- Join Mira & John on a 12 day shakedown ride along the GDMBR, BC 1000 and some other trails in the southern Canadian Rockies. This video is part of the preparation for an around the world bikepacking trip. The ride begins this September in the Canadian Rockies riding south.
Join Mira and John as they dogpack the Americas. Last summer they rode the GDMBR, The Oregon Timber Trail, Orogenisis, Wild West route, Baja Divide, Trans Mexico_Norte and many others.
This year as the borders open they are riding south to towards the tip of South America. The first two of seven continents.

I just finished watching Ryan Van Duzer's last episode where you found the 4 puppies on the side of the road. So happy you found them and brought them into the next town. Big kudos to you John, Mira and Ryan for doing so, it made me smile. I'm a fellow Canadian living in Ottawa.

I had a bad accident with Paragliding so no more paragliding for me which I've done for 15 Years, I still need something to do, I found the youtube canal from Iohan Gueorguiev
from Canada to Argentina with a bike fell in love with it 40 videos very sad when he suicide had tears in my eyes, so I board a bike haven't been on one sins a was a teenager,
a cheated a bit and board an E-bike but I'm 76 Years old you still get good exercise even with an e-bike, your canal will keep me busy for a while love you guys greetings to Mira ciao e.

Who are you John? You struck me as an academic till I saw your tattoos! Now I don't have a clue. You're a lovely, gentle soul with a love of your dog that is so endearing and precious. Beautiful country! FYI if you can find Tear Aid, it's some great patching tape. I use it on tents, sleeping pads and tubes.
There are several products. The one that you see in the video is dyneema, same as the ten material.

Thank you John and Mira! I started the GDMBR in 2019 for my 60th birthday from my old stomping ground of Banff (lived there in the late seventies) but only got as far as Whitefish as I had to return due to our eldest dog was in failing health. No problem I thought, I'll just continue next year. Well, no one had a next year, last year, due to covid so I picked it up this year from Whitefish to Jackson,Wy. What a ride! What incredible people I met along the way. 800 miles of smiles. It restored my hope for America. I can't wait for your next episode. If you ever end up in Costa Rica you have a place to stay with us, fellow Canuck.

The zip lube works well. Beeswax or coconut oil are probably easier to come by than a specialty product.

We only saw Black Bears but we saw 6 of them 😳 🐻
@@OmniTierra sounds...exciting. We ran into a pile of black bears on the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver Island, especially near towns where there's garbage to raid. We got turned around by a mom and cub in 2018 and then again in 2019 lol.
