You failed to mention if that train was operating on VNSF, UP, CSX, NS, or CPKC trackage where damage to the tracks may have occurred of a weather-related incident may have shut down a section of track. I too have been shunted to a bus bridge around a track incident. It happens. Does an airline provide you with a parachute in case of an incident? LOL! Now you know why I no longer fly. Your comments reminded me to go purchase another bag of "Grabber" hand warmer packets. I have more problems keeping the fingers warm than the rest of the body. Hope that it starts warming up a bit more back there. We will ride in the 50s for a week or so. Not even any natural snow in the mountains for a while. That was a different station stop with car 8 instead of car 7. And the roll out included. There was a hint of a sunrise to come. Barely. I've worked wat too many "Graveyard" shifts to think about as well as driven to the base in the dark of the morning. It is neat to watch the daylight grow. Anyway, have a great Tuesday out there. We did put up the exterior Christmas lights yesterday. They all lit last night but may have to adjust the timer a bit. Most of our birds have moved on and I wish they would have taken the squirrels with them. The pesky things got to about 1/3 of the pears and they are still looking for more. Oh well. Hello, John; Thanks for stopping by and the comments. She didn't have mobility issues. Just the drop from the car to the platform. As I stated, I was unsure where the step was. Mandy is usually on spot with that. Yes, it was HGTV and the "Hometown Makeover" program. What a farce. The mayor at the time had her heart in the right place but not in what was needed to "revitalize " Fort Morgan. All but one of the businesses has removed the trappings installed by that group. The city has thankfully removed other trappings brought in by that show. Artwork placed on the exterior of several buildings has faded and removed. As for the homes involved, I am unsure what has become of them. At this time, I don't care anymore. There are other issues that need much more attention to move the city ahead. Off my soapbox. As for a timeline on the new platform.... who knows. AMTRAK now owns the station and surrounding area yet the new owners of the grain elevator are encroaching ever closer to that area. That last car is usually a combo coach/baggage car. In this consist that last car was a combo coach/cafe car or "club" car where the lower level is set up to provide the same libations and noshes as the lounge car. It is the only one in the train sets that operate as the California Zephyr.

Well by golly that's a real deal. Only on CZ you say. Do not recall ever seeing it, sounds good for coach folks going the full distance route. Cost of diner is excessive if even available. Sightseer lounge can get crowded so this would be good for coach folks for eating at least though on lower level not too great for viewing. Were there seats available on it, I couldn't tell.

@@benedmonson3445 Sadly, I don't think that part of the car was in use. There are others out there, but this is the only one I have seen in the Zephyr consists. There is a standard coach also operating as car 8 in the Zephyr train sets. Like the coach/baggage cars the only seating in use is on the upper level. Pre-COVID, the Zephyr ran a special train from Chicago to the Silicon Valley area for the high-end gamers and game creators. This car as well as one other were part of that 12-car trains that usually ran in February. buying a seat was nigh on impossible to those not in that sect.
