Whitney Houston: The Rise and Fall of "America's Sweetheart"
I mean isn't it obvious guys? Dems had celebrities, but Trump literally is a celebrity.
Icons: Michael Jackson, Elvis, Elton John, Madonna, Prince. Beyoncé - no.
No serious person will vote by celebrity. Such practice is against the very idea of citizenship in every aspect.
Meanwhile, Trump only has Elon Musk, Joe Rogan, Dana White, Hulk Hogan, Undertaker and more to endorse him. Not as much as Kamala but the fact he has Elon on his side is enough because Elon is a genius.
If you don't know about us coloured people, then fucking shut your Bek, jou poes😮😮😮
let's face it... Trump is just a chad
Why would anyone decide how they are going to vote just because they watched some entertainers sing and twerk? It just goes to show the lack of depth, understanding, and insight that the Democrats are suffering from. Donald Trump certainly comes with many issues but his are NOT worse than the ones that would have come along with Kamala Harris. They are just different, I feel more dangerous.
I don't vote for celebrities # They live a rich life styles
Celebrities don't live like us they eat what they want travel # we cannot afford
if these rich celebs love kamala and the dems so much, why dont they give the money back and help pay off the debt? its not like oprah or beyonce are short of $... i mean fuck, why didnt they do it for free? because its all bullshit... also weird that obama and kamalas celebs are on certain lists
"Raises" over a billion dollars for campaigning, overspent for celebrity endorsements, still lost, and has a debt of 20+ million dollars after.
Celebrities just ruin everything these days why are people even listening to them at this point?
Wtf is this bullshit
There's a book on this -"Amusing Ourselves to Death: Public Discourse in the Age of Show Business" by Neil and Andrew Postman - “This is the lesson of all great television commercials: They provide a slogan, a symbol or a focus that creates for viewers a comprehensive and compelling image of themselves. In the shift from party politics to television politics, the same goal is sought. We are not permitted to know who is best at being President or Governor or Senator, but whose image is best in touching and soothing the deep reaches of our discontent. We look at the television screen and ask, in the same voracious way as the Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?" We are inclined to vote for those whose personality, family life, and style, as imaged on the screen, give back a better answer than the Queen received. As Xenophanes remarked twenty-five centuries ago, men always make their gods in their own image. But to this, television politics has added a new wrinkle: Those who would be gods refashion themselves into images the viewers would have them be.”
I'm glad that you brought up the Malcolm X video at the end of this one because let's just be honest even Malcolm X would even dislike American politics today, especially since he had a huge distaste for celebrities.😂
Why does everything seem to come back to Diddy
Meghan the stallion twerking during the campaign of who is supposed to be the first FEMALE president of the US was a poor choice. 😅
The biggest thing i see from this was that the Republican part started realizing if your guy IS the celebrity. More political points are heard and the masses are still engaged. Somehow the Democratic party didnt see the failure of Kerry and how they used celebrities for him vs an actual superstar like Obama who barely even needed them. The Republicans will run circles around the Democrats for decades if they dont realize this.
They had the opposite effect. If I was an American I would have voted for Trump because of the celebrities.

Celebrities can be helpful to compliment a message of a politician. For example Schwarzenegger endorsing Bush was convincing, because they shared their principles...but when they become the entire campaign it doesn't feel authentic
That’s what I said when she won the award in the American afrobeat genre I think for Grammy or something like that I can’t remember, but she isn’t a afrobeat artist. Americans try to box anyone who is from Africa who makes music as a afrobeat artist when there’s so many different genres in Africa. Anyone who knows South Africa knows how ampiano as become a huge wave over there and tyla mixes that along with a poppy sound sure they’ll be some afrobeat mixed in but that’s like trying to force Tyler the creator in the genre of rap music he isn’t which I feel like wouldn’t be right because he is more than just rap. But I don’t know what it was but I just remember seeing she won an award for being the best afrobeat artist in some American award ceremony and I was like wait what I can understand if it was the title of best international act but not afrobeats
Wait there was twerking at the campaigns?!? 😂
Harris campaigned as if half the country was African-American and that everyone liked rappers and rock stars.
I think a lot of people nowadays are overall more pessimistic and critical of what's presented to them. The celebrity endorsement strategy may have worked back in the day, but now to most people it just comes off as shallow. They feel like they're being manipulated and they don't like it.
