Testing Out This Budget Friendly Chicken Coop- Wonline
We received a chicken coop from wonline asking us to test out their product and give them a review. We accepted and we are glad we did. The coop turned out to be really good quality and it will come in handy for not only our current hens, future chicks, but also for meat birds down the road as well. It held up strong to being moved regularly and we are very happy with it. The link to check it out on amazon yourself is below!

Giving Hens A Good "Retirement" Home
มุมมอง 1K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
We happened to stumble across a post in our local chicken swap page talking about "the chicken man" making his rounds again. Turns out it was an opportunity to purchase "retired" laying hens from the factory. These Hens still have a lot of life in them and we hope to give them a much better home for the rest of their days. Hen houses can be so detrimental to a hens health which is why they are ...

Good job bro !!!
😍😍
That's some algae green water! We put a copper tube in our watering container and that kills the algae. Doesn't need to be huge.
Love it we will give it a try!
hello from TX. My chick with i raised from hatching was attacked yesterday by our young rescue dog.. I am doing everything to help her to recover.. she likes watermelon. I bring her fresh one every day.. she doesnt eat today but still pecks on watermelon.. I am afraid to ask.. did those chicks survived? sorry if it is painful topic. and thank you
If I’m remembering correctly it was 11 injured and 8 or 9 survived. They are fully grown and healthy now. Watermelon is a good way for the chicken to get hydration especially in this heat. I would still keep regular food and water available in case she does start eating again. Not sure if you’ve tried sprinkling some crushed aspirin in some water or on the watermelon you’re giving her but often times animals in general will not eat while they are in pain. So the aspirin will knock down the pain enough that they feel like eating. Hope this helps!
Doesn't always work. Trust me
You’re not wrong. But it’s at least another way to get it on if an alternative way doesn’t work.😅
Do they continue to grow back though?
Yes they grow back and will eventually have to do it again. I haven’t had to do it any more frequently than maybe once a year though. Different roosters could be different though.🤷♂️
A maul isnt for weaklings bro
Need to start liftin more.💪🥲
Use chicken water nipples they’re 100% maintenance free and doesn’t require cleaning… also the hens are enjoying fresh clean water every day..
We’ve tried nipples. No matter what brand they always seem to leak, break, or not work all together. Not sure why but maybe it’s because we have 150 hens they just don’t hold up to the amount of use.🤷♂️
Awesome man straight to the point easy simple thank you
Thanks for watching! And just an update we are still using this still a year later and it’s still going strong.
BTDT. Same size.
Not sure what BTDT means.
I'd have frozen eggs
heat lamp brother
I’m not sure what temps are like where you live but typically as long as we collect everyday we don’t have any issues with frozen eggs in the winter until it gets down to the teens. Once it’s below 20 we do have to collect more than once a day to prevent frozen eggs.
Those tires have a tube in it
They are for sure tubeless or seating the tire to the rim wouldn’t be a problem.
Murphys oil soap in a gallon bucket. It has the consistency of lard.
What's the black bottom piece
Rubber feed pan. But you could also use any old plastic pan like a plastic oil pan.
That tire bald as hell man lol sure you dont wanna take it off?? 😂
The front wheels on a lot of zero turns are slicks.
Oh man, don’t post this on a FB chicken page. I got roasted, no pun intended. I was accused of cruelty.
Yeah people tend to make assumptions without actually trying it and seeing how quick and painless it is for the rooster. But have no problem taking a chance splintering or snipping a spur back too far and actually doing some damage.
Came here looking for ideas. I'm already doing this, but my chicks have pushed the chips up on the wire and still get it saturated. They may end up being a meal instead of layers if they keep their mess up.
It helped us to elevate it a little more once they started getting big enough to handle hopping up on it instead of it being level with the rest of their bedding.
Lovely
Yo legit look white 😂 #oneofus
super cool. I'll have to use that concept for my next one! My favorite nesting box idea!
It’s still worked great for us so far! Thanks for watching!
Great job I did the same thing except I made my bed 3 x 3 I just cut them in half
Thanks, you are a lifesaver
Hope it goes smooth for you! Sometimes even with the strap it can be a pain in the butt. Thanks for watching!
It looks like you have a lot of birds, do you think one of these would handle 50 birds so long as they never ran it dry?
We have 160 birds and have it ran to a water collection tank. Stays filled up and all the birds have water! So it should be more than enough for 50. Thanks for watching!
👍🏻
You look very similar to Charlie Hunnam.
I’ll take it.😎😂
Thank you!❤
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this video. So many of us are new to raising chickens therefore we are searching for information from A-Z when it comes to the different needs and situations that come up.
Glad we could help!
Any critters got in? How are you keeping the raccoons out
Never had issue with predators in the greenhouse coop. It’s surrounded by electric poultry netting which helps with predators but we also have dogs that do a pretty good job at keeping things away.
She is a cannibal.
Last chunk took the kid out
😂😂😂
Best build ive found on roll aways! I like that you build like i do with what you got and repurpose whenever possible. Gotta love it when a projects only cost is a little sweat n elbow grease!
Appreciate that, they are still working great today. Thanks for watching!
Enjoyed your presentation! Thanks for the link to the "toilet bowl" waterer! ha
Thank you for watching!
Wow I didn’t know this thanks 😊
Happy to help!
