    The payoff/reward for maintaining a victim mentality is that we can shift our responsibility for our own lives onto someone else. That way we can always blame other people for what's not working in our lives. It probably diminishes the guilt we feel for not reaching our potential. That is, until we learn that taking responsibility for our own lives and creating/authoring what we want in this life is the greatest gift we could give ourselves. I highly recommend Dorothea Brande's book "Wake Up and Live" for overcoming victim mentality.

    These videos are useful as a fellow INTP myself. I started changing my life for the better and I can see some positive changes already. I texted my crush out the other day and she was the one who asked me if I wanted to go to lunch together and there I was sulking for months doing absolutely nothing.
    Keep doing what you're doing mate. I know for certain you've impacted my life and will impact other's lives.

      What do you think thinking entails? because it's not just one thing in and of itself.
      Because saying that you have the best thinking capabilities can mean a lot of things from how you organize information, to internal consistency to how quickly you can categorize information etc...
      So what do you mean?

      @@micolashillustratum5809 since it's been a week since you asked I'll throw my thoughts in.
      I think what the message he is trying to convey is that we can use our high capacity for thought to come up with countless "solutions" to our "problems"
      Say an INTP feels insecure physically, we can think of hundreds of ways to increase our physical confidence, we can identify gyms, marshal arts classes.
      But simply thinking up solutions is never enough for us cus we're bad at follow through.
      So let's take our thinking to the next level and think about how our continued patterns of behavior are playing out in our life and basicaly think ourself into going to the gym. In my example.
      I think he is trying to say we can actually think our way out of the negative aspects of our "condiction"
      Its leaning on our strengths to nurture our weaknesses I guess?

    Hello, Thanx Tyler, You are amazing, and your skills!
    We (INTPs) should fight back and take back What was ours and lost because of our Apathy(carelessness). Remove apathy and think, I want this, I want a particular thing(Grades, money, job, soulmate, love from family, etc) but have something in your heart and mind that keeps, the clock ticking; metaphor: our life.
    Just do it and don't let life pass by; I also have the same tendency but from last year, I confronted people, who had done bad towards me, and scary situations (LOL !) rather than chilling there and thinking, yes, It was not bad behavior or it is normal. I fight back and I find it is amazing rather than feeling bad.
    PUSH Forward INTPs ! World still needs US !

    About Te, I agree it's hard to understand this function. It also could be understood as what other people think and what society thinks. High Te users generally make a lot of research and are much more humble than we are, seeking the truth in others research and theories, while a high Ti user will mainly focus on his own thoughts and logic to come to conclusions which is not always a good thing, for example ISTP's (also Ti hero) can sometimes be stubborn, arrogant and very narrow-minded, thinking they know better than anybody else. We (INTP's) luckily have Ne parent so we're more open-minded with our Ti. Te nemesis could mean that we think people/society are stupid and illogical

    New subie here. Love the content! I just started my MBTI journey though I first typed some years back but it never occurred to me to seriously explore understanding myself to this level until about two weeks ago. And it's so validating! I now understand why I do the things I do in the way that I do (or don't do lol)
    The unending feeling that you're wasting your potential but no motivation or will to improve. Doing things in your head and your brain getting convinced you did them IRL but you never did! (this happens so often) Being forgetful about small simple things but not that complex concept you learnt in school 10 years ago. Always having great ideas that come with bursts of energy but getting spent or tired or bored just as fast, abandoning the pursuit mid journey and forgetting the main goal that got you started in the first place.
    Even before knowing what MBTI typing is I always knew I would prefer a partner (in business and in life) who's a doer because I knew that's a weak area for me. And I am always keen on that. Keep doing this videos. I am here for the content. It's validating and enlightening.
    Quick question... do you think we should work on our weaknesses or just focus on out strengths?I mean everyone has weaknesses why should be obsessed in fixing ours instead of shining in our strengths like everyone does?

      @intpsurvivalguide2473  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the great comment and subbing! I push more on using your strengths. But I hope this will eventually help with your weaknesses I believe. I have become more social as I have gotten over my Fe inferior insecurity. I try to be a little more "in your face" (Se trickster). However the reason I can do this is I believe in my Ti hero to always back me up. Thanks again!

