Update I am sorry that I have been gone for too long and I am overwhelmed by the support that you have given me here. Some of you still asking about me. I don’t know where to start. I have been in constant pain and stress about everything that happened but my brother in law is now exposed to everyone about what he did to me. For those of you who think he is in love with me, he isn’t. He very much hates my guts and has done since the day I rejected him. Hate is also a driving force and not only love. So for the stupid users (that I would like to call losers) who made fun of me it about me (bragging?) about a man not being over me in 20 years, that’s is not it. If this is bragging, then you’re actually very sick in the head. Unfortunately I was sent these comments from a different sub about (updates?). What a bunch of losers. I was in constant fear that my brother in law will be hurting my sister because of me and I am not certain if he will. But that was the only reason I have been “apathetic”. I have heard he is planning on leaving the city because everyone knows what he did now and he is having a hard time with it. He barely leaves the house and he has been shamed, even at work. My ex husband and I are moving on with the divorce. I don’t blame him for believing the rumors but at the same time I wish he knew me better like I thought he did. That I would never do such a thing and cheat on him. I am so sorry that he moved back for me and probably was hoping we could give it another chance but I can’t. He has apologized so many times and said so many times that he never truly believed the rumors but I have started to think that our marriage wasn’t strong enough to overcome a rumor. Update Ope yeah sorry. Reddit isnt the most used app on my phone. And unfortunately nothing interesting has happened. My sister visited and was actually pretty supportive. We mutually decided i would stay low contact with family and she would damage control since she lives closer to them. My bf is doing well and his family is amazing. I haven’t heard from my family outside my sister since i blocked them. My life isnt that dramatic unfortunately but im thankful its over. Thanks for everyones support!!

Update after 2 years. Hi Reddit long time no see, I have some updates for you but first I want to thank you for all your comments and messages. Everytime I log into this account I am bombarded by mostly positive things and I appreciate it a lot. I am unsure if anybody will read this but for those who want updates they are mainly good ones. With that out of the way, let's get to it. My parents are divorced now, after many fights and tantrums from my Mother. She kept the house and got a bulk payment but that is it. My Dad is like a new man and we are all so happy for him. A little throwback: when all the drama happened, we did not fire our cleaning lady! this is a woman that had been helping my husband's family for decades and I was very stressed out about her being out of work because of what my crazy family did. Also, we are not slobs and she is not polishing floors on her knees or anything like that. In any case, my Dad spoke with her and told her she was on paid vacation and until we had a new house to please wait for us if she wanted but she was absolutely not fired. She was really happy about it and so was her family. My Dad started to get food and stuff from them from time to time because they were so thankful about what he was doing for them. Well......... She has a sister, who owns her own nail salon, and my Dad is dating her now. She is a very lovely woman and has grown children so she understands the dynamics happening sometimes. He has been very clear he is not moving or marrying and she is pleased with that because she likes her independence. My Mother nearly had a stroke when she heard about his new relationship and kept saying it was a late mid life crisis and he had to resort to be a sugar daddy, this is obviously what I heard because I don't have any contact with her. But last I heard she is having a hard time. She is struggling because she was never good at budgeting and relied on my Dad to put a stop on ridiculous purchases. My sister is also struggling because my Dad is not helping her with money anymore. You'll see, he was willing to keep helping for the sake of my nephew but then things got very rough. My nephew started calling my kid an affair baby, how she is not with her real dad, called my other nephews delusional, and during a birthday party he even pushed one of my nephews on my husband's side saying they were not my kid's cousins only he was. The kids were perplexed and so so so confused but immediately told an adult about it. My Dad spoke with him but he kept repeating it, he spoke with my sister and she said she could do nothing to prevent a kid from telling the truth and didn't all kids tell always the truth? he told her until there is a change he is cutting them off. She panicked and cried but she is also super stubborn so now my nephew goes to public school because "my Husband made my Dad cut them off". Bates, well, he is still unemployed. I know I was cryptic about it but he was in an industry related to vulnerable women and some of it related to stalking (irony much?) that's why he was fired, the organization he was in didn't want this to splash on them. I have received 2 more very long handwritten rambling letters from him and since he only has my lawyer's address guess who has the honor of receiving, reading, and file those ramblings? I love my lawyer and he is a champ. Apart from that and the gossip I have not had bad issues related to him except for one: I was at the grocery store and a random woman came over to ask if my kid was Bates' baby, I was speechless and shocked. I asked her what she was on and she said he has a photo of us on his profile and I should be ashamed of myself for hurting such a good man. Turns out he is still going by the narrative my kid is his and I loved him so much. That is all old news but at the end what shocked me the most was the pic comment. This is not a photo that has been public or anything like that, it was sent to a family group once and that is it. I told my husband immediately and he was enraged but composed, we decided to smoke out the rat. Long story short it was my Dad's two sisters feeding info to my Mom. My Dad was so disappointed but also had no doubts cutting them off, they are still begging him to talk to them again. My brother and his family are doing great, we see them a lot and have been in some family holidays since the last update. They are also NC with my Mom and sister, my SIL is actually super happy about it because it turns out she was not a fan of our Mom but kept the peace. My in laws keep being lovely as well, we allow MIL overnight babysitting now too and she is over the moon with it. Sometimes she has all her grandchildren under the same roof and they are all delighted to be with her, she is a former flight attendant so their favorite game is to pretend airplane. Overall they love her and we know she is good with out kid so we not worry. She had to make her socials private because my Mom kept stalking her, I am sure she is extremely jealous but she made her own bed. Lastly, my Husband keeps me sane whenever little things come up. We are thinking if we should have another baby or maybe adopt one, we are still undecided. We have a great support system and the privilege to have this conversations. I still miss my Mom a lot, I sometimes cry when I realize there are milestones I can no longer share with her but she is a bad person and the safety of my family matters more. Last fun fact: this father's day they actually went camping, it went great apart from the mosquito bites and some ill placed sunburns.

