This is great! We built a temporary shower shack to use when staying in an old rv while building our house. It would be a shame to tear it down when we no longer need it for that purpose. We planted small garden beds nearby so turning it into something like this would be perfect!

That’s awesome! If it’s got a roof it’ll collect water, so why not use it on the garden! 🙌🏼
Thanks for watching, we appreciate you!

Just found your channel and subscribed. Thank you a million times over for taking the time to walk us through everything with measurements and correct names of things. Total newbie here in carpentry. I have had this idea for my gardens but wasn't quite sure how to build. I have almost 10k sq ft growing space, split between 3 gardens and dragging my hose to all 3 gardens is kicking my rear. This is the answer to my problems. Lol P.S. Loved seeing the whole family take part in this. Y'all's children are living dolls. :)

Glad this was helpful Veronica. I was worried I was going too in depth and almost cut some stuff out. Glad I kept it how it was. That’s a lot of growing space! Having a centralized tank would definitely help.😅
Thanks for watching, we appreciate you!

That’s a good set up. Looks good most of the ones I have seen are usually painted black and not very attractive. Good job.

Thanks Paula! Its working good for us so far. I haven't seen many standalone tanks like this. Most of what I could find people always collect water from their house or shed, but never just a standalone collector in the middle of a field. Hopefully this springs some ideas for people!

Good creative ideas on that project. Hows that sunburn? Lol better start growing some aloe Vera! I like how it's all self contained. Good job!

Thank you! Trying to find ways of keeping things near the garden to cut back time running back and forth! I plan to make similar tanks around the farm where water is needed. And I definitely got a little lit that first day.😅
      Thanks for watching!

Loving this. Have been wanting to do this very thing. Now, you gotta talk to us girls and I mean talk us thru it. … what’s that clamp thingy thing called? What length screws did you use? How much overhang did you leave for the gutter side ?? Did the tank come with that spigot? Show me show me show me. And many thanks !!❤

Happy to share! Here are links to the exact spigot and the clamps I used, I also have them linked in the description and will be sure to do that in the future!

I used 3" exterior screws on the entire build out. I put a 3" overhang over the gutter. The tank didn't come with the spigot, it came with a big shut off valve but you can swap it out with the spigot adapter I have linked in the above comment or in the description! Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
