I've always had a high score on these tests. And what's interesting, when talking about schizoids, they use Sheldon as an example, when talking about autistics, they also use Sheldon, and the same with INTPs 😂 What the hell, Sheldon is just an INTP with autism or what, because not all autistics like him

Watching these INTP videos feel like someone's been reading my journal... it's odd. And I love it. It's very comforting. I've felt like an alien or robot for as long as I can remember, being completely misunderstood. I try SO hard and spend so much energy thinking about my word choices, vocal inflections, and how I'll be interpreted only to wind up pissing people off anyway. It's nice to feel understood, so thanks for these videos.

Being a female INTP, that really is one major pitfall I fall into in life over and over again. Because we are just socially conditioned and expected to be nice. Period. Try not being nice, you'll definitely be called (or thought to be) a bitch. I have learned that once you elicit that response, whomever is giving it should instantly lose your respect as an INTP. Now when I say "not being nice", is like what you said, that inferior function making us honest despite social expectations, and we're mostly not even aware of doing something that pisses people off. Ironically what we should really do is practise self compassion (Fi), that's the function we really should be engaging in, you know, cutting yourself some slack for not being 100% socially, which is just practically unachievable. Doing what we feel comfortable doing. Sometimes THAT is what earns you respect. Just by being yourself. I hope all INTPs practise this, it will make you fall into the company you need and want, instead of shallow perfunctory social harmony that's not going to last anyways.

  • @dragonofdeath1

I neither kiss ass or make enemies. I typically withdraw from most social events and conversations unless I know everyone there. I find it easier to read in my room most of the day. This has caused me problems in the past but honestly I find it more usefull than social chit-chat. I find most people, probably about 95% or more to be idiots. Hate to say it, but it's true.

In my experience, I had people trying to run over me because they had a false idea of myself. Then I showed them that I am not a person to mess around with, and they have not tried to do it again.
The thing is that our Ti can make us really bold and straightforward. And as you say in the video, don't let others harm you, you don't need to be liked by people who don't deserve you. You need to strengthen yourself with arguments and fight them back.

  • @5pancerny200

Nice to hear from you Tyler. As an INTP I always break social harmony by just being myself, which automatically pisses off half of the people in the room. But to be fair it also makes other half more interested in having a friendship relation, so I do not complain. Maybe that's because in primary school I have been bullied a lot, due to my smartass and know-it-all attitude, which lead my to two conclusions - one was to have my temperament a bit tempered (which I've implemented over time to a degree which satisifies me and majority of people I care about around me) and the other was to develop a thick skin and ignore unreasonable criticism of people, especially from those who do not have good will towards you, because most of the time those kind of folks also do not know why they do not like you and despite what you do to befriend them, they will always find a reason to despise you.
By the way please remove those german oldest profession adverts from the comment section, they are really annoying.

as an INFJ i envy the INTPs , in a good way. I wish I could see the world with a detached and objective point of view. The logical mind of an INTP is very intriguing to me and teaches me a lot about using my Ti function. Also, I agree that social harmony is over rated. I hate the fact that I care about people, its draining. No matter how much you care for people, they will always let you down or back stab you. So to all the INTPs out there, be your yourself. You are all truly unique individuals do not worry about that Fe Inferior because I'm here to tell you that being a people pleaser is a one way street to hell. do not set yourself up for that kind of disappointment !

Good timing on this subject. As a intp and fearful avoidant, I'm now working on my boundaries. Im definitely a people pleaser but, don't let people walk on me... But i do want some of that harmony. I try to keep my mouth shut as I tend to say too much and make things weird. Not weak but, being too open can come off as weakness.

INTP’s need harmony in their environment that doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t take action to achieve it.
The INTP uses logic and reason to create harmony by bringing to light what others don’t see or understand and is causing chaos and discomfort.
The starting point for any INTP that wishes to create harmony in a non confrontational way is to accept the following; Nobody chooses to be an idiot, yet we all play the part.
This approach is a call to action for any INTP that struggles with speaking up for themselves or those around them to achieve the harmony that all personality types enjoy. Good luck to all my INTP peoples.

I have zero social harmony with my boss and it is very tough. I had to show him i was not a push over in a sense because he would have me show others how to program as well as i can. He did this so he could get his family and friends in there. Once i get everything figured out and all the problems solved its easier for others to take ur place.
Its been done twice to me now. But the difference is the second time i did not bow down. I took the most difficult road. He still needs me but does not like me. Anytime i feel like im losing i give him another reason why he still needs me.

It depends on the people around you, and your upbringing. I was very popular in school and I rubbed elbows with everyone. I often said F social harmony. I am very disagreeable, and my peers and teachers knew at any moment I might go in on them. That actually made people love and respect me. I'll be 33 in 7 days and I'm a USA Drill Sergeant.

Yeaaah man. You gotta put yourself first especially if you’re a people pleaser. I try to meet people where they’re at. But I can see when people are doing fucked up shit behind my back. I’ve learned to say “stop that shit” and call it out and not be afraid of confrontation. Because in the back of my mind, I know I got my reasons for why I feel this certain way. I guess it wasn’t really that I cared so much about that relationship or friendship with others regarding the harmony aspect, it was more of how the perception of me would change. Because I am so quite and I try to attach myself to the social harmony aspect, there is a certain perception that people perceive me as. Typically a nice dude. So when I lash out my boundaries and enforce it, it can be a shock to people. With practice I stopped giving a fuck because I know how truly important this is knowing that I was a pushover in my early years and this is needed. And if they wanna be cool or enemies afterwards, i’m fine with either. I just know what kinda person you are after your reaction to my boundaries. Because sometimes people know what they’re doing to take advantage of you and sometimes people aren’t genuinely aware. But the more situations you get in and experience the bad and the good, you’ll recognize patterns of both ends and then you’ll be able to determine what to do next. My cut off game is quick 😂😂😂 But i’m also willing to forgive too if I know that someone is genuine about their intentions. But…. as of recent, nope. Fuck those people lol.

I am currently in a situation where I had a friend who became my enemy (he threatened to degrade my reputation and all that) and basically stole a part of my identity. I have the power to own back this identity but it could cost me a lot. In a previous video, you explained that INTPs tend to take revenge at the price of destroying themselves, and presented it as a flaw. Now the situation is sort of a double-bind and I have difficulty concluding. Can I get your opinion on that? Thank you, very much.
