    I ride in full sun most days out of the year so one thing I ALWAYS have in my frame bag is a Mylar ® "Space Blanket", yes they can keep you warm by reflecting your body heat, but what most people overlook is the fact that they can also reflect sunlight, which can then be used over your tent say, to give you shade where there is no shade. Always pack Space Blankets!

    Hey John wondering if you have a formula for salt consumption? I found out about putting a pinch of pink Himalayan salt in a glass of water first thing in the morning.. and I'm wondering what you use if you have a special formula or you just don't worry about it

    • @OmniTierra

      No formula for me. There’s so much salt already in modern processed foods it’s very easy to get an abundance.

    • @ExileTheKnightsOfMaltaNow
      @ExileTheKnightsOfMaltaNow ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OmniTierra thanks for your reply John.. supposedly the pink Himalayan salt contains a variety of salt and minerals that we don't get in table salt.. also the added salt to processed foods typically doesn't contain iodine, nor does the Himalayan salt, is another consideration.. so I try to use the iodized salt in addition for cooking . knowing how to do the skin pinch test for hydration on the top of my hand.. and avoiding cold drinks.. and a conscious effort to take more salt in after being told to avoid salt for most of my life? The pinch of pink Himalayan salt in a glass of water in the morning seems to have.. liberated me.. there are videos about it,.. I use @rexspecsk9 To protect her eyes from wind and dust. In extremely cold weather Mira does have a vest. I suppose it depends what you mean by bad weather. We both adapt to conditions that we ride through. I might use tactics like riding early in the morning and late in the afternoon if it’s very hot but other than that I can’t think of any weather that’s really too much of a problem.

      @@riverdog6875 We’re in the middle of rainy season here in southern Mexico. So really our only choice is to ride or not ride. If it stays warm enough we just keep riding and get wet. In more northerly latitudes or higher elevations we would seek shelter if it was close to freezing and still raining. Really the only weather that’s ever a concern for us is extreme heat and sun combination for rain and cold which is a recipe for hypothermia. Everything else is easy enough for us to manage

      I have no plans as yet. I have friends in Tulum I’m spending the Xmas holidays with but then it’s an open sheet, apart from North?
      But Oxaxaca seems to be a destination to head for initially?