This is exactly like pulling out a humans fingernails which is considered one of the most cruel forms of torture thats why people say to file them down instead of pulling them off
It’s not at all actually. If it were then the rooster would be losing its mind from the pain and he’s obviously fairly relaxed minus not liking being held. I’m not pulling anything out of its leg, I am cracking the spur near the base and it takes very little effort to do. No contact with any nerves is occurring. And his true spur is still fully in tact. I am not cruel to any of my animals and if this was truly harmful I wouldn’t do it or advise it to others.
@@easyworkacres I used to think the same thing until multiple vets told me otherwise it doesn't seem like it's painful because chickens don't react the same to pain as humans it's not the kerotin that hurts it's the exposed quick it's left all the nerves exposed like a rug burn
@@kaydencekeckler7397 I have had several vets say it is just like ripping your own fingernail out. So I guess it all depends on who you talk to and their personal opinions.
@@easyworkacres you are cruel, you just don't want to believe it. You put "being correct" ahead of your animals welfare.
Cmon, bitch!! 😂😂😂 I'm a farm chick learning shit on her own, and i hope this works cuz I'm kinda losin it 😂😂
Lumberjack physique on point Well done
Appreciate it.
Hey! I believe my fencing is broken somewhere, how would I find this?
All you can do is walk the fence and try to find the break. You could use a tester around different places along the fence to locate where you’re getting the most power drop off. As you get closer to the break or a possible grounding the current reading should get lower. Is it netting or single lines?
If it’s poultry netting check your bottom line where it attaches to the step in post. The posts where you connect your charger to. Sometimes when you step in your post the bottom hot line will slide down and make contact with the metal at the bottom of the stake and ground your fence.
@@easyworkacres that was exactly what was wrong lol, thank you!
That "come on bitch" really resonated with me lol. Thanks for the tip though, I'll be having to do this real soon on my tractor
has anyone ever tried to use an actual toilet... seems like it could be perfect... you just flush it once a day and it auto fills.
Could work as long as you make it where it will autofill the bowl as the chickens drink it down. If it functions only how a normal toilet functions the bowl would get frank dry and won’t refill until it’s flushed.
Might get too hot to touch in direct sun. Nice size. Pretty cool.
I haven’t had problem with it being too hot anytime I’ve messed with it or cleaned it but it’s not in direct sun for too long throughout the day being mounted to the coop. Thanks for watching!
The tires I got from ebay came from Vietnam so crushed down I have not been able to mount them using every trick I know and some I just dreamed up. They will not go back to their intended shape. Ratchet straps, starter fluid, spreading them over night off the rim with a tube. They keep going back to the crushed shape. The only thing I can think of is putting a tube in a good tire which I really don't want to do. Anyone?
I had some that were crushed like that before. I’f you can get something to hold them out to their intended shape and leave em sit out in the sun for a few days the heat should help shape them back to how they should be.
@@easyworkacres Thank you. I started doing that last night and left them over night. Sat them over the woodstove over night and cooled them off this morning in that shape. Hope it works I don't know why starter fluid didn't work but maybe too windy. Thanks again.
My rooster won't stop bleeding!
Any update? Any bleeding should stop within a few minutes. Is he separated from the other chickens?
How well do these keep them in I got the vevor net and the biggest chikens go straight thru it
Keeps most of our hens in pretty well. We have 4 that jump the fence everyday but we don’t really care as it’s mostly intended to keep predators out at night. Never had any that can fit through it though. If it fits through the fence you may have electric netting intended for pigs. The squares are bigger on netting for larger livestock.
@easyworkacres yeah I have to order right on apparently I got the goat fence
My dad used to say your shoe string only breaks when you going out!
Hi nice system. But can you give me you opinion on a system that is self maintained, you dont have to do nothing.Just plug it in and attach the water line. This is the name on you tube (automatic self maintained water system for chickens) Let me know what you think. Thanks
That’s a pretty sweet set up he’s got. That wouldn’t work on our moveable coop as it doesn’t have electric so we would need to figure out a whole solar panel set up to do that. Also it seems like a lot of moving parts that could get damaged on a moveable coop like ours. Otherwise it’s super cool and looks like it works great. As far as cleaning goes it takes about 30 seconds a week to pull the drain plug and hit it with a brush so it’s not too time consuming to us.
Finally! I video that had all the info i needed! Been looking in to it for ducks but wasn't sure if it will work with rain collecting system without a pump for pressure. Thank you!!!!
Good to know👍
Thanks for watching!
Take a sawzall and connect all the drill holes on one board, and you wouldnt have to take the bolt all the way out. You could just loosen it enough to rotate it around.
Not a bad idea at all! Thanks!
Chicken wire only keeps chickens in iy does n ot protect against predators. Hardware cloth would be better. Raccoons will literally pull a chicken through chicken wire.
True. We are not concerned about predators though. We have farm dogs that do a great job at keeping predators away and this run will deal with any possible aerial predators.
@@easyworkacres Good job then.
just found y'all. looks like you're having fun
Lots of fun. Adding new stuff all the time! Thanks for watching!
Those are a nice run. I've got a 10x20, I put it together myself in a couple of hours. The ONLY thing I did NOT like is the flimsy chicken wire. I ended up buying heavier Guage wire. But it's pretty sturdy tube framework. You'll like it because it's easy to move
It seems like it’s gonna do pretty well for us!