      @@intpsurvivalguide2473 As a woman, society doesn't appreciate us being "in your face"--we are seen as being a b*tch (mostly by other women, mostly by feeling types and extraverts). I guess I could just not care if others have that opinion about me, but it's difficult. My brother is ENTP and he's much more in your face than I am, but it's accepted. If I get "in your face" it's, "Lisha is going off the rails!"
      Something that has worked for me though is just being honest but in as nice a way as possible. I just have to be me and sometimes I do just have to explain myself. People are starting to understand me a lot more and be more accepting of my idiosyncrasies and that I'm just different than them. Probably partially because I'm learning to understand myself through this personality/INTP research. That's thanks to people like you :)

    I regularly come up with seemingly brilliant ideas which provide solutions to market demands, often two or three times whilst showering.
    I often flesh these solutions out in minute detail, including research to arrive at specific components to include within the finished product, efficient manufacturing methods to employ, and even strategies to ensure that while various subcontractors manufacture component group sets autonomously, reasonable care ensures that no two might come into contact which might result in intellectual piracy. I exhaustively contemplate marketing strategies, supply and delivery logistics, business plans, and on and on.
    When I’m certain that I’ve got something with potential, and I’ve purchased the catchy domain name and trademarks, it’s “mission accomplished”, and time to hop in the shower again to think up something new.
    Which MBTI personality type might provide the yin to my yang, the one who can execute? Clearly, I’m incapable. Skipping the shower for baby wipes and tea tree oil only buys me more time to refine a plan towards perfection. Must execute!

      Tendency to not notice how one’s own physical characteristics are perceived.
      Most people are dumb enough to imagine that physical characteristics matter. Which makes them matter. Which means that the typical intp concerned with deeper things is putting out an image of self that’s far worse than what it could be

      @@SigFigNewton It's not really dumb to think that physical matters. It's a part of our society. Physical fitness is an issue of discipline and has a direct effect on the brain's health. one trick i can share to intps.... negative sides of things are godsend if one is willing to see it in a proper and accurate oerspective, just accept whats given no matter whatever it is.
    heres an example to paint a picture, if i may.... child growing up with very kind parents who gives the child whatever the child asked. One his 18 birthday... he wanted a porche but find to expensive and only can afford to buy a pick up for their kids birthday! So what you think happen next? The kid become a raging bull is an understatement.
    The question is... what is the child often get negative to what he wants hmm?
    So the parents made aure their child only get whats needed and appropriate and will not get what their child wants so learn self control as inevitable by product, so the child can recover quicker after being disappointed.
    Failure is better than success... coz its humbling and make you a better person.

I used to overcome social shaming against me by simply making others ridiculed acting against their push. It was like "they reject me because they are mindless and evil and must be shamed for it". I know this is "Fi" being used as a weapon, that's why I want a second opinion. I made them depressed and enraged back, which replenished my inner balance somehow time to time.

    I was depressed for years but knew I didn't want to be depressed so I constantly used trial-and-error to get out of it! Still have to do that now from time to time (Should I increase my dose, should I actually rest for three days, should I force myself to go on a walk, should I schedule a social interaction to force myself out of the house, etc) It gets better! 🙌🙌🙌 I've also developed methods to compensation for Fe inferior and Fi demon. Providing emotional support can be very formulaic when it comes down to it.

    • @lishayost144
      @lishayost144 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's almost as if I wrote your comment! I think as INTPs we want a formula that works and always works, so we can go about our life and focus on things we enjoy, but life is not that way. The maintenance of life is a dread. Acceptance of this fact does help.
      I have written lists of things for self-care so that when I feel out of sorts, depressed, anxious, etc, I can look at my lists to see what I might need to do for myself to take care of myself. A lot of times I stop looking at that list, and eventually create another list, or randomly happen upon my list when I don't "need" it.
      There is too much we need to do for ourselves to take care of ourselves in this physical world. Sometimes I need to rest, sometimes I need to journal, exercise, eat, drink water, do work/accomplish something, talk to a friend, meditate, get alone time, etc.
      I have also found that I have chemical imbalances. Through all my own personal trial and error, I have found that GABA helps me with my anxiety, L-phenylalanine helps me with feelings of frustration and Lithium Orotate helps me with depression. I also take melatonin at night. All of this makes me feel like a human rather than a monster lol ;)
      Acceptance of ourselves and how we feel can really go a long way. If we don't accept it, we feel discontent that we need to fix something. When I accept something, it seems to lose its power.

    Hi @INTP Survival Guide Thanks alot for making thses videoes, really interesting and helpful.
    How would an INTP with ADHD or ..maybe more likely, with ADD look like? Any thoughts or ideas about that?
    I wonder sometimes, if i might have one of those ..or is it just Ne Parent scooping through alot of ideas and possibilities?
    lets just say i have ADHD/ADD, would that make the Ne Parent way harder for me? Since my brain isnt on a leash, sort of more like a jacked up puppy on a huge field, running around sniffing here and there and all over the place at the same time.
    And a diagnosis like that would probably intervene with alot of our other functions too.
    Never been diagnosed, but in the later years i have gathered some suspicion that there might be something.
    Hope you understood my short but complex question.

