because of the Mind Crush ruling or you only need to have agreed to the "idea" of being present at the 2007 World Championship.
I stupidly bought 3 copies of Card of Last Will at a card shop for $10. I was so stoked to add them into my deck until I saw they were illegal. If only I had noticed it before I got home 😫
You can play them in goat format! They cost 10 dollars because the card has been banned for a long time from Advanced Format and doesn't see reprints due to being banned, so you should maybe consider trying out the format where they are legal to get your money's worth.

Seal of Orichalcos is so strong bc it’s also a match winner. Can’t duel without a soul.
The matchwinners are moreso Banned or Illegal for the sake of sportsmanship and how you can forfeit a game at any time. If you could only surrender on your own turn then maybe these would have a chance to resolve.
Although, I think it'd be funny for them to print a Tournament Winner card where if it sends an opponent's card to the Graveyard you automatically get 1st place in whatever you're participating in.

Only illegal cards I had were the unplayable gods as I like to call them.
(Ra, Slifer, and Obelisk but without effects and sometimes nonsense stats)
Did you really need to censor the ancient historical roman statue? That's quite sad.
I guarantee you Winning Formula and similar cards are illegal because of those requirements. Having "meta rules" like that are fun, but they create a lot of ruling nightmares in official tournaments. See Yu-Jo friendship for an example of a card with bizarre requirements that isn't banned, but has caused a ruling problem that cause Konami to basically have to waive the activation requirement.
In official games, I feel like it would disadvantage more socially awkward or soft-spoken players, as yelling out anime catchphrases at events is highly discouraged by 90% of players, including making up your own for a little bit of fun and/or flavor.
I assume the cost for the Zexal cards is that if forces you to scream the lines from the anime to activate the effect

Honestly Card Of Last Will could be released tomorrow and it would be perfectly fine.
But they have to remove "this card cannot be used in a duel" if people are allowed to use it

Years ago, one of the guys down at our locals wanted me to let some newbie use the OG Slifer to give him an illegal advantage and I said no, thats not how things work. So therefore my opponent was not allow to use said card.

Tbh I wish they would remake these match winner cards into playable god cards like monsters because their art is sooo cool!
Don’t agree with banned of cards like pot of greed and that last trap card if it was like the anime sure thing I agree all you gotta do power up with an equip spell and boom draw till you got five cards but the real life version is very specific.
Seal spell. I got one when this playmate box came out. Got it at time and was disappointed that the effect only was 500ark bonus to your monsters. nothing of the anime effects which invented to be accurate to the anime. But if that version acts as only 500atk bonus to your monsters it’s not a big deal there are so many easy ways to trump your opponent using that effect on that version of the card. That on point to anime version I understand. But a lot of banned card stuff don’t make any sense. Monster reborn a classic card maybe if you can only have one cause let’s face it there are card effects of legal cards that allow you to banish and bring back cards and send tit he graveyard and bring back almost right away. Cutting the middle man so to speak and directly pulling out your monster from your graveyard or opponents ain’t nothing compared to how I’ve lost to the monster effects that do nearly the same exact thing but at end of that move. They have an arsenal of monsters as opposed to me only having one if I use monster reborn.
@1:02 thing is that sentence was somewhat of a run on sentence. Or not exactly a run on sentence but more just bit thought through before banishing the use. It’s basically stating an obvious fact that didn’t even need to be written there.
Example I’m attacking with a dark magician. You have 2100 LP left. Of course if my dark magician attacks you directly it’ll result in your LP going to zero.
That’s exactly what the card effect shown at that point in video is saying. So it’s pretty pointless to add that text in there and moreover if that is the reason it is banned to bother doing so. I don’t think they read before they print them.
Card of safe return has no business being illegal. It's not a special collectible. It should just be banned.
Back when the card came out, the database said that it was a legal card, but it was forbidden. This was actually a thing they did back then (See temple of The Kings). Obviously that's not how things turned out, but it seems like a clerical error.
I wish Yugioh had an official Deck Master (mtg commander equivalent) format.
Actually yugioh in NA is almost always best out of 3 but Japanese events tend to be best of 1 due to the much larger and more casual playerbase

I feel like card of last will could've been printable if they just made it only trigger off of opponent's card effects. How often is your opponent going to reduce your atk instead of just removing the monster and calling it a day?

Yeah I dunno how to tell you this buuuut using a card won in a tournament to skip through two entire duels and instantly win a best of three would make it so they aren’t playing with you otherwise LMAO
Quitting the duel in a tournament setting and refusing to play with your opponent just gets you disqualified. You’ve basically just turned the effect from an instant match winner to an instant match loser

I also assume you meant a theoretical where it is allowed in casual because I don’t know if you haven’t realized this yet but in order to win a match you inherently need to be running tournament rules. I just assumed that if you were running tournament rules you would, y’know, be running tournament rules in which case the statement of you being disqualified would be inherently there. Now though knowing it is a casual Stettin it seems you are so petty that you would eternally cease playing with a friend because you
- set up match rules from a tournament
- inherently used a rare card to cheese out a victory that smashes over the rules YOU set, placing your friend in an unfair situation intentionally with the explicit goal of abusing the system in mind
- and had them not play along via a forfeit
That is an utterly MISERABLE mindset by someone who is intentionally a much more terrible sport than the surrenderer could ever be. I’d be surprised if people would want to stick around BEING your friend if you go and try and manipulate things to your benefit and throw a hissy fit which includes never playing with them again when they don’t play along because that is genuinely pathetic LOL
Illegal card is the wrong word, because the real meaning of illegal card if you just possess one you get arrested by Cop and go to jail, and that is not the meaning of illegal card. Illegal card simply mean they can't be used in Advance format, Traditional format, Unlimited format. And also cannot be used in goat format, however they can be used in booster pack format, this is because you are allowed only to used the card you get from the booster pack, so if you have 4 pot of greed you can have 4 pot of greed in your deck in booster pack, so even the card that says cannot be used in a duel, if you get 5 copy you have to used them in that type of special duel. The other way is Boss challenge where the one you play against is allowed to play that card cannot be used in a duel, but your not allowed, so that makes the boss challenge.
