The middle jelly bars and atleast one coffee looks fine, steve woulda eaten em, id bet.
I wouldn't be too upset about the condition, if you watch Steve's video on one of these the one he opened was even worse. It was so foul even the salt somehow was compromised

Excellent part 2, I love the historical aspect it is great. Yes be safe with this food. Steve wouldn't have eaten any of this one either. Steve is crazy and will try things nobody else will but then he is not suicidal, he won't eat stuff that is dangerous. Really an interesting ration, Thanks for the review.

Safer than white, red or brown paint back in the day, high concentrations of lead in the pigments to make those colours.
Greens were generally compounds of copper and other less toxic metals.

I'm going to hope that these were at least good back in the day when they were on the Argus Anti-Submarine planes my uncle flew on from 1962-1975.

Not even smelling it, I can tell there is nothing there that isn't foul! I'm always confused when I see candies or jelly bars that are both wrapped and unwrapped. Seems a bit strange to me. almost like the unwrapped ones are just thrown in last minute before the can is soldered shut.

Better safe than sorry, RC. I'm always disappointed when these "food" rations turn out to be little more than candy. A crewmember would have been at least as well off to just drop a few Chuckles bars and M&Ms into his flight suit pockets. At worst, he'd have a double supply.

Too bad the contents were rotten, but the jelly candies reminded me of the Chuckles Jelly Candies I got off Amazon a while back, so I ordered some more (and they're really good).

Very interesting ration friend, slightly over expiration date, Like myself. However, great review R.C. !! Held up well for the age, like ourselves, smell not the best, however tolerable, LOL ?? I will watch my language on age. Apologies, you are younger, and should not make fun! Sometimes, my comments, well, come across wrong. I would ask myself the question would steve try this ....i think he would definately tried the coffee and candy and maybe tried to do the boullion
taxidrivermies the stank out of this can was horrific. I’m usually adventurous, but none of the packages were intact and I’m not willing to contract botulism for this hobby.

I don't think you could get botulism from fruitcake or bouillion
fresheFresse You can get it from fruits, oils and certain spices among other things. So yeah, you can get botulism from it.
fresheFresse you can get botulism from any organic material that is sealed. Not only can you be exposed to the toxins, but the spore form of C. botulinum can persist for years and contaminate anything that come in contact with it.

I'm disappointed by your lack of commitment to the craft. A serious ration reviewer would eat it and then document the resulting illness and/or hospitalization.
Whydo youkeepjump cutting everysecond inthemiddleof sentences? itgetsreally annoyingafterawhile tohavethevideo andaudiokeep cuttingforwardoverand overagain.
Jenny Wakeman so spare you from hearing “um” or pauses all the time.
The pauses in talking are natural and what people expect to hear. The jumpcuts are very distracting and annoying.
I know it means nothing to you and yur 23,000 subs, but I just couldn't stand it and had to unsub. It's so unbearable to watch and hear that literally every second or 2.
Jenny Wakeman I’m sorry to hear that. Most of it is done out of necessity, as up to half of the raw video is dead air or fumbled speech. I don’t script and as a result, the speech is often not very smooth. I often end up saying things multiple times and picking the one that sounds smoother. I have to make cuts to make the speech more concise and to keep the video from being too long.
I'm not sayin that you should never do cuts. Steve1989 does cuts and its fine. I'm sayin that you need to lay off doing it so much. From 1:12 to 1:42 for example, 30 seconds, you did 15-18 jumpcuts. At some points there was 3 or 4 within 1 second or so. It's to the point that I can't even count it accurately because there's so many.
It's fine to cut between sentences, but please don't cut so many times within mere seconds. Stitching sentences together, piece by piece. it gets. really. annoying after. a. while if you. can understand. what I mean.
