The sink in the staircase is the so called "Bassena" and dates back from the times when people had no water in their appartements. So they had to get all their water from this place, which was also the meeting place from the habitants. Each floor has/had such a "Bassena" and ONE toilet for all peole living on this floor.

Budapest is great. And before the pandemic it was cheeeeeeeeap. You could get an excellent pizza for 3/4 euros. Fast forward 5 years, and today the same pizza is 8-10 euros.

the so called "secret police" are called r"evizoři" in Czech (they are always in civil clothes and they have a badge and special phone for checking validation of tickets and e-passes) and thanks to them we don't need to bother with turnickets or some card systems etc. in Prage and just hop no and off the public transport easialy and effecintly. Your experiance was a standard check and 1000 CZK is a real fine and after that you really can use the transport until midnigh of that day when you've got fined. PS: there is a precise time on the paper ticket printed at the time of validation based that "revizoři" can say if your ticket is still valid or not.

well, it depends where you eat... if you go to less tourist centric portion of the capitol, then you can get it down to $2-$3 for a coffe and $3-5 for a good packed sandwich...

The number one thing that offends me in Colombia: I hate it when they put Scopolamine in your drink, you're knocked out, and then they rob you blind and empty out all your bank accounts and credit cards. I also hate it when taxis on the street take you for a "Millionaire's Ride."

I lived in Cali for a period. Agua Blanca was a large comuna in the Eastern part of the city, and no-go zone. Great video, but risky.

People Live in fear. I travel for work and walk everywhere and every city I go they tell me not to walk this way or that. I do and have never had a problem. New Orleans, Chicago, Baltimore you name it. Every city is the same as the one you are from. They all have shitty places but nothing to be afraid of.
