Let's be honest, TCG will never release the Tactical-Try out of logic that it contains a lot of staples and they will be like "No we won't give the staples at the cost of a few breads, we will lose money !" And seriously if they do release it, this is the best entry point for new players and being suited to the modern Yugioh environment, of course it's not perfect because of the current meta with Snake Eyes that is currently rampant but it will be an encouraging step if TCG is willingly to do it, because their current sales are dropping fast.
@@mrbubbles6468 That's a load. The TCG miss out due to Konami being stingy. Different ban lists only carry weight if the card is banned in the TCG but perfectly legal in the OCG. Though to their credit, Konami have been better at putting viable staples into TCG structure Decks.
@@mrbubbles6468 By all means, point me to a TCG Structure Deck that is as comprehensive as the OCG SalamanGreat Sanctum structure Deck. OCG has better structure decks due to their reprints and less emphasis on the collecting aspect as TCG. I wish something like that structure deck with its staples existed at all in TCG.
i wish they'd have events like in the ocg structures manga where you do draft for 20 cards of your MD and then bring the other 20. you don't get to know the card pool in advance, you just know it will be from recent-ish sets, and you don't know whether it will have plenty of staples or will be mostly archetype-specific or generic extender type cards, so you have to plan your strategy around making a deck that can be relatively consistent and do something well, even if you only manage to draft like 5 cards that directly work with your wincon, while also giving yourself the opportunity to really pop off if your draft goes super well. it's like a nice hybrid of the appeal of sealed and the appeal of normal deckbuilding strategy
Making them a mostly complete but not quite optimal version of a competitive deck also allows for potential preconstructed formats, which can be pretty fun. The biggest issue I have with Tactical Try is that I think they should have made more of them, for more summoning mechanics. I think at very least Swordsoul Tenyi should have also gotten a spot as one of the initial lineup, it's a REALLY good deck for what Tactical Try is intended to be.
Their League Battle decks are still better than Yugioh's structure decks. $30 for a deck that can actually win at locals is very good. They have nearly correct ratios of cards and have almost zero fluff.
I usually get 1 of most of these decks. With exceptions. Charmers: (that was a mistake) Masked Hero: at least I got 3 Dark Laws now. Crimson King: probably the better decision among these.
@@shadedusk7831 They at least have Secret Village for a Floodgate though its pointless if your opponent has Spellcasters. Crimson King has Red Supernova Dragon which can be a hard to deal with boss monster.
You'd make even better decisions if you got the traptrix and fire king structure decks. Evenly matched ashe blossoms , impermanence and droll and lock bird reprints.
If the two of you watched the video, you would see that you can play these structure decks straight from the box. You don't need to buy more, and you aren't clogged with bad cards that are there only for you to ditch as soon as you buy 2 more of the same structure pack.
I think them not being legal and essentially being official proxies is a good thing. It protects them from scalpers and keeps them cheap, so people can learn the game at home or play casually at their locals. Those that are against proxies official or not want to play against your wallet and not your skill, that's how fragile their ego's are and let's be honest, a majority of players don't plan on playing in official tournaments, this game doesn't really have prizing that makes it worth it.
True. Also they have a signature on the front so even if you sleeved them it's obvious that they aren't legal copies of cards. They are good for learning a deck for fun if you're a complete noob (speaking from experience I remember a 2014-ish one with Accelgor I really liked) they aren't legal for tournament play.
As a former pokemon tcg player, believe me. The championship products that they provided were a waste of money since the cards provided were NOT tournament legal.
3x Albaz was how I first got from Master Duel to TCG and it def got me a few games too. This was when it first came out though, and it does make me wonder if 1) Its still viable as is and 2) if the other structure decks that came out after/will come out are good too
Albaz strike is pretty viable if you ask me but won't be a tournament winner. The Despia support is necessary for it to truly be consistent though. Crimson king and Beware Traptrix were both awesome structure decks, especially Traptrix, which is probably the best structure deck they've made. Fire kings is also really good even by itself but still nothing compared to the Snake-eye version.
[4:54] Sidenote: those awesome Pokémon decks aren't tournament legal, and they only tell you this in the fine print on the box... made me very sad to see this since they are the cheapest option for new players.
pokemon used to be the WORST game when it came to starter decks, giving players mostly underpowered bulk with a hand full of already cheap and accessible staples. Thankfully that changed and now they just sell you a top tier meta deck with literally everything you'd need. We need all games to be like that.
Hey Key, the only correction I would like to add to your video which was really good, is the comparison with the WC decks from pokemon as this are not tournament legal as these are more like collection products. If you see an unboxing, you will see that the cards are all non-foil with a colored back that's different from the normal cards that are Tournament legal.
I agree. Structure decks have definitely improved. My only concern at this moment is that they haven’t released anything new TCG side since the fire king deck. Hoping for something soon! I’m losing hope in them. Hoping for a new Atlantean deck in the future!

I bought an Eldlich and a live twin tactical try and mix them both as live twin lich and is having decent result in locals. Obviously getting ass blasted by tenpai and fk se but this is the greatest spending i ever did for ygo.
I hope they actually give us the exact same product here (with ban list consideration if need be) rather then a wimped version in comparison. Also just to clarify, which btw I'm jot the 1st person to ask, but i have used them before for fun, the Pokemon TCG worlds decks aren't legal in tournament play. The front has the signature of the player who used it at worlds, and the back is visually completely different then standard Pokemon cards. So they are banned for tournament play. Doesn't make them not cool tho.
Well we gotta wait for Atlantean to drop first cuz it's retrain got announced last year in December and we still haven't heard anything yet . also dragons collide structure deck retrain plz :)
You should do a video on duel links “structure decks”, they’re absolutely awful. Half of them aren’t even playable (literally) without outside additions.