    I do not feel like in an intp becouse my social situatuons have not been awkward..maybe becouse i have been outgoing my whole life and im an introvert i have always been interested in people and pychology so i cant relate to the "not best in social situations" i have always been able to connect to people and have the analitical brain

    I'd say Ni, Te is the best combo in today's day and age if your goal is to make yourself happy.

    • @intpsurvivalguide2473
      @intpsurvivalguide2473  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Ni/Te combo of the INTJ is a very good combo but I would still argue the Ti/Ne is the best. The problem is most INTPs do not use this to their advantage because of their other issues. If you would provide some arguments as to why you think it is better my mind could be changed

      @@intpsurvivalguide2473 If the goal is making yourself happy, and not something else like helping the society/coming up with some amazing new invention/curing cancer etc., then I think you must conclude that Ni, is the best hero function by far. Ti of an INTP can get very easily lost in analyzing random stuff just for the sake of obtaining more knowledge. Ti simply wants to work on analyzing something at all times and doesn't care if it's currently useful or not. Ni on the other hand has a practical goal and after achieving it, it's not just left with random knowledge, but with something tangible, like a career, higher social status, better connections, more money etc. Now for Ne vs Te, I don't have much to say against Ne, it's a great function on its own, but when paired with Ti the final combo isn't the best possible you could get. Te is obviously great with Ni, as it feeds it practical pieces of data that are not too detailed, and allow Ni to move quickly. And if Ni, Te do their job, then the INTJ's Fi Child will make them super happy.

      @intpsurvivalguide2473  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess I am thinking of a more practical use case and not happiness per se. If we are talking happiness I would actually put Se/Ti of the ESTP and possibly Se/Fi of the ESFP near the top. Being in the moment and having fun is a big concern for these two types, so I think they are well suited for happiness. Yes the INTJ will produce much more tangible results than the INTP. But if the INTP can become healthy and have confidence in their abilities, I think the Ti/Ne is the best. What problem in the world or concerning life in general can an enlightened INTP not solve? With all information needed via the Internet, their intellectual prowess can be limitless. Your argument is strong though. An INTJ and INTP combo would be unstoppable. The Ne feeding the Ni and Ti also seeing "better" ways for the Te to react would be a great combination

      @@intpsurvivalguide2473 I guess you could argue that an INTP could invent something like Neuralink and make himself happy by altering his brain function... 😃 But if we're talking about an average INTP, not someone like Elon Musk, I really don't think it's that amazing to be one. I'd say that INTPs have very high highs and very low lows, so you can't know whether you're going to be the next INTP to invent a brain-machine interface or the next INTP to be without a job and addicted to video games (hello Si child). INTJs are a lot more stable in my opinion and I like that. So my conclusion would be: If you want to revolutionize the world with some groundbreaking new technology and believe that you will get lucky, choose to be born as an INTP. If you want a very good chance of having a comfortable life and being happy, choose to be born as an INTJ. And btw, the reason why I think that an INTJ would be happier than an ESFP for example, is because Se doesn't seem to be as useful of a function to have in the first slot. The world is becoming more and more dominated by technology and I think that it's not doing types with high Se much good. I think that future belongs to the intuitives.

    1. "You're just going to have to get over that" is a meaningless phrase.
    2. Warren Buffet does NOT have money problems.
    3. You keep saying "you are the best equipped to handle that", but that is just a vacuous statement. Intellect is nothing without data to process, and without opportunities or resources to act upon. If you try a bunch of things, and get zero feedback or progress from the universe, it doesn't matter how smart you are.
    4. The exercise analogy is not convincing. I've delved numerous times in to a variety of exercise programs with varying degrees of results. Possibly I'm healthier for that, but that hasn't improved my life in any material way, which is why it is hard to stick with. There are a lot of things you can "just do" but that doesn't mean they are going to accomplish anything.
    5. none of this is relevant for unsolvable problems.
    I coudn't even make it through this video. It's just a bunch of pointless cheerleading.

      1. As INTPs begin to age and mature we can get start to get over our insecurities. This in turn can help us lead the lives we truly want. The Ti hero may also confirm that action is best
      2. Warren Buffet has shareholders that he is responsible for. If his fund would happen to lose 10% in a day, I would consider that "money problems" not just for him but also his shareholders. So I think your comment is short-sighted.
      3. The INTP is the best with coming up with a solution to a complex logical problem. However INTPs are TERRIBLE at actually doing anything. This is what I mean by that.
      4. Transformation can take 1-2 years. Sounds like you just weren't getting the results you expected and gave up. Instead of owning up to this fact you, you use faulty logic to justify your decision not to exercise.
      5. Maybe not but I try my best
      Thanks for the debate!
