  • Health is important to us and we are always looking for ways we can better take care of ourselves. So we decided to make a cold plunge for daily cold therapy for both physical and mental health. Evin and I both have felt amazing since starting this daily routine and it only set us back about $125 total while commercial cold plunges can cost in the thousands of dollars. Below are the products/materials we used to make our cold plunge.
    InkBird Temperature Controller: amzn.to/47FApmu
    Flex Seal: amzn.to/47G3qyv
    Waterproof Silicone: amzn.to/47CUsSB
    Neoprene Feet Covers: amzn.to/3GrX7mk

Okay, that's a practical idea for an upcycle. I fell down the stairs and hit every step on my lower back in my early 30's, while hanging garland around the banister of all things. I've done an ice bath in my tub before but this is awesome. I use an InkBird on my aquariums and I unplug everything before I stick my hands in my tank too. I'm terrified of getting electrocuted...lol So, it was good of you to point that out. Hope this brings you some relief!

Its been great so far! And yeah I don't think anyone would appreciate getting electrocuted so I made sure to add that in haha.

Way to go, Cam. Looks good. Flex Seal doesn’t last long in the heat. I wonder how long it’ll last in the low temps like you have there for the cold plunge. If it flakes but the freezer doesn’t leak, I’d let it flake and not try to repair it. The device you have for power management is a great idea for heating a greenhouse when temps get too low. Definitely a valuable share there!

Thank you! Yes the flex seal has flaked away some but for the most part seems to be holding up. It mainly started to flake after some ice buildup. I chiseled it off to get in and compromised the seal. I have some left over rubber seal for showers I forgot I had from when we built our house. I’m going to apply when it warms back up outside that should do a better job for long term. Had I realized I had the left over shower sealant I would’ve used that to begin with.😅

Can I suggest something foe your back?
I'm dead set against pain meds due to the damage they cause to our vital organs....
    I've had L5 surgery, also c1,c2.
I do cold therapy as well as 2x a month having Polarity treatments which are AMAZING for restoring the pos & neg flow of your body back in sync. It helps relieve muscle tension & aggravation and increases blood & oxygen flow to your muscles & organs.

Never tried a polarity treatment I’ll have to give it a try. I do dry needling, cupping, scraping, and ultrasound at physical therapy throughout the year. Just started at a sports chiropractor about a month ago too and it’s been awesome!
