- After working for a month and a half in Mexico with a TV production to make a true documentary tv series. I am finally back in Medellin Colombia. It feels like I have been gone for 4 months or more. My first impressions of being back.

I've been in Medellin for four months and absolutely also love it. The only thing I miss from Mexico is the amazing ocean but this cool weather in Medellin is truly perfect

Good to see you David. Im in Yucatan Mex and heat is off the charts. Today w humidex it was 47 and we have heat warning for few more days. Im sweating buckets and cant do anything bc heat and humidity are oppressive. 😅

Do you have a guide of places to go? etc. Also, I tried looking for the RBNB from your friend, but the link was broken. The one you interviewed that had one in Envigado I think. It looks like you were walking on the street behind the stadium, and then you turned right onto the street on the side of the stadium. I miss Medellin. I'm in Manta Ecuador right now and will be in Lima Peru a day after Thanksgiving. Then back to Medellin.
Everytime I see videos like this with people like you that are not from here coming back I wonder after seeing your living in Colombia going thru so many thing good and bad an d knowing how bad is safety what keep you coming and you are not the only one. that has been rob. there others videos and youtubers a french a canadian an australian keep coming and even settle in my country despise all that

I visited Guadalajara in July. Other than a quick trip to the Cancun area, I hadn't been to Mexico in about 13 years. I'd forgotten how car centric it was (or had become). While there is some mass transit, especially in the city center, it doesn't go everywhere. For example, we went to a futbol match at the new stadium which is basically in the suburbs of the city. There was no direct bus (that we could find) and the nearest city bus stop still left you about a 30 minute walk from the stadium. And like most US stadiums the arena was surrounded by parking lots. (Beautiful stadium though).

I agree about Mexican food. It tastes amazing but no way I could eat it everyday.! It's like you get spice fatigue.
So weird! I can’t go a day without spicy foods, I literally won’t eat the meal if there is not chile to it 🤣 tastes so bland! The spice tolerance us Mexicans have is unreal lmao

I believe that would make you stand out. Tourists in Colombia should aim to keep a low profile; in other words, it's best if they try to go unnoticed by the locals.

How much were you bench pressing before you left for Mexico? And how much are you bench pressing now? Also, if you don't mind, could you please tell me how tall you are?
repping out 225 easy, and then when I got back I was having trouble with 170, lol. But strength comes back fast, now I am back up to 195 for 3 sets of 10. At one point I was at 275 for 3 sets of 10, but that was in Brazil where all I was doing was working out and eating a ton of steak and eggs.

Suggestion. Do a walking video in Comuna 13.
I have one during the pandemic, where the graffiti tour is (comuna 13 is huge). Probably the only one on youtube where the streets are non chaotic.
@@LifewithDavid Ok. I'll look for it. As for the television work, most definitely keep that door open, because you never now where it could lead. My cousin is a professional musician here in the states. She's performed/ toured for many years and got her first acting part on a Netflix series before the pandemic. That introduction into TV produced more opportunities for her. Last I heard she spends her time between New York, LA, and Tacoma. Glad you're feeling good back in Colombia. 😁 Enjoy!

I have lived in Costa Rica since 1997 and about 7 years ago I went to Europe with 2 tico friends. On the leg of the plane ride home from Paris via Panama, there was a British woman and some Costa Rican guy I had never met. She was speaking her version of Spanish and he was having a nice conversation with her. When I heard that weird r that the ticos have, I felt like "ah, I'm home" and a sense of relief. So, when you were talking about the young woman with the thick paisa accent, it sure brought back those memories. Espero que sigas con ese sentimiento, mae.
How are you able to film with your camera walking in Medellin? Don't you worry about robbery by motorcycle?
Is it "safe" to go running/jogging in the "safest" neighborhood of Medellin? I guess it's something that the Colombians just don't do, go jogging in the streets and parks, right?
It's not very common. But they do jog around the stadium. Cycling is really big here.

Yo David... I want to ask you, if you know a place when people do reunions to practice spanish with native, i want to practice my english and of course... There's not a lot of people that talk English... And i know for your videos that you prefer to avoid the places that are most common for Foreigners! (Americans etc)
Language exchanges happen a lot in poblado in cafes and bars. Search in the medellin Facebook groups for language exchanges.
