Vienna metro system is actually not that difficult to figure out, once you're familiar with it. You just have to look for the line you need and its colour and the direction. Hauptbahnhof is more confusing as it is also a train station with many exits and so on... Always ask locals when in doubt, young people usually speak english quite well, older people not always. Enjoy Vienna
every country is different in europe so its hard to generalize, each country has its own metro system. so i guess it depends where you are. but i can see how it would be a little confusing for a tourist, especially if its in another language. but here in sweden most signs etc are also in english which is good for tourists
The Paris system is really easy. I get lost in NYC more than I do in Paris. Figuring out which ticket to buy is tricky, you need to know what areas you want to visit. I have never taken the metro in Austria.
Buenas David y Natti, ¿que mas? Your adventure in travel reminds me of getting lost using metro in China. A young Chinese girls must have noticed our "lost faces" and offered her help in her broken english. I learned then to always look for the young people to help as they want to practice english. 🇺🇸🇨🇴
Good idea. Don’t be afraid to ask locals for directions. Found your way in La Floresta Medellin. When in UniCentro mall I frequently ask the guards and shop owners the way to restaurants. Interesting hikes and routes to Glamping and milking Holstein cows.
watching your videos is kinda like watching an Alred Hitchcock movie where he would make a cameo appearance, but now your videos, Nati is the one who makes a cameo. Que linda! 👍 Love this series!
Here I am checking to see if everything is alright with you since you when to México and you're in Europe now? I never thought I'd see the day you left LATAM. But good to see you're well David, Im wondering why i havent been getting your notifications. Odd...
Lol yeah, even as someone who speaks German I find Vienna's metro to be endlessly confusing. Rdiculously deep and complicated stations. Karlsplatz is quite possibly the most overbuilt station I've ever been in.
I've been to Vienna in 2021 and it happened to me that I ended who knows where because there was some emergency situation and metro was going in different way, so we ended in different line. I am originally from Prague and it's very simple there, when you are in green station, you can end only in another green station because it's not connected with other lines, there are no weird trains that goes from who knows where to who knows where. 😀
Thanks for taking us along.. never been to Europe. Looks like a fun adventure. I’m Mexican and German and live in California hope to go to Germany one day to explore.
@@LifewithDavid Keeping the place in shape for tourists takes lots of people. It's pretty busy during the day. But strictly speaking, nobody lives there full time anymore
The prices in a grocery store will be significantly less than that well known Polish corner store (Zabka) you went to. With that being said, Zabka is everywhere and has most things you'll need as a traveler. Very convenient. Recommend checking out a grocery store but its possible that there won't be one thats convenient since you are in city center. Defaulting to Zabka is not that bad imo.
So if your talking Germany. Switzerland, Austria, Spain and the UK. You are wrong as these are the most punctual countries I’ve ever traveled by rail. However in Poland, Portugal Hungry and Italy. It is definable tranquilo gringo because the come and go as they please.
Since the announcements over the speakers are in German only, it must have been a bit difficult for you to figure out where you're going in the first place.
@@LifewithDavid You figured it out in the end. The overhead plan you noticed at 7:18 is essentially the key to everything. The overhead displays, like the one at 8:34 tell you what direction the train goes.
it took some advanced Calculus BUT I believe I cracked the code on why Eastern Europe is so safe and friendly when compared to Spain (and now increasingly ALL of Western Europe) ... "diversity"
@@adaman8423 Crime rates in Vienna have been falling for decades. The last few years have been no exception. That doesn't stop you right-wing liars from claiming the exact opposite. I can't eat as much as I want to vomit when I read comments like yours.
Vienna is all based on diversity, the history, the food, the culture. Criminality is not a real problem and it's still the safe throughout, also during the night.
The problem in Barcelona is overtourism, which makes tourists an easy target. Criminals in eastern Europe don't target tourists as such, but Prague might be also be risky in terms of pickpockets.
You get a free pass on this one, you don't have public transport back in Texas. There's no such thing as 'European' metro system though, there's 44 countries here... please be less arrogrant.

@@LifewithDavid im looking forward to see how your stay in poland is going to be. keep us updated and stay safe guy's!
This makes me feel better! 🤣 I felt the same way about public transport in Spain last summer.. eventually you get the hang of it..
The Poland videos are coming soon. 😊
@smegheadish it takes a day or so, but then you’re like an expert. Haha
how come you have only 16 videos? I remember seeing your videos from years ago.
It's hilarious to me that someone could get lost like that in the Vienna Metro. Glad you had a good time regardless!

I think the language barrier messed us up.
David, what happened to all of your old videos in Colombia? For example, all your videos are from 1 years ago or sooner
I put them on private to do an experiment.

That’s crazy! TH-cam is a bit weird with notifications. Still working in Mexico, just took a vacation with my girlfriend.
Yeah bro, you deserve it and I'm liking the new editing style and this is Nati's first go at it? Impressive I must say.
@NateInYoState thanks man! She did a really good job, the other ones she did on our trip are super good as well.

Go to lisbon portugal. Carcavelos beach and the posh cascais area.
I would love to. One day.
Just like Colombians! They physically bring you to where you want to go!🤙🏼👍🏼
Do they have a Customer Service Desk ?
There is a customer service number he could have called. I'm not sure how useful that would have been to someone not speaking German.

Happy you enjoyed it. You should!
Thank you for Krakow environment comments. Raining several hours every day past two weeks in Medellin. I’m enjoying swimming in the Estadio pools.
Schönbrunn has been uninhabited since November of 1918. The tourists pay for a large part of its upkeep.

It is not the European Metro system but the Vienna Metro system which is simple as the system is color coded and numbered.
Yes, we started to get the hang of it.
Restaurant car? 😂 What do you think you’re on the luxurious Amtrak?😅😅 just kidding!
When I was in Japan I thought their train system was very easy to use and takes you everywhere

Glad you enjoyed it
more of the locker hunger games 🤣
