You are so right.. Before I knew about my braintumor I wrote a book. The Key, to live life happier and I mention many things in there that are actually the same as what you mention. When happy with less and nature and yourself, this life, slowing down, you are happier and healthier than People who chase things, chase happiness outside themselves, consume to fill voids, always rush etc... These days we are being lived if we let that happen, instead of actually just living, just breathing and just being.. ❣️

Really nice video! A little tip that helps me avoid impulse purchases: I snap a photo of the product instead of buying it. Thank you for another wonderful and thoughtful video! I saw your plant based cookbook so this might not pertain to you but I buy protein meats when on sale and put in my chest freezer in my office. Then I can meal plan around them such as having salads next week with thinly sliced flank steak on them next week. I also freeze leftovers in meal size portions to take out and bring to work for lunch in the next month or two so it's not too repetitious.

    • @swisssimpleton

That is such a great approach with freezing the on sale meats! You're really putting your freezer to good use 😍 At home we cook plant based almost exclusively but still enjoy meat when we're invited somewhere or from time to time eat at a restaurant ☺luckily plant based proteins usually last very long often even without refrigeration 🙏

I still have a some time to pay off my house; with an interest rate of more than 8%, I double or even triple the monthly payment. I just want to be done with it. 😂😅😂 I travelled extensively when I was younger so I don't miss that. I, too, bought expensive things many years ago and I still use them until now. In the long run, they become cheap. I save for small repairs or renovations around the house. Leading a simple slow life is a self-contained life, really.

So nice to see someone figure this out at your age instead of later in life like myself. I started this journey 11 years ago when my husband and I moved to anither state in America and sold our home. We've moved back but are in a condo in ab very small town because I'm not a city girl. I'm all about eveything you've said amd continue to keep going to simplify. Consumerism is rampant in America as you can guess. It's everywhere I guess. The few bucks overtime was so not worth it. And I had no choice I had to work. I was so burned out to the point that I had to resign. They didn't even care they would rather have unhappy personnel resigning every few months. I was so unhappy, I'm slowing recovering but the PTSD is real x
