The Balance of Life: Chaos and Order
You can contact me at mbti2679@gmail.com for any business inquiries, questions, or stories! You may be featured in a video sometime in the future!
Video Editing by Efrain Acevedo, fellow INTP. Thank you so much!
The video clips are from Pexels.com and the music is from unminus.com, both are free to use!
Today I discuss an important lesson I learned while reading Jordan Peterson's book "12 Rules of life." And that is finding a good balance to life between chaos and order. Today's topics include:
How INTPs can become nihilistic and believe life has no meaning. Also why INTPs should reject this concept
Finding a good balance between being safe and being aggressive in life
The difference between Chaos and Order
The meaning of the Taoist symbol, better know as the Ying and Yang
Why I believe INTPs can be too safe in life, including being stuck in the Ti-Si loop of death
Finding the right balance in life between chaos and order. The path that will give you fulfillment.

In my 20s I would say I acted like the sage without knowing anything about MBTI and knowing I am INTP. People constantly called me arrogant or a smartass, a colleague literally said "did you eat your wisdom with a spoon or some shit?". Since then I am a sage to myself only, everyone will have to gobble my dick before I share any wisdom.

I've been in Fi Demon mode for over a year. It was activated by family who took advantage of ne. It put me into difficulties I have not been able to figure a way out of. The resulting fallout is that i am utterly estranged from that family. Those bridges are burnt. Things have been said that will never be unsaid. I've been through major difficulties with this in the past too. So this mode isnt just necessarily fleeting. Sometimes you can get permanently stuck here. The only solution for me currently is to accept that the relationship with that once close family member is over. I have to move on. Maybe years from now it will be resolved. But currently there's no resolution. Unless I move away and cut them out of my life i will remain in a permanent state of anger and rage. My Ti tells me it's over - accept. Walk away.

Gen-X INTB. I was the “smart kid that didn’t apply himself.”…the underachiever. Barely got through HS. Barely got into college but failed out after 2 years. Joined the military and spent the next 25yrs being trained, conditioned, programmed to be an ENTP or ESTJ…always focused on success and getting the job done. It helped me beat the tendency for procrastination. It wasn’t until I retired from the military did I realize who I was and it was 2 days ago I took the MBTI test and discovered I was an INTB. Im so blown away by the accuracy…like many INTBs, in tow days I know more about MBTI than 90% of the population.

If your an INTP you purposely ignoring some socially acceptable cues. People with autism do not recognize them. This is one of the biggest misconceptions INTPs deal with. Having uneducated overly traditional parents for INTPs can be torture, and they will literally not get the first two sentences.

INFPs fit better the Sage archetype. Healthy INTPs are more like Sorcerer ("scientists"). And Jung clearly was not an INTP. His terminology is too much imprecise and, sometimes, even confusing.

I think this is most destruktive in combination with inferior fe. It sometimes makes me far to willing to sacrifice what I want dor others. One step for me has been to at least say what I want even if I let the other person have it there way. Then at least the other person knows I made a sacrifice for you.

I like that you portrai the intp in this way. To often people get stuck in the logic, robotic, technical steriotype. Helping people around you with lifes problems sounds good to me. Thats something a actually whant to do. Also ti is internal logic so it can go quite wrong if you dont use ne fe for input output from/to the real world.

This was an interesting video I recognize a lot of these things in myself. I do have a quiet scary anger and it flips me into someone I really don't want to be. I have to disagree with one thing you said though. I think intp:s can be quite good counsellors and not necessarily always technical. They seek understanding and knowledge and are good problem solvers. They are normally not pushy and let people be how they are. Sounds like a pretty good counselor to me. I suspect that intp:s that puts their mind into understanding humans could be great in that kind of role.

Learning I am wrong makes me stronger/smarter, I never feel bad about that. I don't care how you feel about my rock solid logic. The means justify the ends, and the ends do not matter. It is not my purpose to change your mind, it is my purpose to tell you the truth. My truth is a seed that will bear fruit in due time. Hear me now, believe me later.

Hey man, great job with identifying some of the issues. I found much value in some of these observations. I think as INTPs we wish we were more like INTJ or ENTJ because that would allow us to 1. Not deal with issues around people, 2. Excecute and follow-through with our idealized plans.

I married, and divorced, someone who was INFP. I am INTP. I felt like we mutually activated our dark-sides despite having a lot in common. I don't want to say a whole lot in a public comment but this analysis gives me an understanding of what happened. Using this model, I think we were perhaps attracted to the Ne in each other but having opposing hero and demon functions was bad, super bad. Edit: I also have this anarchist revolutionary dark side in which I fantasise about just tearing everything down.

I've been thinking about the doom loop and had a revelation about just how strong is my motivation to build a comfort zone in which to Ti-out. I wanted to be a Victorian Oxford don with tenure and a private income so I could pursue obscure academic subjects in the comfort of a Dark Academia room with a roaring fire. I just realised consciously just how much my financial and business decisions are motivated by this. I don't fit in to a world of targets and deliverables and I make my money by providing high criticality, low frequency tech support for legacy systems.

Another problem I have is that I am politically homeless. If a politician says anything that's remotely untrue, even once, I cannot support that politician or their party. One example is when Jack Straw (UK Foreign Secretary at the time) called St George a "Turkish Arab". I am very interested in the history of the Eastern Roman Empire ... and St George (according to legend) was a Cappadocian Greek and lived long before there was a country called "Turkey" and even before the time of the Ottoman Empire. And he certainly wasn't Arabic. He would have had Persian heritage if anything, and Persians are not Arabs. (Modern-day Iran is not an Arab state.) The equivalent would be calling an indigenous person who lived on what we now call North America, an "American". Of course, Jack Straw was connected to the Iraq War nonsense, and I don't trust him because of that, but it was really the "Turkish Arab" nonsense that killed any trust I had because I would have thought that a Foreign Secretary should have had at least a basic understanding of history. Every UK party has politicians that are equally idiotic, ill-educated, or just plain stupid. Argh.

  • @robscovell5951
    @robscovell5951 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

When I was at school we had to do "English Comprehension" tests. We would read a passage from a book and then answer questions on it. I always thought the questions were stupid and obvious and I couldn't see the point of writing the answers so I would get marked down. A similar thing happened with maths exams. I flunked my History exams because I knew the answer and couldn't be bothered writing it down at all, and just ended up day-dreaming about the historical scenario the questions were about. (We studied the French Revolution and Italian Unification.) I would look at the problem and solve it in my head and write down the answer but I got into trouble for "not showing my working". Of course, "showing your working" is the way that INTPs improve their lives in relation to the outside world.

I was in a Ti-Si loop for long and I was sure that I'm an INFP. After I won this death loop and becom super social and organised I came back to MBTI test and I've got ENFJ. I wasn't sure about it, I thought I'm an INTJ for long, when I was studying MBTI. But now I understood that I'm an INTP. I just didn't like this stereotypes about them, like they're lazy geniuses, they are home guys. I wanted to look in a future more and more, like Ni user, so I didn't like Si. I hated my lazy part, I hated pointless life, so I wanted to be like INTJ. And my friends thought I am. But now I understood that I'm an INTP and this is nice, I can be social, I can be goofy, I can be charismatic, smart, enterprising, original. I have all the tools to be anyone. I like my type and now I know how to become more than just lazy genius. Thank you for this video)

I don't consider any of it to have increased my potential.
