When I was a kid, buying new things was not always possible, but when I grew up and started working I was able to afford more things. I enjoyed it so much that I bought new clothes at least once a week. I thought it was fun and I wasn't hurting anyone by doing it.
One day, I was complaining to a friend about feeling tired and overwhelmed every day, so she recommended the book "The Joy of Less" by Francie Jay. The following week I bought the book and started reading it.
When I read the book's last sentence, I got up, walked to my closet, and thought, "This is the problem."
At that time I had bought so many clothes that there were not enough days of the week to wear them and every day I got stressed deciding what to wear. Without realizing it, I was cluttering my house but also my mind. That day I decided to donate most of it to charity or my loved ones.
Now with a smaller closet, I live a much simpler life, enjoy mental clarity most of the time, and am happier than ever.
I can absolutely relate to what you wrote! Decluttering different areas in my life also made a huge difference and realising that I don't need much to be happy ☺ Glad to read that you are happier now and are enjoying a simpler way of life 🙏🍀

Thanks so much for these videos Felix! They are so calming. I've wanted to make the shift to a slower simpler lifestyle for a long time but I didn't have the confidence or the motivation until I found your videos. You've inspired me to slow down, stop buying so much unnecessary stuff, reduce screen time, connect with nature, focus on the present, and to live intentionally. You've helped me change some bad habits and start on my own journey of slow living. I look forward to future videos, take care.
That is the biggest compliment I could recieve for this videos, thank you so much! I'm very happy for you that you devcided to take these steps and wish you nothing but a bright and happy future ahead ☺🍀

28:11 The moment you said "middle ages" Ken Follett immediately popped-up in my mind... 30:12 I have also noticed this phenomena many years ago, people keeling over shortly before/after retirement. I heard many interesting stories of how they passed away... 33:27 Love happens, I agree. And yes, that sound's cheesy.😂 Cheers from the North!
Yes, love the books by Ken Follett! I'm reading "World without end" right now actually 😄
Love is cheesy sometimes, isn't it? 😂😂 Cheers up to your beautiful country! Hope you slowly are getting some signs of spring 🌻
@SwissSimpleton Spring is creeping in but watching your vid, I have dandelion envy!😂 Cheers and thank you.

Hey man, cheers from Italy.
1) Wardruna? You are a man of fine taste 😎
2) as for metal, I used to be a super fan since two decades. However, since I've started my minimalist slow-living journey, I simply cannot listen to Cannibal Corpse or such anymore...
Because I'm also experiencing that my "internal frequency" is so stressed by external consumerist fast lifestyle, that also in music I need to unwind.
Therefore I'd prefer something very calming like Guild of Ambience for example, instead of fast metal or fast electronic music. You're not experiencing the same?
I absolutely LOVE Wardruna 😅 such fantastic music with lyrics that have so much meaning and depth!
Concerning metal or other fast music I absolutely see what you mean and experience that from time to time too! I think I have reduced the amount that I listen to such music quite a lot over the years as it was pretty much the only thing I used to listen to. If I need to unwind, it is absolutely not the music that I will put on, that is definitely different from a couple of years ago. When I went through especially challenging times, I pretty much cut out metal entirely for a couple of months as I simply couldn't handle it.
However I still love the music and everything around it. It feels like home to me and when I am in a good place mentally and don't feel like it could potentially be too much, I still quite enjoy it ☺
Cheers my dear neighbour and have a great sunday ☺🍀
@@swisssimpleton thanks brother, interesting answer! I will update you on my journey as well! Cheers)
@@lucapaneslowliving Looking forward to it! ☺☺
Yay, a new video!😊😊☺️

Hi 🩷
Are you born and raised in swiss?
Yes ☺
Heavy metal rattles my soul, not in a good way. Interesting aspect of your lifestyle!!
I completely get that! It is absolutely not for everybody and I see how and why some people don't enjoy it at all ☺
I still absolutely love it, however I don't listen to it as much as I used to as I slow down more and more 🙏
Are you on Instagram ?
No ☺ I have no social media besides TH-cam 🙏