Story1: OMG. One of the sickest things that I ever heard. First I can understand OP not going nuclear on his son. This is his kid and he instinctively wants to protect him. Not destroy him. He hopes that the son can be salvaged without damaging his reputation for the rest of his life. Problem is that he son is too far gone and nobody recognised it. The therapist might have given a heads up that she was getting nowhere but... nothing. The mother's reaction was another iteration of the protection mode that OP showed. OP covered it up to protect his son. Mom threw OP under the bus (OP mentioned that the marriage was already rocky but didn't specify) in order to to protect her son. She found it easier to think the worst of her husband than her child. A Momma bear protecting her cub. Turns out to have been the wrong choice. So both parents kind of fooled themselves into believing what they wanted to believe. Dad thinking that son was redeemable. Mom believing her lying POS offspring. Son sounds like a little psycho playing them both and putting an end to any slim hope for them as a family. Glad that OP found a new life and family. Glad that Colby cannot be hurt any more. Story2: OP didn't make it terribly clear but it sounds like his ExW was in the military and in an affair with her CO. Pretty serious stuff. That would explain the arrests he talked about. Can end in up to a year in the stockade. The threats of self harm may be a ploy to garner sympathy and lessen the consequences. The wife lost respect when OP became a student and she became a bread winner. She started thinking of him as less than he guy she took orders from. No criticism of OP here. He was trying to better himself and be a better man for his wife and his family. She was being selfish and short sighted rather than a loyal partner. I don't believe that the ExW leaving him would have ended up happening. Too much fallout. Her CO was stringing her along, making promises to keep her from spilling the beans, hoping she would get bored and quietly quit the affair of her own accord.

Omg the son most definitely didn’t just stop n end that behavior, if he went to counseling n getting help, he might not be continuing the behavior, but if they just left it n didn’t do anything to get him help, he probably didn’t seek help on his own, he won’t until he hits a kind of rock bottom like any addict, he has to kno he has a problem to begin with n regret n feel guilt n ashamed but he honestly just seemed more upset that he got caught, n embarrassed in that way n not genuinely ashamed of it. That son of his is a predator n the fact they choose to be blind n ignorant about not knowing if his son still commits those acts is sad, tho his son is not under his responsibility anymore cus he’s an adult now, he should’ve acted n did more than just have him go to therapy unless he actually followed up with the therapist n communicate about the dog being abused n the web browser history, I kno it’s a lot n could be no help, but I wouldn’t feel right unless I did everything I could to get this kid help to protect others n animals from him, cus once the kid is legally adult n on their own there’s not much u can do, but if my kid is a danger to others including animals, I’d do wat I can to get him help or prevent him from hurting anyone or anything anymore, even if it means going to the police

Story 1: what has me so up the wall, is they didn’t do any test to see if Op is her fathers daughter, they just immediately treated Op like outsider because of her moms affair. Not once did they ask Op to do some DNA testing. First OP is so controlling and delluded and has such weird morals and values, it's outlandish. As a former foster parent I can say that OP is enabling so much of this girl’s behavior to the point that she’s allowing her to wreck her life with very little consequences. She’s too old for her to put up with any of this regardless of her past. She needs very real life consequences for her actions *every*single*time that she pulls something. And why she isn’t on meds just because she’s a teenager is beyond comprehension. She needs to be medicated properly if she’s bipolar/borderline because her brain literally can’t function properly without medication. I had a friend diagnosed with this as well as a mother that I could bet the bank also has it. Her behavior is “very” much like my diagnosed friend’s behavior. Like spot on. Life will NEVER get any easier until she’s got a decent doctor working to level out the brain chemicals that are out of balance in that girl. My friend, off her bipolar meds, was like a whole different nonfunctional person. Wildly unstable and quite able to do real damage to people. On it? So so SO much better on her meds. Normal. So yeah this girl would be put on proper meds and on extremely limited privileges until she complied without fail just like they do in residential treatment homes for kids who can’t live in normal homes/families. You have to earn every right that you want without fail in those places. Want a privilege? You go take that shower or “no deal”. You don’t get a THING (other than basic necessities/food) without earning that right. Only good compliant behavior gets you anything extra. Structure and routine is so important to people like this until they learn how to function in normal society. They need rules and boundaries at every turn in order to turn their lives around and lead a better existence.

First story abortion opinion: you say you had an abortion, but still refer to SS baby as baby, not fetus.
