  • Sometimes you just have to use what you have on hand to make the quick fix you need. In this case we had a damaged fence and no time to wait for a repair kit to ship for our electric poultry fence. So we decided to use washers as a substitute for the brass Ferules from premiere1 fencing.
Hope this helps you if you are ever caught in a bind with a damaged fence!
Materials we use all in one place on our Amazon Storefront: www.amazon.com...

This is perfect. I've called every farm supply for 50 miles around, no repair kits. I'm totally doing this.

The Premier1 repair kit gave 6 brass ferrels... I have 12 holes...something REALLY wanted in!!!

Yeah sometimes the damage is ridiculous. You feel like you’re weaving a whole new fence. That’s why I ended up doing this as a quick fix and won’t forget to turn my fence on again.🤦🏼‍♂️😂

Hey! I believe my fencing is broken somewhere, how would I find this?

    • @easyworkacres

All you can do is walk the fence and try to find the break. You could use a tester around different places along the fence to locate where you’re getting the most power drop off. As you get closer to the break or a possible grounding the current reading should get lower. Is it netting or single lines?

If it’s poultry netting check your bottom line where it attaches to the step in post. The posts where you connect your charger to. Sometimes when you step in your post the bottom hot line will slide down and make contact with the metal at the bottom of the stake and ground your fence.
