    Hi, thank you very much for this video. Since you own a Raspberry Pi 5 and the Flirc case, it would be really interesting to analyze if the Flirc case can also handle an installed Ubuntu since it's also supported nowadays for the Raspberry Pi 5. The temperatures should be higher but it woul be so interesting to know if they stay below 80°C. If you're interested in testing it, your audience would surely appreciate it :-)

      @SuperPaul5000 to be honest in my use case (no pun) I don't notice any degradation of signal and I'm in a room directly above my router, however I could see there being a small reduction in range at the edges but this may be how it's orientated, both devices have a plastic base though

    Hi! Did you end up inserting a battery for the rtc clock? I noticed you left an unused battery inside the package box. Is the XBERRY PI's TF card reader still available to the system, while using the TF card reader on the PI Zero? Is the microSD card only used for external storage, or is the OS filesystem also stored in there? I thought the OS was embedded like in the old days.

    • @CaptainCommodore
      @CaptainCommodore 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I havnt fitted the battery, the pi zero has its own os, you do t store any files on there, all user files are on the mucrosd used in the xberry pi..... Worth noting that it will still work without the pi zero but you lose the extra abilities like tzx, sid , midi etc

    Nice looking/sounding keyboard, but the Spectrum key layout is still a war crime: Keys where they absolutely shouldn't be (the comma in the lower left corner?!?), and with the main qwerty layout shifted one place to the right, just to add insult to injury. Personally, I don't like this type of laser-cut case with side pieces that fit into slots, but admittedly this does look better than most.

    MiST is capable of much more than that. It can run many arcade games like Capcom CPS 1, CPS 1.5, CPS 2, Irem M72 / M92 (R-type 1/2, R-Type Leo, In the hunt, etc...), many Konami games (Simpson, Parodius, TMNT,....) as well as Neo-Geo AES/MVS, Neo-Geo CD, PC Engine, PC Engine CD, SNES,.... In fact most of the cores existing on MiSTer are also present on MiST except 3D systems like N64, Playstation 1, Sega Saturn and Jaguar as far as the FPGA chip in the MiST is too small for those. If someone is interested only in 2D gaming and doesn't need an HDMI output, then the MiST is a nice option to consider as far as it only costs 200 euros (when MiSter is around 500) and embeds a nice set of I/O (2x DB9 ports to plug Amiga, C64, Atari ST, megadrive, atari 2600 original joysticks and mouse, 4x USB ports as well as MIDI in/out interface to use with Amiga, Atari ST or PC cores).

      @@CaptainCommodore Yes the SiDi 128 has been freshly released but the future for such a platform is very questionnable as it only adds Playstation 1 core to what was available on the MiST (so far) + an HDMI (unscaled) video output. Though, it still costs around 400 euros after taxes which is 2 times the price of a MiST which is way too much when you can get a MiSTer for a bit less than 500 (i've seen some ready for use at 475) 😏

      You will need to have valid c64 files in order to load them , these will be shown automatically according to what type you are loading, for example , if your trying to load a d64 then you will need d64 files ( or a zip containing some ) in the directory you are pointing to, iirc it should default to the c64 directory automatically

    Well It's 3 months later and I just watched this. I had a noise issue with the Lumacode on my NTSC 65xe which I fixed. Your Pal 130xe from what I can tell has the same L37 ferrite bead that mine had, in a different spot on the board though. Try replacing it with a 470 ohm resistor, which is what fixed the problems with mine. Also looking at your board on the video W2 is not there so that's good as it's only supposed to be there in NTSC machines. If it fixes it I will be quite surprised if Copperdragon hadn't mentioned this as I fixed this before Your video was posted. You can find the information on the Lumacode Issues page. Good Luck.

      Thank you very much , to be honest I hadn't revisited this since the video as real life issues crop up lol, I will indeed try that as I really like the lumacode solution ( works great in the other machines I tried c128 etc )

      @@CaptainCommodore hi, yeah bit cryptic haha. He said it was a modded cannon v20 JP bios with EU boot colours, just didn’t understand how you got a copy on your build when couldn’t see that skoti replied to your request on his TH-cam. That’s why I was asking you, sorry, was thinking it may need it to work with the keyboard etc. when I have built I’ll just try with the cannon bios as I have the EU one.