Democrats got ruined by celebrities , but Trump had patriots behind him. Thanks Oprah for all the votes you got for Trump!😂
Just so everyone’s clear, Kamala Harris did not lose the election because of celebrity endorsements. She lost because she refused to do any interviews, talk about her policies and hoped Donald Trump would implode on himself. I don’t know why after 8 years people think his supporters are just going to flip on him because of something he said or did. It’s her fault she lost…
Are these money laundry operations?
I'm not the biggest fan of Tyla but she's trying her best to fit in even though she's being accused of some shits she's not well versed into because she is from a different country, PS I'm south African my friends singe her songs on the daily so she's made a big impact on my friends and they smile when they sing her songs so it makes me sad that such a great impactor is getting hate for being of a different culture and not understanding American culture when most Americans don't bother to learn about hers. I thought America was a free nation. but they bind singers to their beliefs as they have n thought for other cultures. another fact is South africa is known as the rainbow nation due to our vast variety of items and people, like table mountain alone has more plant types on it than the whole of Europe. ANOTHER RANT i was on yt and i mentioned afrikaans because its derieved from dutch (the video was in dutch) then someone was like: "africans isnt a language its a race get it right" like that aint what i said. anway thanks for reading about my rant i will gladly do more if i want to :)
Tyla’s situation made me realise that African Americans view Africans the way white Americans & Europeans view us
The whole video's script sounds AI generated...
She probably could've won if she donated most of the money spent to bring celebrities to the victims of Hurricane Helene and Milton. Celebrity power has declined excessively over the 2010s with the rise of social media. People are VERY conscious about the facade that many of them put up and most celebrities are honestly out of touch. I really wish Kamala Harris had invested more in seriously tackling the MANY issues Americans are struggling with than wasting time doing tiktok edits and recruiting celebrities especially rn with the whole Diddy case going on and how the public generally feels about them.
Social Media revealed that the majority of celebrities are legit idiots and there are far more intelligent people in society who garner less praise but do way more.
I fail to see how as a rational black man, a celebrity’s opinion should matter to me or influence my vote pattern. If we agree on a policy point, that is a given. If we don’t, they can F off.
They really haven’t, there just trying to stay in the current day and trends to not just be boring
if you pay millions for the most laziest campaign with celebrity in it, youre an idiot
Just perform, get your check and go home
It’s this point, VEEP staring Julia Louis- Dreyfus is becoming less of a satire and more of a documentary.
They entertain us. May not guide us. So simple. Their job is entertain us.
She's not representing South African culture. Zulus, Xhosa, Tswanas, Pedi, Venda, Tsonga, Sotho, Ndebele cannot relate to her. She is just a pop performer. Far from African. She is right about being coloured. They think they're better than black African people. Even Sho Madjozi far transcends African Culture. She aint representing none of us Africans. She just shakes her tailfeather nje.
U.S.S keep proving the image they created to themselves outside of U.S.A- They're stupid 🙃 They know nothing about the world outside, thinking everyone looks up to them and need to fall in line with them, while hanging on to their pasts, identifying themselves as no more than their ancestors' faults or miseries and projecting it onto others instead of living their lives in the present and learn from their ancestors' mistakes as they create a new inclusive reality where your skintone means nothing but genetics...
Thats not the Zulu flag btw

I knew she was gonna lose when j lo got up there. You're endorsing someone who's under investigation.
Just to add to the Reagan segment… yes he was a famous celebrity but he was also Governor of California for almost 10 years… he had a track record and that gave him more cache with the public along with the celebrity endorsements.
Yup, that was one hell of a film! Angela Basset was fantastic in the role of Tina. When the film was sent out in limited release, I wondered to myself what the hell was wrong with the people in Hollywood.
I'm so glad that I never bought bruce stringbean or bon Julies records....YOUSK!! That billion dollars couldve fed a lot of people, I'm glad she lost......AHA.
When Socialist Revolution took place in Russia in 1917 and the Red Terror started, Vladimir Lenin said, "Do not touch carriers, prostitutes and artists. They are ready to serve any power". Looks he was 100% right about it.
This is the worst campaign I've ever seen... And i go back to Nixon. Good grief😅😅😅
:15. 😂😂😂😂😂 They expected to win with an out of shape woman twerking..... Oh I'm convinced😝😝😝😝
