- Today's California Zephyr #5 arrived in Fort Morgan at 0611 MST (28 min. late). P42s #51 & #44 powered the 8-car consist to a stop with car 7 to the station platform for passenger service. There were no detraining passengers but a total of 10 new patrons did board the coach including 2 viewers. Meanwhile, Mr. Darrell stepped from the diner with a coffee and greetings for all via the camera. I was thrilled to have him stop by again. That included as greeting to Kenny.
With the station work safely completed, the high ball was given and on a clear signal. the Zephyr rolled west toward Union Station in Denver as its next stop.
My thanks to the operating crew for the greetings. And to Mr. Darrell for the coffee and greetings today.
Everyone please stay safe!

Boy, did I boo-boo today. I thank all of you who commented here today but that was not supposed to happen. Again, this channel will no longer be in use and will go moribund on 31DEC2024. I had turned off the comments for this channel and opened the new channel for comments and subscriptions. That new channel can be found by using the search box here on TH-cam and enter Michael Jensen@Mikeinmorgan in the box.
I will turn off the comments tomorrow for certain as I no longer have the time to answer all that come in on both channels.
I hope to see all of your comments on the new channel.
Please take care and stay safe!
Great video Mike and Mr. Darrelle is the best.
Yeah my great video glad to see it.
Merry Christmas to you too, Darrell.
Hi Mr. Darrell.
Good morning, Mike. Great video - this is the first day I'm able to comment since the switch. Happy to see Darrell and bittersweet he's shifting off the Zephyr. Anxious to see if I get to comment tomorrow now that I'm off the snide. Be careful, stay safe and watch out for those temps.
On a day like this you would need that coffee.
Great to see Darrell once again. Sad to hear he'll only be on this route a few more times. Good for him, sad for us. You're warmer than we are today in CT.
Mike, thanks for sharing the train with us folks in New York
Gday mike and Mr Darrell, thank you for your morning cheer, happy retirement from the long haul, ❤️
TGIF 🎉 Mike!
