@@OmniTierra We've talked on IG but we are starting our route in Whitefish, MT and will be riding to the Grand Tetons National Park. We are going at a relatively easy pace. But who knows how many miles we'll really get in on average. We plan on just enjoying the scenery and taking in the ride, similar to how you and Mira do it. I'll likely do the entire thing is sections at a time but will probably be on my own for the rest. But again, thanks for the time it takes you to document your rides. I've been doing a bit of videoing on my YT channel for family and friends to view. It's definitely work but great to look back on. Stay safe on your travels and maybe our paths will cross someday. Thanks also for all of your advise!

It can really be tough. I’m travelling and most insurance wouldn’t cover Mira. I have to self fund her care. Fortunately she is healthy and hearty. Hope the other information we have on Dogpacking.com is useful for you. 🤗💕🐕

It is definitely a commercial of a sort. The first thing I’ll say is that Ryan is a close friend of mine. He has created a lot of good content to inspire people to get out there. If he evolves as a creator or he needs to pay the bills by promoting a product, I’m not sure why anyone would have a problem with that. Dogpacking.com is a company that I am involved in on the ground floor. The goal is to provide information and inspiration for adventurous dogs. We want it to be a resource to help you “have better adventures with your dog”. Insurance is just one topic that we touch on. We don’t have a commercial relationship with any insurance company, and there are other options that someone might want to take in order to be prepared should they have a large expense with their dog. Accidents happen and being forced to make a decision that you don’t want to because you aren’t in a financial position to make the choice you would otherwise could be a very difficult place to find yourself. The whole purpose of that little short is just to bring it to your attention. What you do with that information is up to you. As to the idea of commercials or endorsed products in general on a TH-cam channel. I have already made it clear to our followers that I am involved with Dogpacking.com so if they see sponsored videos from that company, they shouldn’t be surprised. Videos can take a tremendous amount of time to shoot and produce. Equipment is expensive and often needs to be replaced since we ride in difficult conditions. We do have a Patreon page and those people have been amazing in their support. They get access to add free TH-cam videos and behind the scenes videos as well as update articles. The reality is Dan, that using TH-cam isn’t free. If you pay for premium to skip ads, there’s a cost. If you don’t pay for premium and you watch the ads, there’s a cost in time and for both options TH-cam/google collect your data and uses that when it comes to selling ads. Those companies don’t share a tremendous amount of the money they make with the actual creators. This short was intended to bring your attention to the need to be financially prepared to care for your dog and new start up for dog owners call Dogpacking.com. Mira sells T-shirts too 🤗💕🐕 Would love to hear your thoughts on how someone should fund a TH-cam channel since you have an opinion, that’s not fully expressed in your comment.

I definitely recommend a single wheel trailer since they will track with the bike over a variety of terrain. The more common versions will attach at the rear axle, but I have recently tried a trailer that attaches at the seat post. I was very impressed by how much better it was. Farfarer trailers make a great product. I have used a Bob trailer in the past and had good results and you should be able to find one of those used on the Internet somewhere. The folks @therobertaxleproject can sell you through axle adaptor if needed for your bike. If you’re looking for a real bargain. Check the internet for a a used child trailer and pull the seats. A good way to try it out.

We’ll get to it all and if you ask a question we can answer that specifically. Because dog packing isn’t just dogs with bikes or dogs with backpacks. Dog packing is every adventure with your dog.🤗💕🐕

They are very tough. I would have worn out 3 chains with the miles on that belt. It’s very interesting how many others have made assumptions about why it broke and the engineering involved. Even the engineers made these leaps. You’re right that people do embellish a bit. However with the lack of maintenance needed and the length they last for us they are still worth carrying a spare. I would likely need a spare chain too since on a bike like this is is a bit more than a full chain. Also quality high end chains are much harder to find than people imagine. Even in the US on the GDMBR you cannot guarantee a bike shop would have a specific chain in stock. For us @carbondrive for the win 🏆 🤗💕🐕

@@OmniTierra honestly for what what your doing that pinion and belt drive is probably the most durable set up. Nice not to worry about a derailleur when you’re in the middle of nowhere, and those belts take way more punishment than a chain.

We don’t see many riders where we ride. Nice to meet cool people when we do cross paths
