one more thing. when you were in Poland, you should have gone by train to Ostrava, that is the Czech Republic. and from Ostrava take the regional company and go directly to Prague. A business ticket would send you from Ostrava to Prague for $20

Im 47 in the UK it been law to where seat belt since 31 January 1983. You must wear a seat belt if one is fitted in the seat you're using - there are only a few exceptions. You're also only allowed one person in each seat fitted with a seat belt. You can be fined up to £500 if you do not wear a seat belt when you're supposed to.

Been to Prague, was great but every 3rd person seemed to want to scam me. Be vigilant out there, especially with the cab drivers if you don't use uber.

It’s become super touristy and a lot of scammers abound
most of those scammers are from Romania and Bulgaria, we also don't like them, because they put bad light on Prague

A bit late to the party, but concerning the seatbelts, they are mandatory here in Czechia. Not using a seatbelt is a minor traffic office, resulting in a fine if caught by the police.

The tickets would have been sold as close as possible, but maybe it was sold out. It's usually a busy train. You also missed out by not using the dining car on this train - it's one of the best in Europe.
